Even though US politics is at a fevered pitch today I decided to take a break and make a list of some of my favorite youtube videos. Has anybody else done something like this? Or are there any additions you'd like to my list?
Heres my list: http://hubpages.com/hub/top5
I agree - check this one out. I did it to celebrate the New Year.
http://hubpages.com/hub/Funny-Photos-fr … -the-World
Ummm idk i think about 90% of those were more offensive than funny
LOL Too many political jokes for you?
Actually, I would be interested in which 90% of those you found offensive.
Well the religious and sexual ones were offensive... the political ones i just didn't think were funny. However, there were some I thought were pretty funny.
Here is your first comment. Argumentative? I think so.
it was just my opinion... if I remember correctly you kept asking me over and over again what I meant... why did you care so much if I thought they were offensive?
Yeah funny ... can't you find one my sister saw once except it wasn't a joke: on a door of a british café: "No dog, No French"
It's not a joke one, but the Youtube video on this Hub makes me smile every time I see it.
http://hubpages.com/hub/Slow-Down-Aging--Your-Brain
I hope I'm still that limber at 90!
LOL Seriously, you found 90% of then offensive? There were only a few religious and sexual ones, and how on earth could you find them offensive?
90% was an exaderation but some of them were very offensive
How about the very first picture? a bunch of strippers lined up with words written on their butts? oh and not to mention all of the different versions of pseudo-porn... especially the ones involving kids......
And strippers are offensive how exactly? God created them that way.
You will make a great politician some day.
Ok, I find practically naked women being exploited as offensive... but i guess I'm crazy
As much as he/she makes anything, yes - I though God was all powerful ? But that was more a dig a college politico's fake outrage and "stand" against the "exploitation" of women. I do not believe he actually looked at my collection and his first statement was that 90% of them were offensive.
And yes, some overly sensitive, holier-than-thou, let's kill some people because they hold different views to us people seem to get offended at a photo of girls with very little clothes on.
Anyone who things that post should be classed as pornography needs their head examined.
And when college say's he would like to see your funny posts, what he means is he would like to see your funny posts that HE will find funny, and if he doesn't find them funny, he will tell you what he finds unfunny about them.
And blessedmommy - I seriously doubt you have looked at these photos either. I am sorry if you got offended, but I think you are more offended at what you think might be there than actually there. There is not a single photo there that could be considered pornography.
I"m just wondering... were you drunk when you wrote this? There's several pictures of naked men/women and people having sex. I suppose where you're from that isn't defined as pornography?
I think it's safe to assume you have never has sex then. There is one picture of people pretending to have sex in a race.
No I was not drunk when I wrote this. Quite frankly I am surprised you are continuing this conversation. I have yet to see you in any thread on the forum that didn't end in an argument. If you are offended by the idea of people having sex, I suggest you take your hang ups to a therapist where they may be better attended to. Please do not try and inflict your misguided moral philosophies on me.
You started this whole argument because what I find funny offends your ridiculous sensibilities. I do not for one second believe you are continuing this for any other reason than to have an argument. I do not for one second believe you care one iota about people being objectified for the sexual pleasure of others, but if you do, you should be out there doing something about it.
I thought they were a great collection of graphics, Mark. Thanks for taking the time to put them together.
Thank you gamer girl - I was just trying to brighten everyone's day and lighten things up a little. But you can't please all the people all the time.
The women in those photos are not being "exploited."
Besides, -I- like nekkid women.
you're totally right... its not like their bodies are being sold for profit
gamergirl - Thank you, I agree and college is just looking for an argument. I like nekkid women too. Who doesn't?
College politico - sarcasm doesn't suit you. You are making yourself look dumb.
Well, there you go again. I made it perfectly clear that this was not a paying hub. I am not looking for money from this...I just wanted to lighten things up a little.
Like I said earlier...You will make a great politician someday. And if you know me at all, you know my opinion of politicians.
That seems odd since there are google ads all over your hub...
No I was just looking to get away from arguments. What I wasn't looking for was porn that you've labeled as "funny"
You're right, they ARE exploited. By themselves.
tr.v. (Äk-sploit', Ä›k'sploit') ex·ploit·ed, ex·ploit·ing, ex·ploits
To employ to the greatest possible advantage: exploit one's talents.
