   I wrote this hub a while back after witnessing a scary event. It concerns the fact that some people mean well, but don't know anything about raising pets and therefore shouldn't have one. I warn you though. It is upsetting so some people may not want to read it:

   Hmm... I adopted my cat straight off the street... but I'm not sure if I have very good tips unless they would be "Defy your parents, sneak the dying, stray cat in and then try to calm the parents down when the cat gets out of the laundry room and they find it on their bed Christmas morning."
   
   It all worked out in the end, and she's a sweetheart of a kitty... maybe I can churn out a more lighthearted hub on the benefits our little kitty brought the family...

      Oh Shanna, that sounds like a fun hub! You've got to write it!
      
      Reminds me a time years and years ago, and my sister-in-law, who was terrified of cats, was babysitting for us.
      
      We got home at a late hour and found her sitting in the living room with all the doors closed. First thing she asked for was a cigarette as she hadn't had one for hours.....turns out hers were upstairs beside her bed.
      
      She'd been lying in bed reading Stephen King's Pet Sematary and had just got to the bit where the dead cat came back alive, when our cat jumped on to her bed from apparently nowhere (she said she hadn't seen it all evening and thought maybe we had put it out)!
      
      She sprang out of bed and fled downstairs to the living room, and had sat there with the doors closed for about 2 hours before we came home.

         Haha, oh goodness! I just finished Pet Sematary, so I can completely understand! The night I read that part of the book, I was woken up in the middle of the night by a loud, sinister scratching in the walls. I couldn't pinpoint it, and I ended up hauling my cat into the room to find the source of the noise. She ended up backing into the nearest corner in terror, meowing loudly, which immediately freaked me out....moral of the story: that book is terrifying.
         
         Lol, I think I will write that Hub.... It'll be fun!

       Go for it Maddie! You can then write a hub about it and post pictures! I wished I had room for another dog, but my home is at full capacity; 2 Rottweilers respectively weighing ~92 pounds a piece, two cats and 16 chicken!

          I had some chickens once, and they make great pets!  I wrote a hub about chickens; how smart they are, etc.  Just curious do you keep your chickens in the house with the dogs and cats.  Some people do, you know!

       I didn't know dachshunds were prone to biting.  I've had friends with dachshunds named Baron and other titles of royalty, and they behaved accordingly.  Maybe I wasn't paying attention other than them being so cute.  They did behave.  Very nice photographs of your dogs.  The one above is just too cute!

          Thanks Arlene!  Sebastian just loves to tunnel under the covers and pillows.  Then when he decides to get up, he drags them with him.  Here's a pillow/bed, that looks like he's wearing saddle bags.

    (This is the first time I've participated in the weekly topic inspiration, so I hope I've jumped through all the little hoops properly!)
    
    The hub I just published has a practical and serious message, and some of the photos are a little sad, but some of them are very cute. My favorite is the one of my own dogs, at the very end. I guess I'm a bit biased!

    I will always have a dog or two in my life, and I'm lucky my husband feels the same way.  We have a rescue beagle and a pound puppy.

          Thank you, Simone!  Watson was a terror when we got him, but there was no way we would ever return him to the rescue organization.  Was this why the volunteer kept saying, "God Bless You!  God Bless You!" as she drove off?  We didn't know why she kept saying that, but after a few hours with Watson, we found out!

                I know this is sneaky on my part, Maddie, but we adopted Watson four days before Christmas.  Watson did not like men for some reason at that time, but we got around that.  Four days before Christmas?  Oh, no!  We can't take him back!  It's Christmas!

    I used to live in Paris, they have a big problem there with unwanted pets.
    Many many streets in this City are lined with all kinds of animals the streets go on forever. I did find a good home for two dumped dogs, but the problem is huge no idea how they can sort it out?
