   I think you can immediately judge anyone, but that perception can change just as quickly.

   People often judge quickly.  First impression are everything to a lot of people.  To get a reading on someone that quickly, I've never done.  I have decided whether or not to be associated with some people based on the first encounter.

   I think all it takes is a word, a slight movement or even just the way a person dresses for it to irritate someone else and cause the person to be judged. Is it fair? Definatley not. But as humans, I think we all do it at one point in time... even if we try really hard to not judge.
   I know I am guilty of doing it... but I guess I am human so I am guilty of a lot of dumb things. But because I am aware of it, I try not to judge too much or hopefully too harshly.

   I agree that it takes a short amount of time to judge a person, but seven seconds is just the amount of time to judge their appearance, not who they are. I would rather view a person by their personality and character, than their attire. In conclusion, I agree that it takes seven seconds, even less, to judge another person through their appearance.

   You know, this has actually been proven. Now... there's nothing to say that our judgements don't continually change through the entire course of knowing someone, but this is definitely true - it isn't really up for debate, actually.
   
   There are even studies that say that a person decides within a first glance whether they would or wouldn't have sex with the other person, and there are a few tell-tale signs to give away the answer as well.

   i would like to refer you to a book called blink which gives in vivid detail how we bring our entire system  into operation to make judgement within seconds.our entire system picks up all the clues verbal, non verbal and analyses them aginst data bases stored since we have been alive and comes up with a snap judegement which most often is true.
   the only hassle with it is that we are constrained by our own experiences and if we have a bad experience with one type of person we extrapolate that on to all others.
   BUT yet 99 per cent of the times we are right.we have to though make sure we are not being misled by our needs of the moment. for instance for anyone lonely it is easy to see others through rose tinted glasses and fall in love with a wrong kind of person.
   but by and large yes we can judge people fast and most mistakes occur only because we overlook the advice our system is giving us.

   I believe it takes a second to judge a person; it could be a curse word, an outfit, their vehicle; just about anything will cause us to make a quick assumption regarding our fellow man.

    I do believe is true, that is way we still exist, we can read in a subconcious way other people so we don´t get attacked or judged and our value is compromised, is not as neccesary as it was before but it still has its uses.

    It probably takes less than 7 seconds to judge another person. The very first impression is certainly the most important thing for us in order to judge somebody. Unfortunately this is not fair but this is just how we are.
    
    On the contrary people should be able to adapt that first impression to the following behavior and of course the way the other person acts. In this way people can make up for a bad first impression but sometimes you just don´t have the chance to make a second impression because the person already made up his mind. It is sad but this kind of people still exist.

    I absolutely agree with this study.  Well, actually, I was able to judge my boss in less than 7 seconds.  So, maybe the clinical psychologist is making an overstatement... has anyone watched The Office?

    Ever have the hair stand on the back of your neck, feel the creepy crawlies or get that gut feeling-intuition?  They all take less than 7 seconds and those responses stay with us.  I ignored those responses on a couple of occassions and can look back now and say - OOOOOPS. Both times my first impression was the correct one. Our survival instinct is still strong and those physical responses are there for a reason.

    I would think that is a rsh assesment of human compassion.  I would submit that there are errors in this study.
