I am so so happy right now! My total views have finnally climbed to over 1,000 and one of my Hubs has been selected as a Rising Star. I've been steadily working on improving my Hubs and apparently it is working!
How excited were you to hit 1,000 views?
Congratulations, StitchTheDamned!! You are making such fantastic progress. I honestly can't remember when I hit the 1,000 view mark- I'm oddly blind to traffic for the most part- but it is kind of mind boggling when one imagines a crowd of 1,000 people looking at your work... O____O
Well done!
Thank you! I didn't expect that many views, really. So it is so exciting.
I would have been excited about 1000 views, but I fear they were all my own.
How do you become a rising star? It sounds very Disney-like and exciting.
I don't even know, really. I got an e-mail last week saying that my Hub was nominated.
I have just recently hit 1000 views past week, and since then I have got another 700 views within one week. It's feels amazing to get first 1000 views as it feels like people are paying attention to what you have to say.
Oh wow. That is a LOT of views in one week! I completely agree. It does feel so great to know that that many people are interested in my writing.
Congratulations, StitchTheDamned... progress is what motivates us. You asked: "How excited were you to hit 1,000 views?"
My reply: When you look back years later, you would be surprised why you were so happy to reach 1,000 views. These days, when I get $3.00 a day from Google AdSense for my own websites, I told my mum, "Only $3.00!". And my mum reminded me how happy I was when I received my first 10 cents from AdSense that I called her on the phone, just to tell her that!
I have a video on the Bersih rally, a rally calling for free and fair elections in Malaysia. I created the video when the call was made about a month prior to the event. It was a bummer. But just 3 days before the actual event, it was chalking more than 100,000 views a day and in the end, I chalked up more than 400,000 views just from this one video alone. Moral of the story: External events do make a big difference in our page views. It's sometimes a hit and miss.
"Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry into Values" is a 1974 philosophical novel which explores the Metaphysics of Quality. The first of Robert M. Pirsig's texts, the novel entered the Guinness Book of Records for being rejected by 121 publishers, more than any other bestselling book. The book sold 5 million copies worldwide... I will be happy, if I ever publish a book and sell just 5,000 copies, LOL.
That is interesting to hear your point of view on that. I can see in a few years that 1,000 views seem like nothing. It is so exciting in the beginning though! 400,000 views? Holy crap. I can't even imagine getting that many.
I will have to look into that book. I love reading and that sounds interesting!
StitchTheDamned, neither do I. Even the organization that taught me video-editing haven't garner that much views for a single video so far! My 2nd highest YouTube video garnered 90,000 odd views... also unexpected.
Moral of the story is you don't know which hub is going to hit the big time. The more you do, the greater your chance.
That is very good advice. You can't bank everything on a single Hub or video. The more there are, the better the chances of hitting a great one. Thank you for the advice!
I just noticed that the title of this forum post is wrong. It should be "1,000 Page Views and a Rising Star".
Ha. i just realized that too. I must have been too excited and overlooked that.
Hey, congrats and welcome to the site! I hope you have a great future here.
Congrats on a job well done! And welcome to the site!!!
Congrats! I too, just won a rising star, reached over 1000 views, and have officially made 0.83! Yay. I am so stoked!
Thank you! And congratulations to you too!
Congratulations. Pretty excited until I saw the 10,000 mark for views. Whoof. Still working on that. Congrats.
Thank you! I am sure that you will make it. Just time and effort.
wow! congrats sticththedamned! how did you do that? some tips pls?
Thank you! Honestly, I haven't done a whole lot besides writing and sharing the links. I try to write at least one Hub every week. Once I publish it, I share the link on Facebook, Pinterest and Stumbleupon. Honestly, I have gotten very very few views from the external sites. Most of the views have come from Google and Hubpages.
Awesome job! I'm closing in on 100 views as well. I recently ame back to HubPages last week and sadly this week is a bit hectic for me and I have so much on my mind to Hub about!
I, too, was a Raising Star once. I was surprised, too. Because I was REALLY new when I was picked, I think it was my 6th Hub or something like that.
Keep up the good work!
Thank you! That is definitely good to have a mind full of ideas!
I suppose that is somewhat the point of it, to pick a very very new Hubber. I was really shocked by it, too. I love writing, but I have never gotten much recognition for it in the past.
Congratulations! I remember the feeling was pretty ecstatic when I reached 1000 views, but waiting for it to reach that magic number was like watching the grass grow!!
