We are super excited to announce Social MeetUps for the HubPages community! These MeetUps are a great way to meet your fellow Hubbers in an informal setting. We are thinking evening MeetUps in a pub/restaurant or day MeetUps in a cafe. If you're interested in helping us organize a venue in your town or city and "leading" the MeetUp, we'd love to hear from you! Unlike the HubCamps that are grounded in education, these MeetUps will be purely social. Woo Hoo!! If you're interested, email Robin at robin.edmondson@hubpages.com
That sounds fantastic. Even though i am new here and don't know anybody yet I would love to get involved if there is ever a MeetUp close to VA!
Definitely! either in London or somewhere near, it would be great!
This is so exciting to see all of the Hubber enthusiasm to meet! To get a Meetup scheduled, go to the HubPages Meetup page and become a member in your community. You can then setup a Meetup date and place. Here's the URL:
http://www.meetup.com/HubPages/
You can also email me at robin.edmondson@hubpages.com to help you get started!
Yay! I can't wait til we have one in Missouri!
Hi Sunnyglitter!
You can be the first to create a community in Missouri here: http://www.meetup.com/HubPages/
Let me know if you have any questions! Robin
There are a number of hubbers in Ontario. What about Toronto?
I'm in Waterloo, ON, about 1.5 hours west of Toronto. I could possibly make it to a Toronto meet up if it's during the day time on a Saturday,(my kids go to Japanese school in Toronto every Sat) but I'm pretty flexible re a meet up here in Kitchener-Waterloo, preferably during the day. A more "mature" cafe/coffee shop would be nice, I'm not too fond of Tim Hortons LoL. Are there any hubbers in Kitchener-Waterloo (incl. Cambridge) area?
Yes, I would love to help too. Anyone live near Corning New York or in Steuben county???
Fantastic idea. Though I'm a newbie, I'm looking forward to making new friends here.
Sounds really fun and awesome! Are we celebrities!! Great idea!
One of the best parts of HubCamp is meeting fellow Hubbers, so we thought we should incorporate purely social meetings as well! If you are interested in having a MeetUp near you, let us know, and we can help organize it!
Awesome idea! Can we have a Sacramento area meet-up?
Hi Jane,
We are finalizing a Meetup in Antioch. Would that work for you? If not, we can schedule another in Sacramento proper. I'll post the details when they are finalized. DzyMsLizzy is heading up the Meetup! Woohoo! You can sign up to be part of the HubPages community in Sacramento here: http://www.meetup.com/HubPages/
Then if someone schedules a Meetup in your area, you will be notified. If you have any questions, let me know!
Great idea Robin. The Meetup in New York was awesome, and it was a pleasure to meet you and fellow Hubbers. It would be fantastic to get regular MeetUps going here in the city!
I agree, Benny. I loved the social part after HubCamp! If you want to join the HubPages Meetup Community in New York, you can set one up here: http://www.meetup.com/HubPages/
Hope to see you again in the future! Best, Robin
Absolutely amazing, maybe we can have one for Australian hubbers!
Great idea, it'd be fantastic to meet other aussie hubbers. I'm up for an Aussie meetup, where and when?
good oh.. lets see
We need date, place, costs etc..
I would like to suggest and this is to all hubbers, if we make it a conference or convention type meeting, it could be tax deductable!
HubCamp in Australia is in the works, but a Social Meetup of Hubbers can happen very soon. (HubCamps are social but also informational with a three hour learning session about HubPages; Social Meetups are purely social.)
If you go to the HubPages Meetup page you can join a HubPages community in your area and then schedule the social Meetup. Here's the url: http://www.meetup.com/HubPages/
I have planned a meetup for Melbourne - check out the meetup page to RSVP.
This is amazing,I wish i could meet people...sounds great..
LOL I think a meeting of hubbers (myself included) would make a seriously boring night out. We'd all be too busy trying to sneak away to check our stats somewhere.
LOL I think it annoys a lot of people who don't know what Im looking at on my phone all the time
lol ! that is funny !! Can just see Ritchie checking reccomend another hubbers hub ! LOL! ( I would be as well !) I might try get to Newport this year,
It would be nice to meet anyone who is in Western Australia at moment while here !
There would have to be a ban for a few hours so we could have some fun !
I did write about oprah the other day.I was so happy to see her here. I was really impressed with her presentation of us! Thanks Oprah!
I'm from Oz in Melbourne if that helps anyone, but not famous (yet)
PS - May PL is also from Melbourne and wants to participate too!
Visit http://www.meetup.com/HubPages/ to RSVP
Visit http://www.meetup.com/HubPages/ and RSVP for Melbourne
Sockpuppets will be required to wear a giant sock over their head, of course.
