Hello everyone, we had a fun week with the body art hubmob, we managed a total of 29 hubs published on the topic.
We started the month with Halloween, followed by Thanksgiving and now we are going to finish with Christmas. Three of the main yearly celebrations in North America.
Two weeks ago I was in Scotland and I was amazed to see that some shops had already started to prepare for Christmas. It looks to me that every year the festive season comes earlier! So, before I get distracted by another fun topic for the hubmob I think this week we are going to prepare our hubs for Christmas so they have a good rank when Christmas comes. Last year we had 56 HubMob hubs on Christmas, Lets see if we can break that record this year, come on HubMobsters show me we can break any record we want, we are the best!!!
Some ideas for a HubMob hub on Christmas are:
Christmas celebrations around the World
Choosing Gifts
Christmas Music
Christmas Trees
Decorations
History
Nativity
Parades & Special Celebrations
Religious Observance
Santa Claus
Christmas films
Traditions
To join this week's HubMob please follow the steps below:
1. YOU MUST START YOUR HUB CLICKING THIS LINK Choose the Answer the Request green button. Choose the MAKE A HUB ABOUT IT option.
2. Choose a relevant title for your Hub to get a good ranking in the search engines, AVOID starting your title with "Weekly HubMob"
3. Include the HubMob RSS Feed in your hub: http://hubpages.com/question/24680/hubm … ew&rss
4. Add the HubMob graphic to your hub so that everyone who reads it will know that it is part of the official HubMob topic of the week.
5. After you publish your HubMob Hub, come back to the forum and post a link to your hub with a brief description of what you wrote about and why. Take advantage of the free publicity!
Hi Princessa and all members of the Forum,
I have made a Hub about Christmas - Nativity. Every year I make a large Crib of papier-mache', and I've been doing this since I was a little boy. My christmas is not complete without the crib and its clay figurines. We decorate the home and put up a large Christmas Tree but I must also have the Crib, with Baby Jesus occupying the main Cave, some shepherds, the Magi, etc.
Crib Figurines made of terracotta and blue clay:

Darn, I'm going for a trip tomorrow otherwise I can stay up late tonight to write this hub. *sigh* tempting topic, Princessa.
You have the whole week ahead emievil unless of course you want to published the first hub for this topic... tempting indeed isn't it
Yup LOL. already have an idea in mind but I'm afraid someone might get to it before me
run run as fast as you can... you might be the first one
oh oh, yes, I want to do this. I've not done a hub mob yet.
here I go.
I'll leave the first hub to somebody else. I think I was the first in one of the previous hubmobs
Just make sure you follow ALL the steps 1 to 5 Rebekah. All the best and we'll be waiting for your first hub
How do I suggest a topic that is not on your list but I wish to do?
It does concern Christmas - maybe I can post it under your first topic
Hey Laura, you can join even if the sub-topic is not listed above. These are just some ideas floated by Princessa. You can add your own as long as it's about Christmas, that is .
Hi Laura, if you want to suggest a topic you can do it here in the forum or you can send me a private message. Whatever you prefer. I am aways open to suggestions and appreciate the HubMobsters input.
I already made several Christmas articles nyahahaha I guess I was too early hehehe...
All the better, it means that you can do another one and link it back to all your other Christmas hubs.
Yeah You said it, I'll try my best to come up with an article or two...
hi general sir, seen the website you did for TESDA< it is a decent one, good job, if you have time you can read this

Has anyone noticed that HUbMob hubs are HOT hubs and BEST hubs? http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/25395
I really need to start on the hubmob again. It's been a while. I already did a a few holiday hubs. I'm working on a few more, but I opened the URLs before the hubmob was opened. Can I answer the request with a link to my hubs I'm working on now so that I don't have to start over? I've got two that are nearly finished.
I missed the toy hubmob; I'd already done mine. Hopefully, I'll be able to add the holiday ones I'm working on this week to the hubmob.
o.k. I'm ready. Christmas files are open on my desk, coffee, Yo Yo Ma holiday c.d. playing quietly~~ see you later forum.
Never mind... I just copied them over. Here's one. I have to copy the other one over

help someone. I am stuck in a capsule that will not do what I want.... I am trying to line up a sentence directly underneath the line above it. it will not let me place it directly on the next line, it keeps skipping two lines down. I have tried everything I know how to do before pulling my hair out. maybe I'll just skip Iceland!
here is what it looks like now.
Greeting: Gledileg Jol (Merry Christmas)
Custom: The children decorate their homes with Christmas pockets and mouse stairs. Elves leaves gifts in the children's shoes on December 24. The first elf arrives on December 12 and the last one is gone by January 6.
no matter what I try, I cannot place it directly underneath. what am I doing wrong?

