What is your personal definition of success in life?
Some define success as having the most toys, some define it as helping the poor. What is your personal definition of success?
Whenever you yourself can look back at your life and say that you did everything you wanted to do!
For me it's ensuring my children are happy, healthy and enjoy every day.
My personal definition of success is being satisfied with your life and knowing you have done the best you can with what you have been presented with. For me, my success lays in knowing I have two beautiful, healthy children, a happy (for the most part) marriage, took care of both of my parents before they passed away, and have done the best I can to provide for my family by whatever means is needed.
Material possessions come and go and are not a measure of success, but rather a measure of excess. Helping the poor is a great thing, and if you are able to that is wonderful, but charity starts at home. Too many people, in my humble opinion, are concerned with the appearance of being charitable yet forget to be charitable to those closest to them.
My definition of success is a full life, Whether that means living like a hermit or an explorer, it matters not... it simply means people enjoy and grow in their own way.
Success for me is the peace and happiness I feel in all aspects of my life. It isn't about material things or money in general. It's how I feel on the inside.
Success for me is my ability to achieve what I want to become and to be able to do what I desire to do as a result of what I become then everything else follow such as being able to possess everything that I desire as a reward of my personal efforts. These are the three stages, for example;
I succeed in becoming a doctor (if this is what I want for myself to become) then being a doctor, naturally my career is that of a doctor and I do it well; because I have a job so I earn and it follows that I can afford to get what I want. This is also applicable to personality. If I am beautiful inside out which means that I am physically, intellectually, psychologically, etc. attractive then people will like me and everything will be easy so I will be successful in achieving whatever I desire. That's success for me.
I would consider myself successful if I could pay all my bills, put a little money in the bank for emergencies, own my own home, and have a little left over to help others.
My daughters, having been exposed to more education, and more ideas, are taking some of MY teaching, forward.................
If your own children, give you recognition in a positive manner.......you are or have been sucessful.
If ever, in their lifetime, they stop and say....................." my Mama said"............your voice has been carried forward.
Our voices, being carried forward...................................think, of our Founding Fathers................Is there any greater homage?
40, years, later, I still, daily, find myself saying..........
My Grandmother or my Grandfather said............
Is there any greater testimony, than for your offspring to carry your voice forward...........IS THERE?
Having hundreds of people who really want to be there, not just out of a sense of duty, but because they love me, attend my funeral.
My personal definition of success is raising a happy and productive family. I am proud of the way my children grew up and how they are ultimately raising their children. That is success to me.
Success is attaining the goals and objectives that you have in life without hurting other people feelings.
Being happy with where I am in my world. Feeling I have accomplished my goals and am setting new ones to keep me growing as a person. Knowing I have the love and support of my family and friends as I do for them.
Success is like a tree. There are many roots, branches, and leaves. Your roots can be strong but your leaves may be lacking. Some of your branches might support a gorilla, while others snap from a crow.
Achieving ones goals and aspirations above and beyond what was initially expected, and fulfilling at least the minimum basic requirements, for running a family full of love, joy, and happiness for all its members.
Attaining goals & success today is tough, but you need to start somewhere. One goal at a time can be achieved with focus, faith, determination, and a burning desire to achieve. read more
Success to me is an internal aspect. It is the learning from our failures that we are truly successful.
For living my life for Jesus Christ and doing His will for my life. If I miss this, I miss out on true fulfillment in life!
Living by my convictions, sharing my blessings with others, educating others based upon the lessons I have learned, loving those around me fully and unconditionally, and learning from every mistake while not being afraid to fail.
I measure my success by the happiness of my children and the students I teach. I measure my success by the success of my children and the students I teach...
This actually spurred me to write two Hubs today. One while sitting at the vet's office and one when I got back. My wife finally was poking me saying things like, I'm HUUUUNGRY. NEED FOOD.
Now I'm back with food, here's the link to the first that's relevant:

success = HAPPINESS! For both my family and myself...afterall, if my family isn't happy then I'm not either. Many people have given some very long answers with which I agree with; but only as one or two of the aspects. At the end of the day, happiness comes from success in all areas...
What a huge and timely question at the start of a New Year!
Success would be knowing that in every area of life I had loved and lived to the fullest extent, taking risks and trying new things, wearing all the many different hats of a daughter, wife, mother, friend, sister, mentor, child of God and to have encouraged others to do the same!
Being blissfully happy and enlightened.Materialistic pleasures are ephemeral, you cant call them success, really. But,yes to be a professional in what you love to do and to stand in excellence in your own eyes is what defines SUCCESS to me..To reah up to your standard of perfection,to be a winner in your eyes,on your death-bed you dont call yourself a loser. That is a successfull life!!
Success is when God is able to accomplish his will and purposes in my life. That takes a lot of work especially since I'm so stubborn.
To hope that by the time you die you don't think 'I wish I had tried this....'
Making progress on my journey of spiritual awakening. I've created miracles, "walked" outside my physical shell and more, but I've only scratched the surface.
Helping others helps in that quest. -- No man is an island! Loving others helps to eliminate our biggest impediment -- ego.
The most toys? Never. They can be fun, but being attached to them can prove deadly.
. . . the greatest thing,
you'll ever learn;
is just to love,
and be loved in return . . .
My personal definition of success in life is that if you want to achieve your goal or take part in any endeavour or focus on your chosen subjects for studies or career, you need to achieve success through your hardwork; complete dedication to your goal, endeavour or chosen subjects/career; careful planning; proper organizing; doing things Honestly and Legally; compete with yourself only and above all, possessing self-confidence and faith in yourself. More importanly, with a happy and peaceful mind, you can achieve success in a good way!
Success is being happy both internally and externally. There is nothing that can buy the inner joy that one may have towards life, at the same time living in an impoverished condition would not contribute to my happiness. Therefore the outward living situation and one heart should be satisfactory.
Best wishes

Most people associate success with fat pay checks, luxury cars, huge mansions and signature clothes. But there are a few who says success is not just about material things. it's doing what you love, regardless of the pay. what do you think real success is?

What is the definition of Success? What do you feel is the true definition of success? We all look at it in different ways. Some say money makes you successful. Some say being happy at what you do. Tell me what you think.
