    I like to collect books & really it is so much difficult to count them.
    I have them in two different locations.

      My husband is like that. We need a whole library dedicated to his books. It will be hard to move with all of his books.

    I collect books, mainly signed first editions, and artwork. I have thousands of books and hundreds of pieces of art work. I think it may be becoming an obsession. I do sell a lot of them on eBay but I do maintain my private collection and it too is getting very large.

    Although not actively collecting now, I have several volumes of stamps from the U.S., as many as possible in mint condition. These include Puerto Rico as a U.S. territory, Hawaii pre- statehood, and early hand-cancelled revenue stamps as well as souvenir sheets, and mint sheets.  I am always on the lookout for souvenir "floaty" pens that are filled w/ lquid and have moving scenes in them ( I have about 35-40). and vintage buttons of all kinds.

    I have collected many things over the years.  Among my collections (though I am no longer actively collecting) are:
    Souvenir demi-tasse spoons from places I've been;
    Sew-on patches commemorating various locations I've visited (affixed to a special 'patch jacket,' and when that got filled, I started putting them on my old high school "senior sweater");
    Postcards from places I've been;
    Vintage cat postcards I collected in my childhood--they are anthropomorphic scenes of cats in humorous family situations--most were created in Belgium;
    Miniatures of almost anything from antique Cracker-Jack toys to modern reproductions of things like antique hand-grind coffee mills.
    I had to stop when I ran out of display space and most of my collectibles ended up stored in boxes.  :-(

    I have too much stuff to count....

    I I collect women's vintage clothing, accessories,jewlery,hand embroidery, books on biography and other subjects of interest. I am making an effort to really control and limit my hunting and gathering instinct especially for those items that are imperishable.

    I collect vintage anything to do with kitchen gadgets and cooking, needlework and crafts.  I have in excess of 300 cookbooks at present.  1/2 of them more than 40 years old.  I have an entire room dedicated to the needlework and crafts that I have amassed.  I have started collecting children's video tapes in plastic cases for my grandson who is autistic.  He has become fascinated with having his own "VHS  Collection".  He takes the tapes in and out of the cases, rearranges them on the shelves and even has video of himself to watch where he his playing with them.  Apparently this isn't that uncommon in autistic children.

    I used to collect key chains when I was younger but now I collect knives and shot glasses. I only have about 6 knives because I just recently started collecting them but I don't honestly know how many shot glasses I have now; they are in storage for the time being.

    Books. Lots and lots of books. If I had to make a guess on quantity - and a conservative guess at that - I'd say approximately 800.

    Which doesn't really seem like all that much, until you consider that I'm a university graduate student. Who moves a fair bit.

    Moving sucks with that many boxes. It's painful in every sense of the word.

    I collect magnets.  Today I broke the Statue of Liberty magnet (sad face!) but I'll get another the next time I'm in New York.  They literally cover nearly every inch of my fridge.  I buy one each time I visit a new place.

    I like to collect small stuff that remind me of someone or something. Memories are something we should value, and people are often forgetting about them.

    What a fun question! I collect elephant figurines and paintings, The more realistic looking the better. My shelves are filled with elephants, I especially love mother/father and baby elephant groupings or paintings. My husband collects shot glasses of almost any variety - which is kind of funny as neither of us drink ;-)

    I collect decorative collectibles for certain TV shows and movies, such as action figures and bobble heads and posters.

    I also collect Wade figurines which are small ceramic animals (and more) and I've written a hub about.

    I'm also building a collection of merchandise from the old kid's cartoon Rugrats. It reminds me of my childhood and I smile when I see the pieces I've found that take me back to that innocence.

    I collect coins & old paper money.. I also collect candy tins.. I got that from my grandfather.. Everytime I go on a trip, I'm on the hunt for a tin with that destinations candy (example, I have a tin from disney world full of jelly beans, a tin from NYCs Candy Bar in the shape of a flip flop, and a can of Canadian Moose Droppings from Algonquin Park.. don't worry, not actual moose droppings.. lol. They're chocolate covered almonds. Plus a tin of Alligator droppings from Florida, which are green chocolate covered sunflower seeds. big_smile)

    I also collect different copies of Jane Eyre.. Anytime I come across an edition of Jane Eyre with a cover I don't already one, I have to get it.

    Which collection? I have over 200 teapots. That is probably my largest collection outside of books. I also collect Kewpie statues. The ones that originally came out with only angel wings. I have close to a dozen of those, but I'm very choosey on them and usually they are antique finds.

    I collect just about anything Peanuts. Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the rest of the gang. Swarovski crystal, old school cartoon characters stuff toys ie; the jetsons, the flintstones.  I also collect barbies, but I'm very selective. I mostly collect those that are of a real life person or a character on tv, but only if I really like them. The 50 states quarter collection.

    I am addicted to collecting cassettes, vinyl(33 and 1/3) and books. Not necessarily in that order but I do love all three. I have the software to covert the cassettes and vinyl to a digital format and create CD's for my own listening pleasure.

    Bibles. I love going to the thrift and finding an old dusty Bible, even better is big old dusty Bible. I found a really old Catholic Bible last year, with artwork and canonical books that are rare to find in many Bibles used today.
