Hey Hubberville,
Have you noticed some of the changes now on HubPages?
Example: The "quote" button is now gone.
Example: I noticed on someone else profile the word "Elite".
Anyone else see these yet?

Just a example -
I think the "elite" title is a hubpages/freemason conspiracy.
I noticed the quote button being replaced by reply button but didn't notice the elite title...where do I see that one at?
I was just asking a simple question, Cags..I didn't see the change
And, that's not why I did it.
I did it because I posted Waynet's description in a post to point it out to you.
Yet, you overlooked it. That's why.
I read that actually cagsil but I wanted to see it for myself. I just wanted someone to tell me where I can see it for myself because I don't see it
Loathe the new quote system with a passion.
"Elite" is guaranteed to put me off exploring that person's hubs. I prefer to use my own judgement to find people of worth, regardless of whether they have x years standing and hundreds of hubs or a couple of weeks and one hub.
Elite is the name for your lord and master waynet and a few select others who help out behind the scenes....we shall be taking over the planet with our hubber ways!!!muwahahahahaha!
Now take my hand and kneel before waynet!
Only joking don't cry!
To be honest, the "elite" rank is making me seriously consider whether I want to continue here.
It should not weigh in any part of your decision. So, don't let it bother you.
I hate elitism, especially when it is imposed on me. I have the brains to decide on my own about who is worthy and who is not.
But, that still shouldn't have anything to do with why you are here. You write, you associate with whomever you choose to. It's not a title of authority, it's a title of appreciation.
I suppose its the staff's way of saying thanks to the volunteers; in that case I have no problem with it
Please have a look at the site update post, which addresses these updates:
http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/35524
Thanks.
The title elite or the letter 'e' does not bother me they are merely the people who also assist the wonderful staff with making this an even better place. I already have an 'E' in my name for EXTRAORDINARY! hehehehhehe just kidding.
Seriously don't concern yourself with a title it always takes the worker-bees to create a company and all of us are a TEAM which stands for " Together Everyone Achieves More" without us HP could not exist so hang in there, keep writing and have fun! forget the title.
I didn't notice the changes at all. I must have been using the new 'reply' button without even realising it.
Is that a good thing, or a bad thing?
Well, if you HIT "reply" on someone's post, then the quote will be included.
If you simply HIT "post a reply" then you wouldn't be quoting anyone at all.
Hi Cagsil! Am just trying this out. They seem to have made it easier.
Hmmm -- I don't know how to use the formatting tags.
A shame it doesn't show it the reply post window so a person can edit it to the bit they're specifically replying to.
I'm not exactly sure what you mean.
There is a message that appears, above the box, giving instructions on how to quote certain things. If needed. It's now manual control.
If a person had a very long post I would remove the paragraphs that I wasn't referring to.
As well as getting straight to the point it meant less clutter too.
I think we're going to get a lot more clutter in the forum threads now.
I've been copying and pasting the part of the quote I want to use, and manually using the quote formatting tags. It takes ages though.
That was the intention. I remember a short while back, some people were complaining about the reply and quote buttons.
And, now HubPages Staff have created the solution.
Okay, I've it figured out.
Easy, but that takes a little longer than before (for me, anyway).
cheers to all the "behind the scenes" elites.
and to all the "behind the scenes" not-so-elites.
Umm, yeah, volunteers definitely need to be recognized and thanked, just don't think "elite" is the right word for the job, but could be just my ESL of course
But this one for example does not make a tiny bit of sense to me http://hubpages.com/profile/NotRush . Elite? In 2 hours 1 hub and no followers? With a score of 29? Gimme a break... It sounds really offensive to people like Mark or Hal or Isabella, and quite a few others who are really HP elite..
Yes. That is strange. I'd appreciate it if somebody could explain that.
Change is great and it shows that the staff are working hard behind the scenes.
However like Misha I do have to say WTF on the latest elite member. I am certain someone somewhere had to screwup. if not i think we are owed an explanation because i can think of many other hubbers who should have the e and they dont.
Cheers
Dale
It could very well be a unnamed employee, who has never opened an account, but helped behind the scene.
It could be a son of someone who works for HubPages and has helped in the past.
I'm not offended by it, because it's not that big of a deal.
I do my part, by doing what I can in the forums for those I can. I don't need the "E" or "Elite" status for me to continue to do what I have already been doing.
Just a thought.
I was thinking along the same lines. Nevertheless, I don't know.
And I think Misha is right when he says that Elite might be the wrong word.
Another thing, those who are new to HubPages, or don't know what we know, will probably assume the Elite Hubbers are literally better than the rest of us, or considered so in the eyes of HubPages Staff.
elite, élite [ɪˈliːt eɪ-]
n
1. (sometimes functioning as plural) the most powerful, rich, gifted, or educated members of a group, community, etc.
2. (Communication Arts / Printing, Lithography & Bookbinding) Also called twelve pitch a typewriter typesize having 12 characters to the inch
adj
of, relating to, or suitable for an elite; exclusive
The HubPages Elite are Hubbers who go the extra mile and manage special programs we have here on HubPages, including the HubGreeters, HubNuggets Team, the HubMob and the HubChallenge.
What would you suggest?
Helper?
Assistant?
Those don't sound much better, then people will automatically run to them for help or assistance.
So, how is it a win-win for everyone?
Remember, you cannot please everyone all of the time. At best, you can only please a portion, because no matter what...someone is going to say something, just to create separation or make things look negatively.
So, now what?
Just another thought.
For some reason a lot of new Hubbers are being automatically tagged as HubNugget Team Members, which is why you're seeing people listed as HubPages Elite. Paul will likely fix this problem soon.
The real HubNugget Team ends with ProCW on the HubPages Elite page.
And yes, it is literally impossible to come up with a name that everyone will like. We liked Elite best.
Okay now I see it because darkside has the little green 'e'. okay i am satisfied now

Hey Crazd, see where it says "Elite" next to HubPages.
Plus, the little e in the corner is another way to tell.
But I think the green that the staff has is okay..they should make the green more like an emerald green
Yes I am lol but hey they wanna look good emerald green would make 'em look good
That's in your opinion. I would suggest a different color, but I'm going to remain silent about it, because I'm not going to be mocked for what I think about it.
oh come on Cags what color would you pick?
I just took a look at the HubPages Elite Page.
We are all invited to volunteer to one of the teams. So any one of us could have an 'E' if we wanted to.
PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE CAGSIL??????????????????
What saddens me the most is the fact that some take it personal! Aren`t we supposed to be a community? Well, let`s be a Joyful, Grateful one. It is impossible to please each end every one of us...
If it is for the betterment of the community, right on!

Since a discussion concerning this subject on another thread was apparently disturbing some folks there--and I do agree it was off topic--I am taking Norah's advice and putting the question here. I didn't really know what topic forum to use but I suppose someone will move it if it is in the...

I was just creating a hub about Grace Kelly, and as soon as I typed her name in the title area Hubpages popped up a title suggestion stating this is an "exclusive" title that should get good traffic. Has anyone had this happen? If so, did that hub get a lot of traffic?

Has anyone else noticed the same on their hubpages traffic?Though traffic has been low lately, I'm getting more traffic from Bing than I'm getting from Google.

I've been experiencing a drop in traffic for the last week or so. I've been seeing a lot of people in the forums talking about how they are seeing increases in traffic, but I am seeing the opposite. Is anyone else seeing a drop in traffic?

Has anyone else noticed ads coming across hubs when trying to read others' hubs?I noticed more than once while reading others' hubs that ads are placed right on top of the writer's words in their hub. I could not even read what was written due to the ad over the words. They seem to be some...
