   Hey all. I love movies and writing about movies.
   
   So. What is your favorite movie?
   
   
   Mine is Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange. If you haven't seen it and you want to, make sure you keep an open mind.

      My all time favorite movie is "Off The Map" with Joan Allen and Sam Shephard.  It's beautiful, touching, and just wonderful

      Was that from the 60's or 70's?  I got really sick to my stomach, was  it based in England or Australia...?  I wonder if I'm decensitized now from all the CSI's series horror?  That was my first exposure to teenaged gang behavior and it really opened my eyes that all teenagers were not about what I was about....

   This is tough, since I can never make my mind up.
   
   Il Postino. This italian film is probably up there in my top 5.
   
   It's so poetic, and beautiful as it displays the simplicity of an Italian man, his life and love for poetry and friendship with Pablo Neruda. Rent it!

   Anything starring Kevin Costner, and I'm not even gay.  It's just that every time I see him portray a leading character--from Dancing With Wolves to The Postman to Water World to The Bodyguard, etc. etc., I think,
   
   "Yeah, if I were in that situation, I'd like to think I could handle the challenge as well as his (admittedly fictional) charcacter does."

   Kostner was great in that flik with Gene Hackman...he plays a naval intelligence officer who's girlfriend get's murdered...great movie

    I liked the 'War of the Worlds', the one with Tom Cruise.  Those were the scariest looking Tripods I've ever seen!

    Where does one start? Braveheart; Casablanca; Sunset Boulevard; Sleepless in Seattle (chick flick); The Brothers Blume out earlier this year was very well written and executed.  Citizen Kane.  Great lists here.  Wonderful reading them!!

          You really should!  If you like Happy Days, you'll love it.  The American Film Institute put it into its Top 100 Best Movies list.

    Gamerjohn:  Braveheart: Great story of a true warrior, but I'll tell you why I watched it four times (besides the aforementioned):  Mel Gibson all dirty and half naked.  But that was before he opened his mouth a little too much in the press...
    American Grafitti:  Another classic.  Lots of stars in that one.  Ford, Richard Dreyfus, Mackenzie Phillips.
    The more we write of our favorite films, the memories come flooding back for us.  This is a great forum.  Kudos to the initiator!  Have a great weekend, all, and Keep going to the movies!

    I love movies that have twists that make you rethink the entire thing.  Fight Club, Vanilla Sky, The Prestige, The Illusionist are all examples of these.   Memento does it many times.  I'm not sure I can pick a favorite.

       This really is a superior list, especially because every one of your selections demands repeated viewing.  It can be kind of boring when the details of a film are so transparent the first time around.  I am a big fan of Memento, especially.

    A very tough choice for me since every movie has a different way of entertaining me. I could throw movies like Nurse Betty, Being John Malkovich, and Very Bad Things up on this list, or Million Dollar Baby and the Godfather Triology.

    alltime favorite has to be the french version of Cyrano with Gerard De'Pardo best love story EVER!
    Next in line "A Long Kiss Good night" with Geena Davis and Samuel L Jackson. Great action spy flick
