Not totally true.  My Brother In Law did everything right, ate right got plenty of exercise, he was a Gym Coach and never stopped walking or canoeing or any of those sports, and he got cancer and died a few years ago.  He was young!  A mere 60 something!

41 And I don't give a frog who knows. Life's what you make of it. I love growing older and all that goes with it.

    Everday's better than the alternative.

And has the potential to include vodka.

41 and happier than ever, finally coming into my own in this decade.  I must say, I did not love my 20's at all.  Each decade gets better, but this the fourth, I'm loving it.

I'm way over 30, and I think the cosmetics companies have a lot of women thinking they'll be "showing signs of aging" at 28.  (We hear it on the infomercials.)  In reality, unless someone drastically gains weight or gets too much sun, "signs of aging" don't start showing up until around the 50th birthday (and even then they can be fairly minor).  This is information "the cosmetics companies don't want you to know".   smile

Yea i think some of the most beautiful woman are way over 30!!

  6. Lisa HW profile image61
    Lisa HWposted 14 years ago

I particularly "love" the infomercial where they make a big deal about how Cindy Crawford hasn't aged a bit in the 10 years since she was 28/29.  It always makes me think, "Well, most people don't.  Let's see Cindy Crawford 10 or 12 years from now, after using the magical melon extract."    smile  Then again, I once worked with a young woman (27) who "worked on" her tan faithfully, and she had her face leathered up like an 80-year-old.   smile

All three of my children are over thirty.  I didn't have a trauma at thirty, forty, or fifty, and I don't expect one next year when I hit sixty.
I am still teaching martial arts and working out almost every day.  I thought when I got to this age that I would be spending my time watching TV.  People are more vital at an older age these days.

Oh, I'm planning ahead for the giant, disturbing, horrible, trauma of moving into the next decade.   smile  40 was bad for me.  With 50 I went into denial for a while.   I think I'm just going to have to start lying about my age once I hit that next decade.

Cher made me laugh when she was being interviewed and talking about being over 60.  I'm paraphrasing here, but she was asked about the increased wisdom that comes with age and said she said something like, "Once you get to be around 40, how much smarter are you going to get after that?"    smile

Harvey, very impressive.  As I mentioned above, I don't plan to have the guts to be able to tell the truth once I hit double-thirty.  Nobody would guess it based on your picture.  (We need to know if there are any double-40's on here.    smile   )
