    Diabetes and us

just recently I found out that my mother has diabetes. the thing that boggles me is how so many people get diabetes, and aren't aware as to what they should do. my mother called me crying because she had lost both her brothers to diabetes. She was worried that mabey the samething would happen to her.
I told her that she would be fine as long as she followed her doctors instructions right to the letter, and get her wieght under controle. Stick with her diet get the exercise that she needs to be getting to her weight under controle, and monator her sugar levels closely keep track of everything. By keeping a diary of what she eats and her sugar levles.
So far all is going well she has lost ten pounds and keeps a very close watch on her diet and sugar levels. She also stays onto me about watching what I eat and get plenty of exercise as well. between us both working together We will do just fine

Diabetes is a dreaded condition that is preventable and can be controlled by carefully avoiding foods that spike blood sugar. If you can remember to avoid mostly white foods like white sugar, white bread and white pasta you'll help yourself a great deal.
Eat mostly complex carbohydrates and protein with fresh vegetables. Drink a lot of water and exercise to sweat to keep your weight reasonable.
