I am in the middle of my personal 30 day challange and would love to join the 60DC if there are any spots available !
As long as you can commit to the 60 days that the challenge entails -- writing 30 hubs about your chosen niches within 30 days when the challenge starts and 30 days promotion.
You can answer this question of Sunforged with a hub if you want to join.
http://hubpages.com/question/66048/who- … the-return
I've answered the question with a hub - here it is http://hubpages.com/hub/Making-Money-Online--
I am doing some keyword research & will publish more in my hub on that later.
This is a busy weekend for me with soccer games and I won't be around until later today. If I have missed something along the way please let me know.
HI, don't forget to put the tag "online writing goals" in your hublog, thanks
Thanks! Added that and the rss feed.
I answered the question, but did not start a hub log. When is the official start date?
Hi Jane, as soon as the list of participants will be finalized which I believe is 30, (as he stated in the first statement of this thread by SF). You still have time to answer the question with a hub, Good morning to you!
Im working on an actual Pre-Challenge Prep Hub-
But my Very strong suggestion as we get the team together..
If you have your HubLog created:
The next step is to focus on your 30 topics, Related groups and Keyword Research.
With the committment your going to make into producing content ...its a shame when you pick topics or terms that will never be read no matter how well they are promoted!
Some resources:

The robin hood keyword thread:

My attempt at sharing keyword tips: ht tp://hubpages.com/hub/Keyword-tips-Money-making-keywords
Also, use this time to swing through all the published hublogs
http://hubpages.com/tag/online+writing+goals/latest
and meet your fellow team members, add your encouragement and learn about their motivations!
Also for the course of the challenge it would be a good idea to "follow" your team members.
This way you can use the HP feed to stay notified of their activity
If you have published a hublog and did not do it directly to the question - we will still be able to find you via the tag ..do not bother deleting and republishing
I have been checking out the new 60dcers already up and running - I believe we now have 19 hublogs and, I must say, what a great diverse bunch we have this time around! This looks like a committed set of active team participants - United we stand, divided we fall - I know we will succeed!
Hi Shari - Oh boy am I glad to be working with you hon!
Actually, we now have 21 hublogs - not many more places to go! I believe we have 9 positions available? It is getting exciting!
Okay, I am going to give it a shot again. I quit smoking last time, so maybe this time I can get it right. If there are still 9 openings as Shaz says, I would like to give it another shot.
Hey Faye,
Wavegirl contacted me via email to take part. From what I gathered in here, this forum thread.....you had to start a new hub-log, and tie it to Sunforged's question in the question section. However, that question is closed.
So, I am under the impression there are no more that can be added.
Going to be too busy I am afraid, Good luck to everyone though!
Cags, there are two questions that will show up with a 60dc search - the "closed" question is from the first challenge
Hey Sunforged, I checked the link you posted in this forum. I guess I didn't read enough of the forum thread.
So, I guess the question remains....how many people do you presently have?
right now there are 21 not including Sunforged.
The link to the actual question is on this thread in reply to LakeErieArts and EnglightenedSoul posted it in the early pages - Im writing from the feed or i would highlight it.
Here is the link
Who wants to participate in The 60 Day Challenge - The Return?
Keep in mind - original challengers are not included in the quota - 30(ish) NEW participants is the Quota -
Oh! Good to know. So there will be 30 (ish) new participants, along with any returning challengers. Excellent idea.
Namaste.
Okay....Hub Log written, but not sure if it's done right or not.
So, I guess I'm in.
The feed only displays up to 8 hubs at once.
The link you want to put into your feed capsule is as followed:
http://hubpages.com/tag/60dc-log/hot?rss
Also, set the feed capsule to display it's maximum which is 8 and set it to display only the first sentence. It should be in your Hub Log.
I hope that helps.
Cags- the tag you mentioned is from the last challenge.
All previous tags are defunct - reusing them confuses the organizational process on my end and in some ways also cheats those previous participants on their work.
The only announced tag is "online writing goals" to be used in the logs
so the rss would be
http://hubpages.com/tag/online+writing+goals/latest?rss
hot or best can be interchanged with latest as you wish..
So many interesting and different writers - I have no doubt this will be a wonderful lively experience.
The team is already great and I am sure this time it would be huge as we would be having 30 fresh participants. That means more promotion, more benefit for everyone.
I think I have everyones hub-log set up on my hub-log page. I believe I 25 hub-logs plus my own. Stop by and make sure I did not miss you or anyone you know of.