Haha. I bet. I have tried not to focus on the views too much, just because I want to focus on the writing, but I can agree!!
Congratulations. That's really great to hear that you're getting the recognition you deserve stitch!
Congratulation from my side to.
This is what inspire me to continue with my hubs. I made a pause and hope to be back soon. Also went over 1.000. Unfortunatelly, I wasn't active quite well and I would like to start again.
Good work and thank you for inspiration!
Thank you! I am glad to offer the inspiration. Best of luck to you on getting back to writing!
Congratulations on this wonderful achievement . I also felt really happy when I reached 1,000 views and received the accolade for it. For those that have been here a while and have passed such a milestone many times over, it may not seem like much, but for those who are new here, it can be such a good feeling to see that your hubs have been viewed a thousand times and you know it can't all be your views.
Thank you so much. I am sure that it really does seem like nothing to hit 1,000 views for those that have been here for a long time
Congrats on the achievement! Myself being very new to this, I only have 31 views and I can't wait to hit some of the bigger milestones. Got to stay motivated and keep at it!
Thank you! And definitely! Keep at it. The views will come in no time!
Oh, yeah, I saw one of your hubs listed on the newsletter as being nominated for the Rising Star. Congrats! The 1,000 views is a big milestone, as well.
Thank you so much! I hope that I am able to achieve another 1,000 in no time.
Congratulations.
I didn't notice my first 1,000 views, now I get 1000+ most days, which isn't "a lot" in the bigger scheme of things ... There's an accolade/icon when you get to 1,000,000 views; I'm approaching 2,000,000 views and apparently I won't get a new icon, it'll still just say 1,000,000.
See you in a couple of years when you're back here to tell us about your first 1,000,000.
All the best!
Oh wow. 1,000 views in one day? That seems so crazy. I am sure with a lot of work and dedication to writing that I might be able to get that as well. Congrats to you on so many views! And thank you
Hey congratulations! I myself have recently hit 1000 views and can relate to your excitement. Well done & keep it up!
Thank you! And congratulations on hitting 1,000 views as well!
Congratulations, StitchTheDamned! I've got a Rising Star last week too, but still on my way to 1,000 views. Hope will catch up with you soon too
Congratulations on the Rising Star! I am sure that you will reach 1,000 views as well. That accolade does help drive traffic from hubPages.
Congratulations. It seems like your post has attracted many rising stars and authors with over 1,000 views., including me. Let's keep up the great work and meet up again at the 10,000 mark
Thank you! And congratulations to you as well. 10,000 views sounds like another great meeting point. Who ever reaches 10,000 first, be sure to create a thread!
Congrats StitchTheDamned! I'm a candidate as a RIsing Star for my Preeclampsia article : hubpages.com/topics/health/2155 . I've been lagging on getting articles out since I recently moved and take care of my newborn, I hope to reach the 1,000 mark sometime soon like you It's cool that Hubpages has the diversity of articles written on here by all the hubbers. I seriously get lost in all the amazingness put out by writers like you and others. Keep up the good work!
Congratulations on the nomination and on your new little one! I know how difficult it is to get anything done with a newborn. Take your time and enjoy these moments. HubPages will be here waiting when you have more time to yourself. Best of luck to you on everything!
1000 views was a huge milestone for me. It seemed to take forever, but I just kept writing hubs and it happened. Then it seemed that I'd never see 10,000, but I kept going. Then 100,000. And now I know I'll never hit a million . Congratulations. Keep on keepin' on.
Oh wow! That is great. Those are a lot of views! I can't imagine hitting a million views. That would be amazing. lol. Thank you!

It seems that by some miracle I've won Rising Star not once, but twice! I am totally shocked, pleasantly surprised, and absolutely motivated to keep on writing. I won a few weeks ago on a hub about feeding dogs raw eggs, then again this week for a cookie recipe using coconut oil. At this point in...

I just checked to see when it was that I hit 100,000 views...it was 3 months ago. Today I hit 130,000! That means it took 2 years or so to hit 100,000 but only a fraction of that time to hit another 30,000! I am really shocked to see the numbers grow so fast all of a sudden, but I...

I just received word that one of my hubs got the Rising Star award! I am so excited and feel so blessed. I enjoy writing so much and these little milestones are a big encouragement. Thanks to all the wonderful hubbers out there for making this place welcoming!

Does the rising star award help your traffic overall?I have recently achieved the rising star accolade, and I'm wondering whether it makes a long term difference to your stats? For example, after the newsletter has went out and everything has settled, do you still get a steady stream of traffic to...
