(p.s. Red ... know that we will truly miss you, and hope that you will be back soon)
WHAT THE ??? Darnit, not again. I was the one that spotted her missing last time, and I felt certain she'd never get away from us again. I do think she'll be back, I do. But, I don't understand why people leave, unpublish their hubs (why not leave them there), and get rid of the profile. I don't get it.
Same , same, WS. That part would piss me off the most , lol losing money ok 5c...but dats precious hubba bubba right
Rednw did say she wasnt using adsense though ,so she probably figured , no loss.
I dont get why people leave ,log off yes. Perhaps its too make it harder for themselves to log on (doing what ya dont wanna do)....
Hey good to see ya too ms larger than life
Are you saying I look "fat" EK? HMMPFF. Good to see you, too.
tis a cliche sweetie meanin quite the opposite
I gotta run, just burnt another dinner Im callin it Hub grub
Please add that to the hubs dictionary. That's too damn funny, I've ruined many a dinners from foruming too much, lots of hub grub in this house. I love it! You add it or I will.
Fill me in on adsense please..should I stop using it?
i know.
all that hard work, gone
well if she left for good, i can understand that i guess. now if she came back after deleting all her hubs - that might be weird
in any case, she seemed like a nice person. i wish her all the best.
Neither do I. Not long after I joined HubPages, someone came back after several months' absence (having left her account and Hubs live). She wasn't earning anything before she left, but when she got back, she was thrilled to find she'd earned nearly enough to make payout!
So it does seem a bit short-sighted to delete your Hubs when you go - unless, as Lisa says, you've decided to use them elsewhere. Maybe people think Hubs are like gardens, and will wither if they're not there to tend them.
I don't really think she was here to make money with her hubs.
sadly, I do believe there are some that do make these online forums their life, it's like a refuge away from their real life.
OK, for those who are interested and missed it [I knew I should have copied her poem]she left a pretty concise poem on her profile after unpublishing all of her hubs. The gist of it was that she did something wicked, needed some help form us to decide how to get defense for her behavior against her husband and could she ever get forgiveness and she hoped that he would not kick her out of her house.
She sent me an email and told me to tell you all whatever I wanted to after explaining her situation. So, I have decided to just give you the gist of the poem that she left for us on her profile before it was deleted too. I will add that the kids being abandoned by her dearest friend led up to this and she said she will never return to hubpages. That's all folks.
I just don't get what HubPages has to do with it. My real life and my life here are separate, but perhaps that isn't the case with everyone. Never say never though, I hope she has a change of heart.
I will miss her, she one of the folks I was just getting to know.I hope she will be alright!
I will miss her in the forums
Come back! Come back! I didn't get my goodbye spanking! Crap just when I thought I was in like flint!
Hey DM, should you ever pass back through this way, gone? well that's shit ain't it, I kind of had the feeling it was going to happen though.
Wherever you are and whatever you're doing, best wishes and good luck.
People (and/or alter egos that have Hubs) wipe their Hubs out all the time. I've often wondered why anyone would do that, but then I think that maybe the Hubs aren't doing well anyway; and they want to put the material on another site and see how they do elsewhere. If someone's going to take all their writing they may as well take the name they've used with it and any profile.
I think good to share facts and get help from more experienced forum.
Often it does; but, to me, all the more reason to take a break on here, discuss something unrelated to day-to-day problems (or maybe have a laugh), and get away from day-to-day realities for a while. What I don't really get are the people who bring their "real-life" problems onto the forums. BUT... then, too, some people create a "make-believe reality" just for the forums. I've pretty much sworn off trying to be supportive or helpful to someone on here with some big life-drama; because too often it turns out to be make-believe. If someone has a Hub question or some non-crisis-related question I still try to be helpful. Otherwise, I'm here for either discussion/debate or a laugh. I'm sure it's different for anyone who has a non-forum-only relationship with others on here. Maybe they know better which life drama is real and which isn't.
I know there are some troubled people who do come here and hope to get support, so it's too bad the prankster quotient is so high here a lot of people have learned to ignore "crisis appeals". It does kind of make you wonder if that could result in driving away the people who really do think they can get some support for their crisis here.
An excess of drama seems to be the culprit.
Have you ever tried reading the posts in reverse order? I just did it. Randy said reality sux, and Mag said it's just a hobby. Sounds like reality is just a hobby for Mag. Love it!
YOu'll have to excuse me, pals. I haven't taken my medications today.
I understand what you're saying. Still, it's kinda sad. Maybe some people just don't have any friends. ??
The last post I saw (but didn't reply to) was the one about the little girls crying because their mother had left them. That post was full of support and ideas from Hubbers who obviously wanted to be supportive, and who were obviously moved and concerned to think someone was worried about someone who said they didn't know how to help two little, crying, girls. It looked to me like there were a "zillion" caring people who replied to that thread, so it wouldn't seem to me that anyone (of those people who showed genuine concern and wish to help) betrayed the fellow Hubber they cared about in any way. Of course, a couple/few days later she came back and said the girls' mother had returned and something about her own "issues" coloring the way she originally viewed the situation.
In any case, it looked to me like there was asking for support/help; but it also looked like so many fellow Hubbers were kind-hearted enough to attempt to be supportive. I actually wondered if redneckwmn may have been a little embarrassed about getting all those people's support for something that later turned out not to be quite so awful. She did say she had "issues", so maybe she worried more about "getting everyone all worried over nothing" than she needed to? (Of course, I wondered that before ralwus' explanation to concerned Hubbers.)

This issue has been raised many times and many authors don't want it.=> The links have no value to the hubber.=> The forum links should not be public as the issues are essentially internal=> What possible benefits apply to the author for these links=> What benefits apply to HP that...

There are a lot of us who haven't been feeling safe on the forums. They've felt stalked, harassed and browbeaten.Sadly, some folks go with the letter of the law, but not the spirit of it in their posts. For an excellent post on why we need Forum Moderators, check out what Makingamark says here...

I'm starting to see AI-generated comments in the forum. This may well become the new normal, not just AI in submitted articles but also forum comments will become increasingly common. The comments don't have the colloquial feel and voice that people normally use in the forums. They have the detached...

Okay this is great! I downloaded it this morning, and it's really working wonderfully. We all know Edweirdo, a very clever and useful hubber who created the HubDefender tool for us all which detects hub-theft and assists in dealing with it. Edweirdo has also written many helpful tutorial hubs on...
