      Oh, I just remembered an anecdote from my university days.
      
      At the end of a philosophy blue book exam, the prof asked this question:
      
      "Bonus question, 20 points. Define Courage."
      
      One student supposedly wrote, "This is." and turned in the exam. He got full marks.

   courage is doing what you know you must, even when afraid, or knowing it will hurt. Going on, like it or not, depsite the hollow pit in your stoamch. courage is not the absence of fear, it is perseverance.

   It's different things for different people.
   
   For me, it is doing something outside of my comfort zone that I know will benefit me or some one I care about...it may hurt, and it may be scary, but in the end it will likely be beneficial or necessary.

      I agree that courage is different things for different people...Courage to me has always been physical, facing down fear or danger with grim determination...sort of like Winston Churchill's remark that he " likes a man that smiles in a fight "....I saw some of that in the service, and I saw it on my young wife's face going into our first childbirth...

    Courage is doing the right thing even when the wrong thing is easier, faster, more beneficial.
    Courage is doing what is right even when you are afraid of the consequences.
    Courage is facing your fears.

       Right thing?  Courage doesn't always have to involve morals.  Hell, one could be a courageous killer...with or without a supposed divine law.

          I would argue that you are using "courage" in place of daring, fearless, or perhaps even reckless.
          
          And morals are not necessarily divinely inspired.  There's a great deal of work that shows that "moral" behavior is the manifestation of social behavior favored by evolutionary principles. (A clever theist will assert that God put them into play, a less clever one will argue against evolution, but neither is my point.  I'm sure you get it.)

          You may be right about the morals, but I doubt it.  It's not about the morals of society, but the morals of an individual person. 
          
          To do something illegal doesn't take courage - it's quite easy, actually.
          
          And, how do you come up with a courageous killer?  IMO a murderer is full of fear, not courage.  A murderer does not face their fears of killing, otherwise they wouldn't kill and therefore would not be a murderer who is afraid of being a killer.
          
          Besides, I was talking about right and wrong based on individual perception of the words.

    Finding the strength from within your heart, mind & soul to survive even your darkest of days, and taking those experiences as lessons you are willing to share-to help another person through their dark days.
    Simply put- learning how to bend and bounce...rather that break and crumble when you are thrown a curve ball in life.