To make use of selfishly or unethically: a country that exploited peasant labor. See Synonyms at manipulate.
To advertise; promote.
So, while we all know that you are taking the WORST POSSIBLE CONNOTATION of the word, It is clear, and in fact REQUIRED that naughty pictures come with something called consent, and not just once but numerous times. First off, they have to sign a release stating that their image can be used. Secondly they need to show proof that they are 18+ for US 2257 compliance.
So, I'd venture to say that they are using an advantage, being that they are all beautiful.
But then, everything is a conspiracy tonight.
Oh yea you're completely right... prostitutes, strippers, porn stars... none of them are being exploited by others.
What about objectified? Do you think they aren't being treating like worthless pieces of meat?
No wait let me guess... they're just empowering themselves right?
See? I can do it too. Can I be a politician as well?
*chuckles* Thanks Mark, for helping my mood.
Interesting... I didn't change the meaning of any of your quotes. I only cut it down so you would know what I was responding to.
LOL I am going to bed. But I stand by what I said . This was supposed to be fun and you will make a GREAT politician.
Yes this was supposed to be fun... but instead you wanted to post nudity and sex. thanks.
Women who wear the bare minimum or nothing at all are not being exploited, hehe. They make money by exploiting us droolers!
I love that, Kenny. You're exactly right! I love a woman wearing the bare essentials.
It's so nice to hear a woman expressing those sentiments, it doesn't happen very often. People are too politically correct these days.
I'm not saying there aren't women who are exploited as prostitutes etc. However all the exotic dancers I've ever met are in control of their lives, thank you.
As Billy Connolly once said, "If you think I'm daft, standing up here on stage makin' a fool of myself - just ask yourself, who paid to get in?"
So you don't think pornography or stripping is degrading to women?
I wouldn't feel comfortable making such a sweeping statement. But as far as exotic dancing is concerned - pole dancing, stripping etc - I don't believe the dancer feels exploited. A dancer's instrument is her body and when it's in good condition, she's proud of it and likes showing it off. Most dancers have few inhibitions about nakedness anyway - I can still remember guys wandering through the girls' dressing rooms and vice versa. Finally, most performers have a bit of an ego, which is fed by audience attention. And there's no audience attention more rapt than a bunch of guys watching a stripper.
So generally speaking, I'd expect most dancers to get a kick out of that kind of performance - and judging by the dancers I've met, I'm right. They're usually reasonably well paid, too, and well looked after by the club where they perform. Of course, if the dancer is expected to provide other "services" as well as dancing, that's a completely different story...
As for porn - well, it depends what you mean. I don't object to nude photos but I could live without the graphic stuff.
Mark, I'm sorry your thread here got sullied by argumentative and negative comments.
I thought the hub was cool, even if it did have one picture with bare butts showing.
One picture? did you look through the whole thing?
Really? so you're saying theres no sex or nudity in that hub?
Good night Mark!! Again, thanks for the hilarious hub!
I think I'm gonna go have some of the lamb stew my roommate made, read a book (you know, the kind that is bound in paper. ^.^) and then get some rest myself. Work comes early in the morning.
Coming back to why Mark's hub is funny. It's because we are so tired of having to watch our step everytime we move and speak, and be politically correct. It's not enough to love all, but to be unnaturally aware of what words are in or out...
This hub is a welcome relief, where we can laugh wildly like kids. It's also a gutsy one, which trusted us to take it right.
Did someone mention porn? (I may just be the only person on topic here )
Ok lets just restart this... anybody have funny (non-adult) hubs?
Heres mine: http://hubpages.com/hub/top5
http://hubpages.com/_1cmxl538uxi4c/hub/ … -ever-seen got the idea from mark, its a collection of great videos...
and if you love optical illusions and phsics tricks check this one out:
http://hubpages.com/_1cmxl538uxi4c/hub/ … -Illusions
their are two in there that are extraordinary, the moving picture book and the hologram you can make at home to make an episode of star trek (beam in and all that)
I love those sidewalk chalk illusions...
I agree with Marisa.
Pornography, the word, is a relative sociological term.
Nudes that celebrate male or female beauty is fine; it doesn't degrade. I can't relish the 'graphic' stuff. If no nudes is good news, the great artists would have had big problems.
