people have asked this question since Adam was an infant so they say. The Maker decided that the answer to this question not be revealed yet.

We don't have a definitive answer ,but each of us are probably here to do as much good as we can to create a positive meaning to life as we know it.
This can make us feel better and provide meaning to our lives.
Some people find meaning by helping children and/or the elderly that can't help themselves,by volunteering in hospitals and food  banks. They just spread the karma and it comes back in spades.
Some just make it a point to do no harm to anyone or anything.
I believe that if you give meaning you will find meaning .
If we decided that we could make evil meaningful we would realize in the results, that there would be chaos and we would have our answer that way. There is no meaning or order in chaos.

I believe we are here to create meaning, not discover it.

I see two sides in meaning, one spiritual, the other from the soul.

In spirit, I see the meanings and value that are true and the same for each and every person, and the core of these is love and harmlessness. Be sure you do no harm, and do as you will.

But what do we will to do? That is the question best answered uniquely, by each individual, learning to listen to his or her own soul. I ask, and encourage others to ask:
    - What is my creativity?
    - What is my service?
    - Who, or what, am I here to serve?
Answer these three questions, and then put the answer into action.
Perhaps you will be so busy loving life that you won't ask what it's meaning is.

To address your other thought, in my experience: Some people will end up doing routine things, and being true to themselves. Others will do very unique things. Others will do a mix of both.

Ah! I pass along your praise to my teachers, and keep none for myself. And the greatest answer to any question is the next question. May we all return to not-knowing, and keep an open mind.

Meaning of life?  There are probably thousands of guesses and maybe no real answer.  However, to me, life has a purpose more than a meaning.  It gives us a canvas in which to paint our lives upon.  A lot of us journey in many different ways yet those journeys always lead us to a light of truth at the end of our days, rather we are believers in the soul or not.  When it comes down to it, the only meaning of life I can find is the simplicity of existing and contributing to the beauty.

To me, the meaning of life is to seek our path to enlightenment.

You have to search your inner self of what you want. It is a journey that is different for everyone. The journey starts when you are born like we are taking a train ride and ends when we alight from the train.

During this period, it is up to us to seek for what we want. I want to know the meaning of enlightenment where the purpose of being born in this world. Knowing the spiritual world of enlightenment.

Hi Edhan - I do agree, and I also see more. Enlightenment is a key to a meaningful life. And once received and integrated, it is a base for creating more meaning, love, wonder, and service.

The meaning of life is to learn about and experience this reality. You may choose just to experience it or try to enrich it. Your only responsibility is to be accountable for your actions in the time you spend here.

The meaning of life to me means, to understand suffering and pain, free will and choice. So that when we do ascend , we can appreciate being in a more blissful afterlife. It's kinda like money. If it was given to you, no questions ask, and a lot of it. You wouldn't appreciate it, If you worked hard for money and understand the meaning of money, if you came across a lot of it, you would be more appreciative of it.

Life is meaningful. It's full of surprises and challenges and it depends on you on how you mold and motivate yourself to become a better person.

It is my understanding that we are so blessed and gifted with life and all of its wonders, that its meaning is for us to appreciate what we have and make the most of it. It is also the grateful individual who shares and gives of his own abilities so that others may benefit from his good works. In a nutshell it is sharing and caring, and this is what a few do to keep all of the rest safe and secure.

And I'm beginning to see that those who rest in safety and security are doing the best that they can, and care from generous ones gives them a chance to learn, to heal, and to grow.
