    Hi Pamela,
I loved to read your article and come to the knowledge about which sounds bother us in our ears and how we should be careful from the most unpleasant ones. Thank you for your educative article.

Great article, Pamela! This made me think—there are so many in my list of irritating sounds. An interesting and informative read.
      Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you Rosina, for highlighting this in the forum.

It’s a very interesting article, dear Ms. Pamela! I am extremely sound sensitive. I have a hard time concentrating if there is a lot of noise around me. In fact I am still looking for a quiet and peaceful place to study without any noise and disturbance. However, I do not have a problem when I am listening to songs I like in full volume. I find that pleasing. I would say all sounds that we do not find interesting are noise to us while the sounds that we like are like music. Yes, some sounds are by default irritating for everyone. Nail scratching on a blackboard and nonstop baby cries probably top them all. Car honking for no reason is at the top of my list but that’s a problem I face in my country. Noise pollution is a serious concern but often a neglected topic. We should surely speak on this more often. Thanks for sharing this wonderful article.

An interesting article as always, Pamela. My #1 annoying sound is an odd one . . . the sound of the bagpipes. I cringe when I hear them playing.  #2 would be fingernails on a chalkboard. Thank the gods chalkboards are a thing of the past, eh?

Thanks Rosina for sharing Pamela's latest article.  We always learn something new when she writes her medical articles.  Protecting one's ears from loud noises is something that we should all do.  I am amazed at how loud some people play the radios in their cars.  They will surely suffer hearing loss eventually!

    Great write Pamela.
I think we've all been affected by this one.

I wonder if those trumpets sounding when God comes back will hurt our ears.

I personally can't stand that beep on an alarm clock, of course I hate the light switch being turned on when I'm asleep too.
So maybe that's just a sleeping issue.

I can't stand to hear the ticking of a clock. It's so tiny most people never hear it, but I do.
Or loud music coming from a car outside, while I'm sitting comfortably in my house.  What's up with that?  Driving down the road with the music blaring that loud...I don't get it.
Tv noise when I'm trying to sleep is a big one...

Great article and it hives me something to mull over.

Pamela, thank you for writing this article. I'd never heard of a vuvuzela, but it looks and sounds similar to the plastic trumpets used in my country. Yes, it is annoying. It is commonly used around New Year's. I am usually irritated by a baby's cry. Also in loud burps. smile

Pamela, this was interesting, but I thought you were going to talk about misophonia.

Pamela has certainly created an interesting article! I could hear some of the sounds in my mind as I read about them. Pamela taught me what a vuvuzela is, too. Thank you for sharing the article, Rosina.

I don’t have a problem with most sounds unless they are exceptionally loud…my wife can’t stand nails on a chalkboard and stuff like that but it doesn’t bother me. The sound of vomiting isn’t nice,  nor is the musical instrument the recorder, that my kids had to learn in the early grades at school. Interesting article, Pamela. Thank you for sharing, Rosina.

thank you for posting my article, Rosina, and thank you for your comments.

I want to thank each person for their thoughtful comments. I think I should have put loud music we hear in some people's cars as annnoying. At least it is annoying to me.