Their work would be certified porn.
Some nude models are exhibitionists; they enjoy the attention and the money.
Some just do it for the money.
If they are forced into it, they are exploited. Which I object to.
Otherwise, the willing ones are exploiting the viewers, not the other way round.
I feel the same about casting couches. If women are forced or lured into it against their will, that's exploitation. But if someone uses what she has to get to the top, it's her business, and she is the one doing the exploiting. As long as everybody's happy.
I think that women who do these things are making themselves no better than cattle - they are making themselves available for the consumption of human lust. They are admitting they are cheap because they are putting a price tag on their worth. At the same time, they are selling their right to ever live in a trustful and happy marital relationship. Even if they do marry, they will never be completely trusted, and will never truly belong to their husband because there will be pictures of them floating around with drool all over them. And what should have been reserved for her husband's pleasure has been made available to the world.
Imagine my surprise when I log into HubPages and featured under the HOME tag page were these crude photos! The author admits that he has no doubt that he has broken some if not all of HubPages rules, but posts them anyway! Then, it's featured in the HOME tag fan club!!! Is this what the world's homes are coming to?
This isn't a matter of political correctness, it's moral correctness. Morals are nothing anymore and our world is dearly paying for it. Morals are nearly nonexistent and pictures like these and their models are contributing to the moral decline. Is it really innocent?
Many live by an affair of the mind as a result of these type of photos. It ignites a desire in the hearts of people that they act upon. Many are infested with disease and dying with AIDS. Our little girls are feeling the pressures of society and are starving themselves with anorexia. They see these pretty bodies and think this is how they will get the guys to notice so they dress very immodestly trying to get affection but instead they get raped. Many of these girls suffer with depression because they never feel "good enough." Happy homes with loving wives and children are broken up and destroyed - all for a little pleasure.
You raised so many questions in one post I doubt I'm able to answer all of them right away. But I'll give it a try
I quoted your original post here (with the exception of your essay on women prices), so we don't have to dig for it.
I did not say you performed "personal" attack on Mark, I said you attacked him. I meant you attacked what he did. I can re-phrase - you attacked his values, and, by the way, you attacked HP staff for not doing their job as you think they should, too. This is the first paragraph of the quoted text.
Now, we can say that Mark defended the things he stands for - this does not change a bit. He still was a defending party. I agree he made a personal attack on you, though - and I said that I think it was overkill.
Then, you linked the kind of pics Mark published to AIDS, raping, teen girls depressions, and broken up and destroyed homes - did I read your other paragraphs correctly? I do think that logically it is blaming that on people like Mark, and on him personally.
I'm not going to discuss moral values and causes and consequences here. Obviously we have different opinions on those, and this subject is so huge we need much more than the forum thread to reach any level of understanding here
Now, about Politico. Frankly, I think she deserves what she is getting. More, I think she enjoys it. Consciously or subconsciously. Just try to look up her other threads - all that I can recall at the moment turned into bickering pretty fast. This girl asks for it, and she receives what she asks for... This thread is no exception. Mark replied to the request with his hub, and got a very critical review. This review was both ungrounded (as majority seems to think here), and (more importantly) unasked for. That was the start...
About re-opening the subject. This has been done many times over the life of this thread, and I see both parties, as well as newcomers, guilty in this
Hope I managed to answer all your questions
Umm... why do you keep saying I'm a girl?
And sure I enjoy debating... What I don't enjoy are people who keep bringing something up over and over again and forcing me to respond... it gets old. Especially when those same people complain about the fact that I respond when they bring it up again.
Mark replied to this post with sexually explicit and nude photos and "got a very critical review". OH NO! WHAT HAS THE WORLD COME TO? I gave mark a critical review for breaking the rules of hubpages and google... How dare I?
"This review was both ungrounded (as majority seems to think here)"
You're completely right, I should stop because about 5 people on this forum like his hub... good call.
"(more importantly) unasked for"
You're right again... Because people should only criticize something when the author asks them too. Thats how criticism works right?
I understand what you both mean. But I have some problems with what you're saying:
1. even though a stripper or porn star might enjoy the attention... I think we might all agree that the attention has absolutely nothing to do with her as a person but rather is on her naked body. They are treating her as an object. I mean do you think any of the guys in a strip bar really even care what the strippers name is?
