Ten dollars, do you hear me HubPages? I have a crisp Sawbuck if you can let me block politics/religion/whatever other god awful subforum is spamming the HP forums with all the leftover comments CNN.com. All I want is to talk about is HubPages-related topics and maybe see gifs of cats falling down in a safe but adorable manner.

Make it happen. Alexander Hamilton wants to pay you a visit.

Why not just exercise self control, and not participate in said forums that bother you?  That's what I do.  hmm

I don't! Check to see how many posts I make about what Obama did this week! I'd rather not see them blot out information I'm looking for on the front page with borderline hate speech, none the less!

        TEN DOLLARS HUBPAGES.

Yes, but it's irritating to have to scroll through all the rubbish on the "latest posts".

Were you around in the days when the forums were split, so you could scroll through the all the latest posts in the Hub-related threads without having to look at the topic-based ones?  What a treat that was!

      So say we all.

I don't think we'll be doing this in the next two months, but  the idea is looked upon quite favorably at HubPages HQ. Believe me.

I made a suggestion a couple of months ago that forums should basically be split into two (with tabs or something); one would be the default tab and would be all the HP related community topics, the other would be everything else...

As I said at the time, I've suggested the same idea several times and it's always fallen on deaf ears. Here's hoping...

        Wow.
Wonder what price y'all would like to extract from someone who'd like to blot out all the threads that ask such things as "how many times should couples sex in a week?"  and "would you go to a gay wedding?" and etc..........

I can ask you both the same kind of question.

Where would YOU post then, if all the religious and political threads were gone?
And no use acting like you don't rotate toward those, because you do.

            Clear now?  LOL.

              LMAO, I do indeed.

But I'm not hypocritical enough to represent myself as indignantly angry that they exist...

              Am I?

Now I'm clear.  How about you?

Brenda Durhamposted 11 years agoin reply to this

Any trace of my being "indignant" was spurred by the proposed idea that freedom of religious speech and political speech could rightly have a price tag attached to it.

There's nothing hypocritical about my ideals nor my posts.   Yours, however...........that's a different story.
I thought you'd be all for civil rights.   But no?

Pleasantville must sound good to you?

Uninvited Writerposted 11 years agoin reply to this

It's nothing to do with freedom of speech, it's people having the choice to ignore threads they don't want to see. If I did not see the religious and political threads, I would not comment on them. Yes, I'm weak smile

Indeed.   That I can sympathize with.
                    Aren't we all?!
That's why we put our money in banks for them to hold;  it's why we let the IRS hold our refunds instead of saving the money ourselves;   it's why we don't wanna be told there's "right" and "wrong";  it's the "why" of a lot of things!   Temptation.   Wow.   The world is full of it.

Stop acting like a conservative Christian is a rare thing.
                    It's not rare at all.
It's been the American way for a long long time;  it's what our laws and Constitution were originally based on.
My ideals are not unique; they are mainstream.  Just because the liberal agenda wants to replace them with something "new" (called new but actually old paganist ways) doesn't mean I'm gonna accept a label that some are trying to force upon me via outright or hidden insinuations.

Now, if it's rare for you, then I'd suggest you actually take a deeper look at the people around you, even if it means you have to go outside your circle of house, town, or whatever environment surrounds you.   You are curious and want to learn new things, aren't you?

I think you just struck a new revenue chord with HubPages - did you see their post today about special options we can now purchase?

    http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/111166

I'm assembling a handful of questions for Simone - she's the best bargain in the list. I'll even throw in a coupon for some sexy tea from Whole Foods, so I can go to the top of her list.

    Hey again y'all!

I misspoke the first time I responded- we already have a ticket in the queue for implementing this!

Our plan is to break the Forums into three sections:
    1. Official Announcements
    2. Community
    3. Topics

It might take us a while to implement this, but we're on it! big_smile

Maybe we could just note those "bashing" topics with a yellow star so you would know to quickly scroll past them with your eyes averted.

Love the idea of segregating official announcements from community.
Since we are putting in our wish lists -- is it possible to further segregate out community
"questions/concerns" from hubbers' hangout type threads?
As weary as some are of logging on and witnessing the great liberal/conservative and
Christian/atheist fistfights, it is equally wearying to wade throught a constant
stream of "Can you really make money here?" "Why is my traffic tanking?" "New here, help me!" threads. These are all legitimate and worthy.
But to be honest, too often slow me down from getting in there and sparring with Brenda!!
