My heart goes out to all the people who were affected or lost their lives due to bad snow storms or other severe weather conditions.    Wonderful musings here, Brenda.The year that went by was frigid, and hopefully, 2023 should bring us more warmth.The prompt "beginnings" is a great one. I am sure I would bring out a deluge of creative rain from our talented writers. Thanks for sharing.

      I hope we are at least done with that Siberian cold air...I don't care for it.
      
      I'm certain these new storms will toss us a few bad days...but we're used to the normal.
      
      The blast we had over Christmas was unlike any weather that I can ever imagine.
      Even when we've had blizzards....the air was not that brutal.
      
      I do think Beginnings is a great word...especially when people make those new years eve resolutions.

    The recent and widespread weather problems were very unusual. They were also sad in the cases where people died. Your advice to try to stay prepared for unusual weather is important, Brenda.
    
    I enjoyed reading your thoughts in your second poem. I could certainly relate to them!

       This unusual weather is still going...California got pounded the other day.
       Here in Ohio...it's like a Rollercoaster.
       
       Hot one day...cold the next.
       Very different.