2. The kind of artistic nude photos you're talking about are only about .0000001 percent of the porn industry... most of it is disgusting and dehumanizing. Again do you think when men are watching porn they give a damn about the person and don't you think that has a psychological effect on the person performing and watching?
But I really wish we could just get back to what the thread was originally about...
I have quite a few good friends in that line of business. And yes, I care what their names are - they are friends. It's their chosen line of work.
I've heard it said that some respectable people go to work every day to design better guns and bombs. But I can't believe that, can you? They'd be almost as evil as dancers, heaven forfend!
Its not your fault... but if you have any funny posts I'd love to see them.
Ah, thanks, College politico.
Usually I mix my humour with my hubs of info or tips; rarely do I do pure fun ones. The rare ones are:
http://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-control- … --foreword
That's the first hub of a series of nine.
http://hubpages.com/hub/Ogden-Nash-and-me
Five funny poems on animals.
http://hubpages.com/hub/Riddles-and-Puns
The others are not pure fun; humour is only a natural addition.
Thanks for asking, take your pick.
Really? In you're job are you objectified and dehumanized for the sexual pleasure of others?
Uh oh looks like someone violated the forum rules...
Would appreciate the quote of the exact rule you think I violated
Unless we're talking human trafficking and slavery, strippers still have a choice. A body, like a mind is a tool. Just ask Britney or Christina. It is their marketable comparative advantage.
He wants to know if you work with people who treat you like a common prostitute.
I'm guessing most men might actually enjoy that kind of thing.
how bout this mark... why don't you actually follow the rules of hubpages? last time I checked nudity and pornography are not aloud on here...
And I'm really starting to wonder when the last time you checked your own hub was...
None of the pictures have nudity or sex?
How about the woman in the disgusting Belgium advertisement?
or the naked woman with the nuns?
or the motorcycle?
or the weird Asian home-made porn dummy?
or the naked guy taking pictures?
or the people having sex in a race?
or the meat/vegetables shaped to look like genitals?
or the naked guy at a soccer game?
or the penis sculpture?
or the woman with the tattoo?
or the multiple drawings of a naked woman?
or the soap dispenser?
or the two people having sex in the club?
On a side note, some of the other pictures where funny and then a lot of them were just sick and twisted. I mean how is the dog with a dead body funny?
Oh for Gods sake. If you really think his hub is breaking rules, flag it, and move on. If hubpages agrees with your accusations, they will ask him to remove some pics. If not - not!
I would love to move on... I tried to several times... unfortunately somebody brings it up again after about 2 on-topic posts...
But getting back to the purpose of this thread... do you have any funny hubs isabella?
here mine: http://hubpages.com/hub/top5
That soap dispenser is pretty funny. I have an awesome collection of toilet design photos that are funny/offensive to some. Perhaps another hub
Mark!! Post it, I will thumbs up it just like I did the hub which has gotten a certain someone's knickers in a twist.
Can't please everyone.. and some shouldn't be pleased. Keep hubbing and exposing humor to those who appreciate it, and well, anyone who has an issue can certainly take it up with you privately I'm sure. Until then, CHEERS!
I think that nudity would be more so full on nakedness. These women are still wearing clothes, what little there is, but there are clothes on them... You didn't have to look at the pictures. You clicked on the link, College...
Like Isabella said, flag it, and let the team decide. I don't think there's anything too offensive in the hub. That's just me though...
As for exploitation, strippers and women of that profession tend to choose the job. They may be degrading themselves, but it's not exploitation. Exploitation would be more like if they were forced to do it. Most strippers have their eggs in a basket, most anyway. I know a few that have families with kids and such. They strip for extra income; they may not need a lot of extra cash but what they bring in helps. Plus, they don't have to change their appearance for a job- tattoos, piercings, etc.
And, as a male, I find it odd, not impossible, just odd, that you are offended by partially nude women. You'd be the first male that I've ever heard that from.
I think this entire post has evolved into something ridiculous. So much for a break from the serious...
I'm not just talking about the very first picture though... Theres several with full on nudity in one form or another.
The internet is about 99% porn... why do people feel the need to bring porn into the other 1%
College . Have you any idea how ridiculous you sound?
