   I'm really excited and want to share the news with friends that I know will appreciate how it feels.
   
   I am a big music lover, and there is a song that has "haunted" me for years.  It's a song I used to hear on a local radio station that prided itself on playing off-the-wall songs that most people haven't heard before.  This song was one they played often, but I never caught who it was by or what the name was.
   
   The station is gone and I haven't heard the song in years and have tried a few times to find it online.  When you don't know the name of the song, the artist, and only a few bits of the lyrics, it's not easy.  The other night, I decided to try again and be a bit more persistent. 
   
   I found it.
   
   The guy that sings it has a nice website.  I began snooping around his website and found him to be a very intriguing character.  Not only is he a Texas singer/songwriter, he's also the author of quite a few books. 
   
   I sat down last night and wrote him a short email basically telling him what I just told you and that I'd love to write an article about him to post on HubPages.  I gave him a link to my profile and invited him to read some of my hubs.  I asked him if he would mind answering a few questions and give me permission to post a few photos. 
   
   Early this morning, I had a response.  He said he liked my writing style and would love to answer any questions I had for the article.  He gave me a link to his g/f's website where she has 5 years worth of photos.
   
   OMG...I am soooooo excited!  I'm so flattered to get a response and this opportunity to write about someone I have spent years trying to find.
   
   I don't want to give any details of who it is, but in the not too distant future, you'll see a new hub about it.

         Thanks Aya, I'll include the title of the song for sure.  I don't know if I'll be able to find the lyrics or how he'd feel about publishing the lyrics because they are not out on the web now.  That's what made it so hard to find.  There is not a YouTube video of it either.  So, I'll have to see what I can come up with.

      That's great! I know only too well to search for something for years...been trying to find my brain for a long while lol!

   He's super easy to find if you know his name.  The problem was I didn't know his name.  The reason the song wasn't easy to find is because the lyrics are not online and he doesn't have a YouTube video of that song.

   Thanks RebekahELLE.   Although, the traffic will be nice, it's one of those articles you want to write "just because".  It's just one of those really satisfying moments for me.  One, to finally track the song down, then to discover that the artist is someone that is really interesting, then to actually make contact with him and him be excited about ME writing about HIM!

       Thanks Viryabo, I don't know about becoming famous or even getting lots of traffic.  As I mentioned earlier, it's really just a hub that means a lot to me to write regardless of the outcome.  It's hard to describe.   You won't have to wait long.  I'm doing a little research about him before I just pop off some questions to him.  I have about 5-6 questions ready to go.  I'll probably email him today with them.  Not sure how long it will take him to respond.  Then I'll write the hub.  I've started the hub already.

    I had something else happen to me awhile back that I'd like to share and I'll explain why.
    
    I had written a hub about a country music star and included a photo I found online.  Probably a year or more later, the owner of this photo filed a DMCA complaint against me, and rightly so.  I didn't get the photo from her, but I got it from someone else who evidently got it from her, directly or indirectly.  It doesn't matter, I did not own the photo and now knew the true owner didn't want me to use it.  She had been a photographer for this star at one time.  No problem, it was removed.  However, the hub needed a photo.  I took a chance and wrote the star asking for permission to use a photo.  I was given permission to use a whole group of photos.  That feels good, folks.
    
    I share this with you so that you understand that if you want something, sometimes all you have to do is ask.  Don't be afraid.  What is the worst that can happen?

    That they refuse. I would have thought that was obvious. It is the fear behind hearing rejection that limits some from bothering to put the effort forward. This is unfortunate. But, I'm glad you shared this as well. Thank you.

    I didn't ask him for the lyrics, but I'll give a synopsis of the song. 
    
    I'm nervous, but I think that's a healthy thing.  If I wasn't, I wouldn't be taking it seriously enough.  This is a big deal for me.  I just want to do a good job on it.  It would have been easier if he was only a singer/songwriter, but since he also has 15 novels under his belt, I feel a bit more pressure.

    Well, believe it or not, you shouldn't feel any pressure at all. The reason being is that apparently HE has visited your hubs, reviewed them and granted you permission. He is already confident and what you are doing to yourself is self applied.  The obstacle you face is put in front of you, because of your lack of faith in your ability, to live up to other people expectations. However, as I just pointed out....it can be conquered through your faith. My faith says you'll do wonderful. If that matters...

          Thanks Manlypoetryman!  It's an opportunity I'm really proud to have.  I hope the hub lives up to the hype now....LOL  As I said earlier in this thread, it's really a personal achievement more than anything.  It just feels good to find the song, the writer, and then be able to communicate with him and create a hub out of it.