Hi Boomer, I put an RSS in my hub log this one -- http://hubpages.com/tag/online+writing+goals/latest?rss
That was really thoughtful of you. It really made my work easier of spreading hub love. Thanks. I will keep checking to know if we have covered our quota of 30 fresh participants
Hi ES< its so nice of you thinking of doing that!
I have just added Pro Design Source to my list of 60DC challengers.
You're doing a good job Boomer, Morning
I have decided not to use the RSS feed as a means to see the participants. I have set up a list of them so that I can get to their hublogs as easily as possible from my hublog. I think I have everyone to date. If you want to copy the list please do so. It is on my hublog.
The thing is with rss feeds, its mechanics evolves and change. It is good for the spiderbots of google to see action on your webpage. Therefore, it is good for seo.
Mix and match is good
I must say, however, what you have done is a wonderful demonstration of team spirit! x
Is it better to list all the participants via related links.
I mean, it works toward Hub Karma, but is there any other advantage?
It makes it easier for me to see all the participants. If I want to I can go direct to their hublog from my hublog. The RSS feed will only show the /latest/, /best/ or /hot/ 8 hublogs. As a democratic person I thought this was unfair on those participants whose hublogs do not fall into any of those categories. This way the search engines and readers of my hublog will have access to everybody. Backlinks could also be favourable.
I selected my hublog keywords to match the rss feed for all 60DC2 hublogs - "online writing goals". I have optimized my hub for these keywords. If our hublogs are promoted with the OWG RSS feed the backlinks should assist in getting this hub up the search engine rankings for OWG and assist us all by having direct links to all hublogs.
You are the first person to know this one - Caggie! ... Great for team bonding - share the hubber love x
Thanks for doing the work Humagaia... I will copy later (the wife is insisting that I take her out..), you are right, the RSS feed will only benefit a few rather than all..
But it was my first internal RSS feed use on Hubpages..lol
Also, if you link to me directly with an anchor tag of "online writing goals" this will also assist your hublog in backlinks, especially if you capitalize the words (unfortunately by using the web address link generator on hubpages you cannot embolden the words).
If you want to enhance the backlink quality then you can add "online writing goals" in the Tool Tip section of the hub_link.desc found under 'show advanced options'. If you were not aware the tool tip is also seen by the search engine bot and the words indexed. A great resource for placing things like misspellings etc., where the scrutinizer of content will not necessarily find them.
benefits of on-site feed use are minimal in the scheme of things - I would caution against time expenditure that would be otherwise much better used off site or selecting topics... unless of course you already have 30 optimum hub titles selected.
BUMPING this up,
Need to read and gather thoughts about my topic as well,
I have two topics picked out but struggling with the third. I have a couple ideas in mind but I need to make sure I can come up with enough content to get maximum results.
Presently the participant total is up 25 that I know of....
However, Sunforged is not including first rounders in the NEW total. So, I would have to say that as a group of new participants, we are not even close to 30.
Are we officially starting tomorrow? Is that a fair assessment?
You have officially started. . .consider your hub log a start. .if you are asking when the days start counting towards your 30 Hubs, no that has not started.
As SF has said. . start getting your keywords together and your plan of action and this is a good time to go and meet the other team members. .
SF will let us know when the official countdown starts. . think of it this way . .you know when a race starts and they say ready set go . .
right now we are we are at the ready and set. .
SF will say when to GO
Hey Wavegirl,
I'm not exactly sure about the "keywords". My topics are generalized and not specific to any real niche. Kind of like the ones I've already written- broad based.
Any ideas?
I'm just a little anxious to go Wave and Cags...amped up, so to speak?
I can understand that Drej... I could have written two hubs today, if everything as in "GO" was meant to be go now.
However, "keywords" are not my strong suit and not sure because my topics are so generalized.
I'm sure Wavegirl would say go to Market Samurai which is a great place to do some research...it's a free site (I think it's like a 2-3 week trial, then you have to pay) and it basically shows you how to find key words that generate a lot of traffic and commercial value...
anyway, if you are going to download it, go to these links first:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsoy8Mde … e=related/

They are tutorials and how to understand/use Market Samurai...a brief explanation...
Chris
Cags. .. you can start writing your hubs. . and yes get acquainted with Market Samurai. It is a tool that is really really quite helpful and once you use it you will see what we mean.
You can start writing your hubs. .grab your urls. . just dont publish yet. .
