Delenn: [Delenn's fleet arrives after Earth Alliance attacks B5] This is Ambassador Delenn of the Minbari. Babylon 5 is under our protection. Withdraw or be destroyed! Earth Force Officer: Negative! We have authority here. Do not force us to engage your ship. Delenn: Why not? Only one human captain has ever survived battle with a Minbari Fleet. He is behind me. You are in front of me. If you value your lives, be somewhere else!
I found this one when I was having problems with my health a few years back and it is always in the back of my mind when life gets a bit heavy. "One cannot always be a hero, but one can always be human" --Goethe
“Your problem is how you are going to spend this one and precious life you have been issued. Whether you're going to spend it trying to look good and creating the illusion that you have power over circumstances, or whether you are going to taste it, enjoy it and find out the truth about who you are.” ― Anne Lamott
"Once Zhuangzi dreamt he was a butterfly; a butterfly flitting and fluttering around, happy with himself and doing as he pleased. He didn’t know he was Zhuangzi. Suddenly he woke up and there he was, solid and unmistakeably Zhuangzi. But he didn’t know if he was Zhuangzi who had dreamt he was a butterfly, or a butterfly dreaming he was Zhuangzi." - Zhuang Zhou

(God agreed with Job: "My wrath is kindled against you and your two companions because you did not speak correctly, as did My servant Job." Job 42:7 - also note, Be careful about choosing your companions!)
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense. -Emerson
An elderly man who was a dear friend of mine, and very studied in the Bible, work, philosophy and a self-made carpenter told me this quote that has stayed with me. He told me this a few weeks before passed. He said that a young man once told him of his marriage woes and that the new groom was obviously rethinking his marriage to his bride. After listening for an hour to the young man rant and rave, my friend looked at him and said, "When you first sense a spat coming on and you feel the urgency to be right--you have a choice to make. Do you want to be right or be happy?" The young man took it to heart and from that day he never unloaded any more marriage woes on my friend.

Aside from the impact on people who fail in life and wouldn't have a government to help them out, are their any negatives to a society that offers no social programs (in my thoughts this would be except disability)?