The last time I checked, there was only one kind of nudity...The one where you have no clothes on and in all those photos people have their clothes on. By far the majority are non sexual, but you have fixated on the one image.
And how you can possibly consider this pornography is beyond me. Maybe YOUR internet is 99% porn, but mine seems to be 99% spurious advertising and control freaks.
Seriously, if it offends you that bad, flag it and complain.
I agree with Mark and Whitney.
Working in the adult industry myself (I do market research, nothing glitzy or sleazy like production, filming or starring) I can honestly say that while there are a -ton- of porn sites out there, they are definitely a minority when weighed in against the rest of the content on the internet.
There is more content present on the internet based on non-adult (in the industry we call this 'mainstream') topics than porn. But, as the saying goes, sex sells. I can assure you, however, that if Mark's hub fell into one of the taboo categories for hubs it would've been disabled by now, especially with all the negative press you're trying to give it, college.
Everybody sees what he wants to see, and ignores the rest. That's human nature
I just when through the hub again... There are 4 100% nude pictures.
1 is a religious picture.
1 is of a woman's backside.
1 is of a man, but you cannot see anything, not even nipples.
1 is of a man's backside.
There is a photo man with clothes, but you can see his bum.
The soap dispenser is blurred, so that really doesn't count, although it is a nude frontal shot, you can't see anything offensive. You can use your imagination, though.
There are 3 nude drawings of a woman.
The children in the hub, if nude, are cropped before you see anything but shoulders.
There are a lot of thongs, bra strapes, etc. But taking into account of the immense number of photos, the 9 that I have pointed out, isn't a large percent.
And, there's only one form of nudity... No clothes... This does not include partial clothed people.
And if everybody wants to move on then why do you guys keep bringing it up... I'm completely willing to just move on but if you keep objecting to things I've said then I'm going to keep responding...
Nice way to cut a quote so it says something that I didn't mean...
I'm only going to keep responding if people keep talking about what I've already said...
If you want to just drop it that would be fine with me
Sweetheart, I have, this entire disemboweled thread, been defending the hub YOU have been criticizing.
I'm not sorry for anything I've said, however I am done being baited by your argumentative nature. I hope you find happiness and joy, and that all aspects of your life improve. Good luck and good day.
I'm sorry that you see me as argumentative but at the same time I'm not going to lay down and agree with anybody just to avoid a confrontation.
I would like to echo your pleasantries. Even though I strongly disagree with you I still wish you no harm and, in fact, I hope you are doing quite well.
That's politics. But seriously, one...thanks for all the attention you have generated for my hub, and two, the only way this is going to get dropped is if yours is NOT the last comment. Think about it.
Then I guess its never ending... you think about it
Actually Im going to edit this...
Forget my never ending thing...
I'm just wondering why you have to have the last comment? Why not just stop the argument now?
Politico, what was the point of apologizing a few weeks ago if you're just going to get people all worked up again.
I realize there are some very big hypocrites in this thread, but the argument is just going round and round and its unlikely anyone really cares who's right at this point.
Why dont you just make a hub on the evils of porn or summat?
Please believe me that it wasn't my intention to start an argument... I just wanted to post some funny videos in the forums
Maybe so, but that becomes irrelevant when you keep on going with it.
college has pretty much made it clear he's going to keep on arguing. Until his is the last comment.
Well actually I'd much prefer if we just get back to what the thread was originally about....
Does anybody else have a funny hub to post?
heres mine: http://hubpages.com/hub/top5
Because you came back and said that after about 30 seconds. Which told me you hadn't actually looked at them. And I hate being judged so quickly by someone like you.
Also, we are on a public forum that any one can read, so I felt the need to defend myself by asking you to elaborate.
You were unable to do so, because you hadn't looked at them. Which lowered my estimation of you considerably. ( Not great to start with.) You have consistently argued the toss with all and sundry. Just because YOU do not find them funny, does not make them not funny.
Now, I like a good argument as well as the next guy, but you are out of order and as far as I can tell, not big enough to say you jumped to conclusions and will keep on arguing till the cows come home.
I have only seen you in a few forum threads, but you have consistently ended up in an argument like this.
