Please send prayers/good thoughts for my grandbaby

   My youngest grandchild, Amelia, is in the hospital with coronavirus in her upper respiratory tract, a urinary tract infection, and pneumonia. On top of all that, she's cutting her first tooth. The poor baby's fever reached almost 107!
   
   I can't believe all the problems my family and good friends have been having. In just the past couple of months, we've dealt with all the following:
   
   Hubby in Critical Care with his heart
   son-in-law (Amelia's father) had to have an emergency appendectomy
   youngest daughter had to have an emergency appendectomy - on her birthday
   middle daughter (Amelia's mother) had a rare, life-threatening kidney infection
   I had to have knee surgery
   a very good friend broke her hip
   one of our best friends had a stroke
   another one of our best friends had to have two stents
   another friend was diagnosed with melanoma
   my mom's best friend died
   one of my friends died
   our long-time neighbor died
   
   Our dogs haven't been left out, either. Last week, Sparky was bleeding from the rectum because he got into some Easter grass.
   
   Ugh. Just writing about it has made me tired and depressed.

   Dear God, Habee - are you sure it is coronavirus? It has been big news here recently due to a new case, and it was reported last month that there have only been 11 cases worldwide.
   Has there been an outbreak in your area? It seems to stem from the Middle East. Has any of your family been in contact with someone from there?

      Hi, Izzy. Apparently, there are numerous strains of coronavirus. The one Amelia has isn't rare. In fact, according to the CDC, almost everyone gets infected with some coronavirus at some point in their life. The one you mention must be a rare strain.

    I am so sorry for all of your problems.  It has been a rough, rough, hell of a year for it seems like everyone.  My family has lost a grandfather, an aunt, a cousin, and a mother all in the past year.  Just a few days ago a family friend passed away from cancer.  He was only two years old.  This world is full of miserys and all we can do is try to stay positive that it will get better.  Sending many positive thoughts your way... Hang in there.

    Sincere thanks to all of you! The baby is better today. Her fever is down to 101, and her white blood count is back in the normal range. She's drinking today, too. Yay!
    
    I really feel like the HP community is part of my extended family, and it always makes me feel better when I "share" with you guys. I guess it's comforting to know that so many hubbers are "in our corner." Again, thanks, thanks, thanks!!

       Love and prayers coming your way.  If I had a way to get to GA right now to hug and comfort you all and hell, even do some housework and cooking to keep you all from having to do anything, I'd jump on down and help out.  Till then, I'm praying and wishing you all well and sending virtual hugs.  Holle, you are one tough cookie, and obviously, you've passed it on to your children, who have, in turn, passed it on to theirs.

          Prolly 140-150 miles to Jax from here. We're okay, Mo. The baby seems to be on the mend, and the rest of us are doing better. I would love to meet you in person one day, though!!

       The baby is still in the hospital, but her temperature is normal now. Unfortunately, the IV antibiotics are giving her terrible diarrhea.
