To those who are unsure whether their submission registered:
1. Look at http://hubpages.com/reports/sytycwo where you will find all qualified hubs listed. I believe this is only updating hourly, and then not until several minutes past the hour. So don't sweat it until, say, 15 minutes past the top of the hour after your submission time.
2. Entries there are listed sequentially, first chronologically by "contest date" and then alphabetically by "username." If your submission isn't where you expect, look the day before or after. If you find it there, you need to study the time zone difference from where you live.
3. If you don't find your submission after all the above, then go back to be sure you used the "writingcontest" tag (no space--I know fingers might rebel). If you add or correct that and you're still within the 24-hr contest day, it will count. If you didn't catch it until past the day's cut-off time, there's no second chance. Write a new article for tomorrow.
4. No, there is no theme of the day as mentioned in the detailed rules. That's just fine print legalese that applied to a previous contest, but not to this one.
I don't speak officially for the HUbPages team here--just my observations.
