Hi everybody,
So did you gain weight or lost some of it in this year? Are you planing to gain or to lose it even more in the next year?
I made a career change four years ago. Ever since I've gained weight. This year? Yep!!! I only hope and pray that I'll succeed in weight loss in 2012. I never realized how much a career change can affect body metabolism.
Now I realise what they meant by the middle aged spread !
40 something and looking to loose the lbs this month.
Yes definitely put weight on, first time in my life my metabolism has slowed down; I need to get up out of this chair more, sat here writing and reading too much
I had spent the last few months writing hubs and eating in front of the computer, and gained a couple of pounds. I am ok with that because I am still underweight.
Gained in '09, '10 and '11. Losing it in 2102.
Lost a couple of pounds-- I'm good right now. Wouldn't hurt to lose five more, but doing ok now.
I lost weight in 2011 -- a lot.
Hope to lose more and be really healthy in 2012.
Definately gained! and yes, looking to take that 20 lbs off.
Gained some weight, lost some weight, then gained..ha! I will be getting fit in 2012 - but not changing the diet. Looove to cook right now.
To those who want to improve their weight status, don't forget that the only thing you need is the will.
I have had friends who have battled with weight issues and it was not easy for them. Some people seem to eat less than others and still put on weight. I have been fortunate, but it I do know that some women go through a lot to lose weight and sometimes in order to fit a 'body image' that is not realistic.
@2uesday, yes it's true, some people are lucky to eat as much as they can but still they keep their perfect form. It has much to do with the genetics.
I lost over 15KG during 2011, eating more healthy food, working harder, more time outdoors...... No diet, no special exercise..
I feel 200% better for it!!
Gained a lot of weight! Gonna do something about it in 2012 - I have to - hitting that age where the extra weight is becoming very dangerous! I want to be there to watch the world end on december 21, 2012!
I'm about 10 pounds heavier than at the beginning of 2011. Time to get it all off plus more in 2012
Gained. I'm also at an age where I can't take my weight for granted. It used to be that keeping the weight off was effortless; now there's considerable effort involved.
I'm trying tracking my calories using this app called Lose It, and it says if all goes well, I should reach my goal weight by May.
I just looked into that Lose It app, thanks for the tip- it looks very helpful! If I meet my goal it will be in July, but I'd be happy to lose half of my goal honestly...Good Luck Livelonger-maybe I'll see ya over there!
I stayed about the same. I try my best to stay as active as possible in college. I usually try to hit the gym at least three times a week.
I gained about 20 pounds this year . Hopefully this coming year will be a big motivator for me to lose it all. Good question!
I lost 20 pounds and believe that climbing stairs did it. I live 3 flights up and have an elevator, but decided to try the stairs as often as I can. This adds up to once or twice a day and it's not hard at all.
Lost about 10 pounds, very annoying, I now need to try and put it on again which is always a struggle for me.
Yes! In previous year, I have lost 25 K.g weight in short span of time. And this happened just because of a miracle product and about which i am sharing with you here. http://healthcarereviewers.com/organa-c … views.html
Neither.
Gained none, lost none.
This year I plan for the same.
I hope to rearrange where it's at, though.
I want to improve my fitness.
I lost over 50 pounds but have gained about 15 back so I am in a bit of a funk right now trying to stop the madness.
I lost a lot in the early part and gained since September although my overall weight loss since January has been 1st4lb which i'm very pleased with. Not to shed another couple and i'll be where i'm happy
I was being told by people that I was getting fat, so lost quite a bit of weight. They then told me how old I looked, so I put it back on again.
I lost 20 pounds and think that is was all about climbing three flights of stairs a couple of times every day, instead of using the elevator all the time. I also don't eat and snack all day. A lot of foods are toxic to me, so I have to truly be hungry in order to eat something.
I gained a bit of weight but I put it down to the new Laundry powder I use. I think it's been shrinking my clothes.
I think we might share the same laundry powder
I gained a bit of wait, thing is, because I spend hours of the day constantly at my PC..I don't get excercise..but because I work hard, I usually go a long time without eating as well, I so think that balances it out lol
I didn't go up or down I'm always on the move hither n thither but the world is full of interesting sights, sounds n smells I watch what I eat and pay attention to portion size habit now
What's in extra pounds? Just be merry! Not true.
And No, it's not me. And I never was like that. Max I was - 83 kg after my first baby when I started accelerating my unwanted weight. I could've been like that but I put mental stop on that acceleration. It was one long and painful process because I knew zilch about nutrition. Yes, it's in your genetics and what food you prefer, stress and lots of other factors, but you can fight that. Last year(or was it the year before?) I threw away my rusty scales. I do not need them to keep me in shape. I know what I can and CANNOT EAT, if I want normal weight. Your weight is your choice as almost everything in life. And if you want to lose a couple or more pounds - you start with your dinner menu, NOT WITH GYM. You even do not need gym if you want to save money - you can do simple aerobic and walking/jogging/swimming/whatever,any exercise, but first EAT RIGHT,real food - not sugary fatty junk pig style. Let your body to get used to it. It will need some time and little effort. I will never going to gain weight again, because I know how to control it with my plate, spoon and fork. It's very powerful feeling, I love it.
I was on Weight Watchers last fall and broke my scale when trying to put in a new battery. Anyway, that happened in December and I just bought a new scale and had sadly gained 10 lbs in one month. That's what happens when you figure you'll go all out for the holidays! Not as bad as the year I went on birth control and gained 30 lbs though...
I have the opposite problem! I keep losing weight! I'm down to 92lbs, and trying to gain some weight back.
Why do all the shows on T.V. have programs about, "How to Lose Weight?". Why not, "How to Gain Weight Correctly?" I have written to different shows with that question. Still, no results. After being Anorexic since 1976, it's hard to eat. Any suggestions?
Add 500 calories/day to your diet or 3500 calories/week. Also, do more strength training and walking type exercises to build muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat. Good luck.
Thank you! I'm scared to walk, due to losing more weight!
What matters the most, what you think about yourself? Or what others think about you?
I haven't gained or lost in 2011. I've been around 105 pounds for the past 20 years.
I lost weight in 2011 and now fighting to keep off the annual winter weight gain
Nope, I ate like a horse ... LOL! ... and didn't gain any weight, and if I did, I would not worry too much. I go to the gym three times a week and tennis keeps me fit! And running is a great way to burn calories!
I actually think over the year I lost weight. I'm oretty sure I gained a couple of pounds over Christmas though, which was a rather predictable thing to have happened.
I am gaining weight in the Philippines last year 2011 and I am planning to reduce it this year 2012, when I will be back in Germany for a few months.
I lost FAT but I didn't lose weight. I increased my weight in fact. Muscle weighs more than fat. The scale is a poor tool for measuring health. Poor tool for measuring appearance for that matter.
People need to strike the term "lose weight" from their vocabulary and start saying "lose fat" because the two are very different things. I could tear out all of your bones form your body and you'd lose a lot of weight...but you'd probably not be happy with the way you look.

What would you say when someone tells you "Have you gained weight?" in front of others? It was full of people and I would not say the comment was really welcome. Yes, I did gain weight, I have to admit, not that much... She did not mean to insult, but I would not consider it to...

Unless someone has ever struggled with weight issues, I think they would have a tough time fully understanding how much of a struggle it can be for someone. I have struggled with weight issues all of my life.I can see where weight can become an issue, but I think it's important to look beyond the...
