For those who didn't read the "where else do you write" thread, I have been waiting to hear whether I will have a book actually published by someone real, and I just heard today that I got the deal!
The best part is that the bulk of the slogging through reams of previously written stuff, editing, formatting, chasing up interviews, and so on, will be done by a professional writer with years of experience, so I won't have to become a hermit for two years.
The book will be called Raising Entrepreneurs, and will focus on teaching kids about money and business. All profits will go to microfinance charities. (Don't know what they are? By some weird co-incidence I have just answered a request on that topic! http://hubpages.com/hub/Best-Value-Plac … nate-Money)
Serendipity, co-incidence, or opportunity-meets-preparedness? I'm not sure, but at this point, I really don't care!
Colour me happy (and I'll spell it MY way this time )
Jenny
Kenny, I missed the picture of your kitten. It looks like my cat, when he was younger.
Will tell my kitten that you enquired. Thanks!
That's awesome for sure, such an accomplishment! What a great subject too, my 4 kids could really use it, actually just 3, I have one who is pretty stingy! Congrats!
Thanks everyone.
It makes such a difference knowing that something I write is actually going to be printed, and sit in bookshops, and be scribbled on, and bent backwards and creased at the spine!
My regards to Kenny's kitten, too.
Jenny
Congratulations Jenny! What an accomplishment! I dream of the day when I can say I am a published author.... Hope you find a special way to celebrate.
Best, Steph
Hard work, eventually comes to fruition... how thrilling to have this come to pass finally - I am sure.

If you do at least a book a year, Jenny, you will be a famous author one day. That's what Wodehouse says. Looking forward to that, cheers!
Good for you Jenny.
I wish you all the best with that.
Mark
Well done and good luck for your future as a published author.

That is wonderful news! I'm so happy for you
Congrats!!!!
Thanks again, everyone.
The official announcement has now been posted on the blog at http://www.booksforfree.org/
Take note - Peter will be doing this again next year, and he's taking applications now. If you're a keen writer and you're happy to donate the proceeds of your book to charity, hop on over and look at the submission guidelines.
Jenny
P.S. Feel free to leave a comment on his blog telling him what a great thing he's doing
Congrats! I need to start working on my book again. I hit a stump, and haven't really picked it up since. Plus, I like to edit on paper, and I kind of misplaced my drafts... Oops. Guess I'll be reprinting what I have again..
Anyway. Congrats. When will it be available?
Congrats, Jenny! This is awsome news! I remember the excitement I felt when I had my first poem published! Please keep us posted on this and when and where it will be avaliable!

Congrats! It's always so sweet to achieve something you've been striving hard for.
It should be available in stores around this time next year, if all goes to plan.
Do you think I should make a new thread about applying to be Peter's co-author for next year? Maybe people who have already commented won't be following this thread any more ...
Jenny
Nice work, and what a wonderful cause. Congratulations - I can't wait to buy a copy!

I am stunned!I logged in to moderate a comment, and my eBay Hub has a score of 100 - my first ever!Given that these things tend to last about two and a half minutes, I took a screen shot for posterity. I just wanted to have a tiny celebration at having hit my first milestone, 1,000 page views...It took around 15 hubs, 8 days and a fair bit of promotion to get there, but I'm really pleased.I mainly shared on Google+ and Twitter and also answered questions on the forums here, HupHopped and...

I have been here for 17 months and today is the day when my 29 hubs have been viewed for 100.000 times. What do you think? Is that good? I'm quite proud.

My first booklet Past Times: Ancient Board Games went live on Amazon.com today. The ebook came out yesterday. Self published, but still feel it's an accomplishment. It is about historical board games, something a number of my hubs have been about... it was fun to write, the second one is in editing...