Just added Jane@CM as our newest team member. stop by and welcome Jane here: http://hubpages.com/hub/Jane_at_CM-60-D … ege-Hublog
Hey Sunforged,
It appears by researching my topics, that there is simply too much competition for the keywords?
Targeting specific keywords is understandable, but what range would be good? With regards to searches?
Just curious. Many of the life topics I have are so generalized, I'm not sure....
Show me an example train of thought Cags.
I only judge my first page competition - I dont worry about those who were not optimized enough to make it to the important page.
I like to start at a minimum of 10k searches a month but I dont always stick to that.
Yeh you're in a tough way there Cags. I saw your earlier post and have been trying to think on it, but I'm coming up empty. The only thing I did come up with was maybe doing some reviews on some of the currently more popular self-help program type things. But I'm not familiar with any myself.
You know, like back when that book 'the secret' was big, and everyone was buying it up to learn how to attract money into their lives through envisioning it. Or when the prayer of jabez was all the rage. By doing reviews on those methods of improving one's life, you could use those hot keywords to attract traffic, and to your other hubs as well.
But I don't know what's big these days in the self help or life improvement arena. Haven't heard of any popular scams lately.
I don't know, but I do see your problem there. What do people search for when they're looking for help? 'How Do I Fix My Life'? Wonder if you could capitalize on FML, you know, 'Fudge' My Life? Or maybe 'where is god?' 'I need help'. I dunno. Tough field you're in there.
Well, I'm trying to stick with "America" to begin with.
Political issues, Educational issues?
Political issues can get alot of traffic. It doesn't convert all that greatly, and google ads will display stuff which may promote the exact opposite of your message, but I used to get a lot of traffic when I did political stuff.
Thank you again. My hubs on America presently are not too bad, but don't do good enough.
I'm trying to target community type of things or the lack of such.
Hmmm, we may share another interest there. Probably can't help you with keywords, but I'd like to read one of your hubs about that subject, to see what ideas you have. Link? Or just a title will do.
Cags, Go to the keyword tool.
Instead of entering a keyword use the field that says URL - enter the URL from your own Hub or another page on the internet that has a topic you are interested in
Look though those keyword results for promising terms that will be within your interest
I do that all the time, when im trying to see if I can write about a topic I enjoy..
I dont think I have ever published that, its no big secret or anything, but I never even considered that it might not be a common practice.
It works really well to get the ball rolling towards digging up some terms
Hey Sunforged,
I signed up on Market Samurai earlier and downloaded that tool. I was using it, but getting confused, even after watching the YouTube video Drej gave me links to.
I wasn't using Google AdWords Keyword Tool.
Yeah, I know, not too bright....tried running before could walk.
@Pandoras, I'm looking to heighten more awareness about the lack of things in the community? I've already written a few hubs to wake up the senses, but more political motivated awareness and not individual awareness.
cags _ i totally encourage you to use MS and learn as much as you can from it.
its one of my suggestions for the challenge.
But sometimes when in a rush the adwords keyword tool and its basic functionality is enough.
So when searching for the beginning terms..I would perform teh activity I suggested...then use MS to lock down those terms and find the gold quickly.
There is quite a learning curve ...but there is also a huge support community for the tool
Sunforged I have a question about keyword competition. Simply, is it possible for a hubpage to beat the SERP rank of a youtube video page that has no backlinks to it? I'm asking this on the assumption that keyword URLs seem to have a major impact on ranking, and youtube pages don't have that.
Thank you. I'll continue to try and narrow it down.
That is something that has bugged me for a long time now. I won't bog this thread down by changing the topic, but I'll keep my eye on your upcoming hubs to see what you think. I looked through what's showing on your profile but didn't find anything yet, so I'm guessing this will be an upcoming theme.
Anyway, I'm out. Reckon I'll see you all tomorrow.
Pandora,
I've presented my hubs on Life in America, geared originally toward individual awareness about the unrealized political spin already running through mainstream society.
If its a youtube page of a video marketer you may have a battle at your hands.
Otherwise, it should be ripe for the picking.
There should be 9 other competitors on that page that can give you a feel for your ability to be included on the only important page in google.
Thanks for the info. If I don't get the #3 or #4 spot, I should be able to bag #7.

It seems that a number of people from HubPages are planning to do Ed Dale's 30 Day Challenge this year, which is all about learning how to use various tools and websites to drive traffic to your website (or Hubs).Ed says it is advisable to work as part of a team. Seeing how many Hubbers have...
