  His second coming will be for judgment.
  
  P.S. Recently some southern Christian ministers have been wrongfully teaching that there will be a future millennium when Jesus returns. But that would mean three comings of Jesus Christ which is not Biblical. We are in that millennium right now. When Jesus Christ returns it will be for judgment and He will stay.

  I will agree with you on that "HIS WORK IS DONE", there is no doubt. But, those who choose to follow Jesus Christ are not doing well for themselves because it is obvious that they do not understand his teachings or his words.
  
  Many read their own words into what he said and did, which is where the translation gets lost.

  I haven't distorted any message, as a matter of fact I think the bible is nothing more than a pile of badly put together propoganda but I was just answering the question within the given reference and context.
  
  I am not "You guys" as I do not class myself as a Christian, I do believe in Jesus though this is part of my wider held spiritual beliefs. I do not believe he is what the bible says he is but I do believe that he prophosied, figuritively, the end of this first Earth and his second coming. But unlike Christian teaching, this is just one part of a much more complicated story which also involves all other world religions and Messiahs.
  
  Have you ever heard of ascension? It's a bit like that but without the aliens and the Atlantians popping their heads in.

To answer this question, one must first accept that Jesus is real. I notice all too often that those who deny him most choose to comment on forums like this and questions like this with sarcasm and cynisism. If you do not believe in Jesus then why are you trawling these forums looking for questions relating to him?

Jesus came the first time to absolve the sin of man. He did this by his ultimate sacrifice in being crucified crying "Forgive them Lord for they know not what they do." which is the ultimate forgiveness.

However, we are still living under a yolk of slavery in this world and his intentions are to come back to set us free when in The End of Days the first Earth is destroyed and the second Earth is reborn. He is to return to save the souls of the righteous.

When the Devil tempts Jesus - tempatations of Christ - he offers him the whole world, all 7 kingdoms if Jesus will fall and worship him. You cannot offer what is not yours to give, ergo, this world - The first Earth - belongs to the Devil. Jesus' return is to set us free from this if we are worthy and have lived our lives according to his word.

But like I said, if you don't believe in Jesus then there is little point in anyone trying to explain it to you because there is no way of proving any of this.

I personally feel that there has been a lot of promulgating of heretic belief quite deliberately throughout the last few years as those who represent the Devil stepped up their efforts to belittle and destroy Jesus. Whether he is real or not shall be seen in time.

I did not attack you or ram these beliefs onto you, so in what way are they offensive. The fact that you are defensive does not make me offensive. To take away all the sheep of his flock and fly back to Heaven.

Why should Jesus come back?

First off, let's address the initial problem- he is DEAD and has been for over 2000+ years now. Him coming back isn't happening, regardless of belief.

If you are a person who believes Jesus Christ was a real person. Good for you, because he was a real person. You want to self-interpret his words and make sense of them on your own, you first better realize - YOU ARE FALLIBLE!

You could make a mistake. And, if you do make a mistake, then you will have formed your belief based on a misconception or an untruth.

If you do not KNOW when Jesus Christ lived or haven't done the research, then there is a 99% chance that you will read Jesus Christ and misinterpret it.

The bible is a history and mythology book combined into one book. Some of it is true history and some is mythology(not real).

  Mythology is "real." It is merely different than history. The events depicted in myth serve a genuine and actual function. It is not the same function as history, which serves the purpose of reporting of facts (or attempts to anyway). This difference does not negate the "reality" of myth. To say so would be akin to saying that chairs exist but carpentry does not.

Jesus will appear in the sky and that is all, He is not coming back as we are told. In the book of Acts it says that GOD fulfilled everything HE promise to the forefathers concerning Jesus. Now who is it that's coming to rid this world of the system of thing, it is Christs' brother; yes, GOD other son. If you have not heard of him go read Luke 15 verses 11-32.

Didn't you know? I don't have a soul, I don't believe they exist either.

Why? because it is tied into religious scriptures and science cannot prove it wrong, at this time.

Does a person have a substance based soul? No.

Does a person have a substance based spirit? No.

Both of those words 'soul' and 'spirit' are based on mysticism and it's so-called 'illusions'. These things have no basis for reality, as reality is defined.

As for how reality is defined- reality exists independent of thoughts, desires, will or wishes. Reality is all knowable.

That is based on Aristotle, which is based on science and philosphy, as we know it.

And, before you begin to form your own thoughts of the subject, you assume too much.

I know you think you are a god now. You say we don't have a soul or that the Holy Spirit does not exist.

I have a hard time describing the word "life". I would love to hear what a god has to say about it. I hope you don't let your house plants die while trying to explain it to me.

Approx 1970 years ago Jesus told the disciples that he would be coming back as is prophesied in the O.T.
He also said " There are some standing here that shall not taste of death till they see the son of man coming in the clouds sitting at the right hand of power (GOD)
Jesus was looking in the eyes of the high priest the night before the crucifixion, when he said the same to that high priest. He has already came again as he said that he would.
I do not understand why people that profess that they believe the bible refuse to recognize the parts that they do not want to agree with. Pretending that some of it does not exist does not change the facts.

  GOOD MORNIN .. Everyone believes in something. Every one is pretending that their beliefs are truth. I am guilty also.
  I think that when we build our belief system we should test it. Kinda like putting up a flag pole. We should try to knock it down before we have faith that it is strong enough.
  
  By saying we should try to knock it down I mean to truly examine where these beliefs are coming from. Reverse Engineering so to speak. If we can trace everything all of the way back to a strong foundation, then we have DONE A GOOD THANG"

See... the question wasn't whether he should come back or not but Why? Does that assume that he Will come back? He won't. Nor will you or I. Some people think he should. Others ask why?
