I was super excited to see that YouTube picked my channel (Create with Claudia) as today's (Oct. 9, 2020) "Creator on the Rise". Honestly, I can't believe that I'm on their trending page for the next 24 hours.
I started out writing here about 8 years ago on a whim. Never even considered writing online at all. I saw an ad in an online newspaper and decided to give it a try. I stuck to it and it took a while, but my numbers and support here grew and grew. About 2 years ago I got up the nerve to quit my part time job and try my hand at my own website.
Now I have my own website, I'm getting decent traffic on my YouTube channel, I'm one of the editors over at CraftGossip[dot]com, and one of my projects here was featured in Woman's World magazine.
And yeah, this might be a bit of a bragging post (sorry about that)...but the reason I wanted to write this was to point out that I never would have gotten to this point without writing for HubPages. And more importantly, that it never would have happened if I hadn't stuck with it, even when I was frustrated with traffic and income. It did not happen overnight.
I also want to thank the staff at HubPages/Maven for their hard work. I was one of the freelance photographers who took photos for them when they were sprucing up a lot of the articles here a few years back. They work hard & it takes a lot more work than you might think to keep a site like this running.
