I have no idle Hubs yet. Do you have any idle Hubs?

Yes, 5. It bothers me because my best hub started off by having no views at all for months-then all of a sudden it picked up dramatically. Same story with some of my other hubs. The auto-idle feature means that my new hubs won't get that chance.

Out of 108 I have two that are Zzzing. They're both about my experiences on HUbPages and will probably soon get the ax.

I do not have any idle hubs, but I have also deleted a couple since I've been here.

At the present time I have no idle hubs. I have received a few Zzz recently, but was able to update the hubs quickly enough to get them back in good standing.

None so far but I've been experiencing traffic decline over the past few weeks.

I have none right now.  I had two and renamed them and changed some key words, etc., and they're no longer idle.   Of course, who knows what could happen tomorrow.  Traffic for me has slowed down during the last week and a half for me for some reason.

None so far.  Lets hope it continues! I did deactivate 2 of my own though that weren't making me happy - but they weren't zzzed yet, I just didn't like them.

No idle hubs for me, I will usually adjust old hubs anyway - changing the title and content a little - so I am hoping to avoid any idle hubs.

Way too many! The only thing I know to do is to write more, better ones. Any other ideas?

Ohhhh, so if I change a few things and get a new title, I can republish them?

I think it's tough on poems because as a rule they are not 'search friendly'. I could be wrong but I think that the idle status is based on volume and frequency of search traffic - ie. non-hubbers coming in via search engines.

I have 12 at the moment, but I have been trying to work om them, but really where can you go with them.... sometimes. you can only update so much on what you have.

None, as of now. Touch wood! But it may happen in future. Then I would do, what others have advised, little changes here and there. Nothing to feel panicky about.

Too many, over 20 I think by a quick look. I am working on one to revise and spiff it up, and have revised a few others. The over 20 hubs are just sitting there asleep till I do something with them.  There is not much though that I can do with the poem hubs without destroying the intent and impact of the poetry.

I have mixed feelings about these "sleeper" notices -- on the one hand, it tells me what kind of hubs fall out of favor and how I can fix them,  and on the other hand it is a pure nuisance to have to be concerned about revising hubs I worked so hard on.

The only changes to the poems I will make is to add a dash and the word Poem to the end of my title, so people will know it is a poem when they see it in search.

I've actually been wondering about this. Considering the nature of poems... did you actually get search engine traffic from them before?

Zero on this account. I did have one, but modified it a little and highlighted it on the new profile page, so now it's back in production.

If you have a lot, like I do on my other account, it's either that they need upgrading or you need to market it a little. I won't be dealing with my other account until I've finished the apprenticeship program on this one. Then I may just delete some of the ones I don't really like. The others I'll do a Google AdWords check on and then modify the content accordingly.

At this point in time, I have 2 hubs which are idle and 'snoring' out of a total of 208.  I have awakened quite a number of them  and they're now back to 'featured status'.  I must say that I found it quite easy to make them work.  Innovations I made were focus on 3 aspects, changing or revising and updating tags, summary and title.  I don't like deleting hubs so any day from now the 2 will soon get active.

    Thanks for asking Doctor Kristy.

Out of 110 hubs, two hubs were zzz'd.  I edited one and got it re-indexed, and left the other snoring.  It is about Hubpages and not getting any traffic anyway, so I'm not going to bother refreshing it.  Sleep, my darling baby...

  20. Wesley Meacham profile image62

    None at the moment.

When HP introduced idle I had two. I considered making changes but ultimately did nothing. The idle status changed on both hubs on their own. Eventually I'll probably make a few changes or completely remove those hubs anyway.

(edit) they were already back to active before this but a week ago I started playing with the tittle tunner and updated several hubs at the same time. I've seen traffic rise since then but not exactly proportional to the hubs that were edited. The ones that were idle are still low, just not low enough to be asleep.

Oh, wow! Looking at all the other replies makes me think that I should do something about sprucing up some of my hubs as I have 27 idle. However, some are seasonal and people may get interested in those ones when the time comes around again. Interesting question.

I have 3 idle hubs, but most of them are about HubPages so it's ok that they are idle. Most people who are looking for these types of hubs are already on the site searching here, and not on Google.

I have had several - a dozen or so, but I have found that updating photos, posting an update on information, updating links, or even simply sending out pings will get the snoozers back up and active.  I do have some that are sentimental hubs that I have there for me and those close to me.  I really don't worry about their napping!

I currently have 13 idle hubs but that is because I have only organized a couple out of the dreaded ZZss so far. It is extra time out of my schedule that I just do not have at the moment.

  32. Greensleeves Hubs profile image90

Initially I had 3 idled out of about 80. One of these was brought back to life when I promoted it with a link  and it received a few extra visits as a result. The other two , I just changed a few words here or there (not 'improved' - just changed.) They cleared, and I haven't had a problem since with any hub, which is encouraging.

My worry, which I've not yet seen an answer to, is whether these hubs - which aren't going to improve traffic-wise long term - will just go idle again in a few weeks time. My hope is that when HubPages review a 'pending' hub of good quality, they may have the facility to override the low traffic filter and prevent it from repeatedly de-indexing a hub.

Roughly a thousand.  I haven't actually counted the ZZ's, but somewhere around there.

My solution?  I completely, absolutely, 100% ignore the "idle" flags and just keep on writing new stuff.

Right now I have 43 published and 1 unpublished Hubs, and no Zzzs.  When they first rolled out this new format, I had 3 to 5 with Zzzs, but refreshed them and the Zzzs went away.  I have some seasonal Hubs (on taxes) and worry that these will fall into the Zzz category and I will lose ranking with Google.

I've had 4 Hubs get Zzzed out of 80.  I made a few changes, updated the summary and they are all now back to featured status.  At first I did not think this idled Hub function was a good idea but I'm now thinking that it might be good.  It helps us to keep Hubs updated and refreshed which I think is a good thing.  It's hard to keep track of all our Hubs once you have accumulated many so this is sort of an automatic notification system that a Hub is not doing well and needs refreshing.

I'v got two idle hubs. I do not exactly know why. The two hubs are newly written. Maybe it is boring to read, or my writing skill is not that good. By the way, I have learned a lot of skill here to awake the idle hub. Many thanks to those guys who proposed the practical solutions.