Now I'm in the Christmas mood.
I just finished my Hub for the HubMob Weekly Topic, Christmas in Florida.
I chose this topic because my first Christmas down here was a real culture shock. After being here for almost a decade though, I am not sure if I could handle a cold Christmas anymore.
Here is my Christmas Gingerbread Cookie Recipe and some health benefits that the herb ginger has! http://hubpages.com/hub/Christmas-Gingerbread-Cookies
I love ginger bread cookies, ginger snaps even more though.
The RSS feed on your hub does not appear to be working. I did the same thing on my hub too. Instead of copying and pasting the RSS feed out of the original post, click on it to open in a new window or tab. Then copy the entire url for the RSS into your Hub module.
Well My hub is probably not exactly what you had in mind but as October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Christmas is known to be the most trying time of the year for Abuse Victims that is what my topic is.

Sorry but I can't get the RSS feed to work. Not from the forum or if I open the link it takes me to Google Reader. The previous week this link worked - this time there seems to be a problem.
Please help!

I'm still having a problem with the RSS feed. Please help. Could someone just paste the link in a post so that I can copy it? Please
Here it is Laura. You can highlight it, right-click and click on "copy link location". then you can paste it. Tell me if this works.
http://hubpages.com/question/24680/hubm … ew&rss
In my setup, it says "copy shortcut".
Princessa, maybe add to the original post each week that it is important to use "copy link location" or "copy shortcut", NOT just "copy".
I'll try to make it easier for next week rmcrayne, thanks for the suggestion.
The way I usually do it is to go to the REQUEST, then click on the RSS feed icon at the top and copy the URL address directly from there once the RSS appears on the page. That seems to always work with no problem for me.
I have been having to go to the feed link posted on this thread and copying the URL address that shows. When I tried copying what's posted here, I couldn't get it to work.
I still cannot get either to work. It does not display the links to the other hubs and if I click on the link it takes me to Google Reader. I have tried all three. Getting frustrated here.
Sorry thank you both Emievil and Whitney
Situation has not changed - still not working.
Try this one. This came from my hubmob hub. It's still working in that hub
http://hubpages.com/question/24680/hubm … ew&rss
Sorry to ask but you did click "copy link location" right? That usually works for me, wonder why it doesn't for you? *scratches head*
Did everything just as you said, Even tried with a new link capsule- last week everything worked fine - can't understand why not this week.
Am doing another hubmob hub will see if I can get it to work there!
thanks for all your trouble
I had trouble also yesterday but ended up going to the link supplied in the OP first message and copied the url into the link capsule. it worked.
it can get frustrating, hope it works for you.
Are you using a link capsule or an RSS feed capsule? You want to use the RSS capsule.
Sorry, I see you've got it working now.

Hey HubMobsters -- I just wanted to let everyone know that I just used this RSS feed link and was able to add the rest of the HubMob Hubs to an RSS Capsule with no problems. I'm not sure why some of you are having trouble with it...hmmmm....

I hope a hubmobber is about. I am finish a hub for the theme, but having some problems finding the art from hubmob to add. How do I do that?
Go to the first post and save the image at the top of the post to your computer.
Load the image from your computer using a photo capsule.
Hope this helps.
Thanks...it confirmed...I could find the photo through the feed, having never used that feature. I figured I could save the photo and add it that way. Also, I'm not quite sure where to place the feed, so I did toward the end of my hub, having seen that way in other hubmob hubs. Anyway, I'm sure I'll be told if I did it wrong. Thanks again, and see you on the authors' game, I'm sure.

Make a Christmas Wreath
Why doesn't the RSS feed update? Mine show the first 3 that have been published, but haven't changed from day one.
Also, what about a Christmas themed hubmob logo?
Last Halloween, we had a Halloween themed logo. Or has the themed logos stopped? Just easier to stick with the one. Are there other logos? Vertical? Etc. It's been a while since I've participated, I'm just curious if there are still the various logos.
*
Nevermind, the RSS that Hup posted works, it just leaves the answer that has the posted link (but not a new hub) at the top, only updating those after it, which sucks.
Hi Whitney, welcome back to the HubMob
I think that the RSS feed takes a longer time to update now. I am not sure how long but it takes much longer than what it used to be.
As for the Christmas logo, now we are just keeping to the one logo as the official HubMob logo. Sometimes we have a specific one but it does not change with every topic as before.
I got this far before running out of room. This topic is also going to need more than one hub.
Christmas Around the World HubMob
Strike that. Sorry, Whitney - had to remove yours from this hub, the capsules were going screwy. I'll put you in the second one.
I guess it's never too late in the week to take a crack at your first Hubmob hub. http://hubpages.com/hub/Eight-Great-Old … ave-Missed