No I was able to do so... I had looked at a lot of them before I said that and I've explained myself thoroughly. I did find some of them funny... Others I found extremely offensive. (just because YOU don't find them offensive, does not make them offensive) Overall I don't think it belongs on this site... and yes, I have reported it.
I'm out of order? You're the one whose violated the rules buy posting nude and sexually explicit photos and cut quotes of me to make it seem like I said something I didn't.
Now could we please get back to the topic that I started this thread for?
Sure. Check out my collection of funny photos that I made to celebrate the New Year|:
http://hubpages.com/hub/Funny-Photos-fr … -the-World
Thank you...
heres mine: http://hubpages.com/hub/top5
Dude, that's some seriously offensive stuff there. How is a black man being forced to undergo surgery to have his hands attached to his back funny? You should be ashamed of yourself.
Sarcasm is a little beyond your capabilities I think.
Or would that be considered a personal attack, Misha?
I can't believe that such a wholsome request this fellow made could end up so perverted.............Hey go to youtube and type in horrible singer o holy night, it is very very funny. This guy surely can't think he can sing.
have you ever seen Omazing grace? Its so funny
Oh my goodness yes, that was hilarious. I can't imagine why he was called up there to sing. He tried to really get down with it too.....did'nt know the words.
Its so funny... he couldn't even get the amazing grace part right... haha
speaking of hilarious, heres that video you were talking about singingmommy: http://youtube.com/watch?v=6lHHQu4CIos
As long as Politico is after Mark, he's not after me
You had to bring it back up didn't you?
Voulez vous un argument aussi?
I fail to see how this was aimed at you. I would ask you to explain, but I really don't want to get into it.
As far as I can tell, Hubpages have a good system for deleting flagged hubs and no doubt, if I have broken their rules, this hub will be deleted or unpublished in due course, so I shouldn't worry about it too much. Or at least as much as you seem to be.
It was not my intention to offend anyone, although I am not going to apologize for offending you, because I don't think you are actually offended. For one you didn't even look at my hub - You just seem to be looking for an argument. I have not seen you in any thread on these forums that didn't degenerate into an argument similar to this. If I honestly believed there was something in that hub that would be genuinely offensive, I would have never published it in the first place. And if I honestly believed there was something that offended you, I would have removed the hub also.
I happen to find people like you funny. The interesting thing as far as I am concerned is that I only ever meet them online. They are not brave enough in the real world to provoke people in this fashion. And please don't get into the "well I'll meet you in the real world and we'll see," stuff - we both know that is not going to happen.
On a cheerier note, thanks to your promotional efforts on my behalf, I have garnered 30 new fans and my hub has received a large number of page views that I don't think it would have received (600 page views, 25 comments and a hubscore 89) and you have persuaded me that I should leave it up rather than delete it as was my original intention. So, thank you.
The hub you started this with would fail the hubpage rules as far as I am concerned by being low quality. I do not consider 5 videos copied from youtube to be particularly useful or adding to the community in any way shape or form. I, along with many of the other people on the internet have seen them already. But, I will tell you what I won't be doing:
I will not be flagging that hub.
I will not be ranting and raving about it on the forums.
I will not be starting another forum thread asking what happens when a hub gets flagged and complaining that someone is doing something here that I don't agree with
I will not be spending too much time worrying about it
Seriously, you need to think about what sort of image you are projecting, both on your own behalf and on hubpages'. I am certainly not impressed and it seems there are others who feel the same way. If I felt you were adding something constructive here I would be your biggest fan. As it is, I want nothing to do with you because you seem to be working solely to your own agenda. I am afraid bible bashing, fake outrage at the inexcusable behavior of someone who happens to think differently to you does not work outside the confines of the American electoral system.
Ok I'm not sure if you realize this yet.... But you're opinion of me is absolutely meaningless in my eyes.
I think I've delayed College on another thread. You've got some time.
Thanks. he's rather entertaining...In much the same way a car crash is. I am going with 19 years old, American mid-westerner who's never had sex...with a woman anyway. And way much braver than he would be in real life.
I meet a lot of his kind online. I rarely meet them in person though. That's possibly the most interesting thing. These people only exist online
And which thread?... I am keen to watch. I may even step in.
hahahahahhahahaha was that really your best attempt at an insult?