Sounds like a great idea although I'd have to travel quite aways in order to see fellow hubbers. Don't think there are any hubbers in my area. I also don't drive in the winter so both that and the winter weather will be a problem. I could possibly get to a Toronto gathering if it's on a Saturday and get hubby to drive the family out there since my kids attend a Japanese school on Saturdays. Are any Toronto hubbers interested in meeting up?
I like it! Would be happy to help organise one for any other hubbers in Turkey :-)
I don't suppose there's any point in having one in Cologne, because I'm probably the only Hubber in the area ... But I'd love it if one coincided with one of my trips to London, probably some time next autumn.
i dont really know anyone here and im new at this Hub thing! lol so please go check out my page and add me or whatever your suppose to do here i need some friends!
Wow, sounds like a splendid idea for hubbers to get together. Blessings. creativeone59
Hmmm I wonder how many hubbers there are in the SF East Bay/Sacramento Delta area??
Robin and HP Team -- this is a great idea!
Is there a database or a source that we can generate a list of where hubbers are located? I know that this would have legal ramifications (access to information), but perhaps a list can be generated from those who are wishing to be on it? This list could be accessed by only those who are willing to meet and are interested in the MeetUp. It would help determine who is where and where the best site is to meet up.
I'm from a city that encompasses a large area, but more importantly, where I live has high traffic in terms of tourists and business. Hubbers from other cities who travel here for business would create the opportunity to meet. Who knows, I may some of our Down Under Friends or southern ones...... You get the picture, I'm sure.
Hi Beth,
Thanks for your enthusiasm! I think the best thing to do would be to encourage all Hubbers to signup for the HubPages Meetup community in their geographical area and then they will be notified if a social Meetup is scheduled. You can do that here: http://www.meetup.com/HubPages/ If there's not a Meetup community in your area, you can create it!
We will be promoting this in the forums, newsletter and through blog posts.
Let me know if you have any other questions! Cheers - Robin
I'm guessing there probably aren't many hubbers in New Hampshire. If there are some, I would love to meet up with them.
Hi Wendy!!! I'm in New Hampshire! I'm in Manchester.....where are you from?? We can start one if we are too far from each other
I'm in Newport...it's not too far from Manchester. I'd be happy to meet you, and anyone else we could rally up!
Hi DPJake and Wendy,
Either of you can start a HubPages Meetup community here: http://www.meetup.com/HubPages/
Then you can schedule a meeting and see if there are others in your area! Let us know how it goes!
Robin
Wow! this will be great if something can be organized in Delhi, India.
I am new to Hub Pages, but would love to meet some of the wonderful people on here. I am in Maine, and would be willing to head something up here, in the future!
Just joined and super excited. Anybody here in Dallas, Texas?
I know there are several of us in Indiana, and I would love to meet some. (And parts of Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, and Wisconsin are not necessarily too far.) Will meeting dates/times/places be posted, in the same way that the HubCamps are?
But also.... I have just returned from one 700-mile (one-way) road trip, after having driven a different one a few weeks ago. There were times when I wondered if there were any Hubbers along the route that I could meet if I stopped for coffee. What is the best method for sending a shout-out to find Hubbers that might be interested in having coffee, as I mentioned? Maybe just post my route numbers and see if anyone e-mails back?
I'm in Chicago! Anyone interested in doing something like this here?
I did a hub on the idea of a hubbers cruise recently for if we make it to America !
That would be great! I am in Manitoba, Canada, but also go to Alberta often. Anyone from the Prairies, I would be willing to meet!
I just sent Robin an email hoping to organize a meet-up in the St Louis area--any who would be interested??
Hi Froggy,
I didn't get your email. robin.edmondson@hubpages.com
Can you try again?
Are all of you wishing for meetups contacting Robin about starting one in your area... or just wishing? Because if it's the latter, it might not happen.
I just emailed about having one in Seattle, and as the first person to do so, I got to pick the date, place and time.
So, if you want a meetup in your area, email Robin and start one. That's the #1 way to get one near you.

I would be willing to help put one together in Austin, sometime after this month though!
If you'd like, you can start a Meetup community here: http://www.meetup.com/HubPages/
Then decide on a date and time later when others sign up Austin.
I'd be willing to help out, Oli. Either way, you can count me in to attend. Austin is about an hour to hour and a half drive for me.
I created a group for Southwestern Ontario.
http://www.meetup.com/HubPages/SW-Ontario-Hubbers/
OMG...why am i so isolated?...i had love to meet some inspiring hubbers and probably ask questions and have a live tutorial...lol...please if by any way, Nigeria could be considered, let me know...i will arrange every piece of item needed to make the meetup a giant success...lagos or owerri will be nice and an opportunity for so many hubbers to make a trip to Africa....please inform me of the possibility...thanks.
accofranco, I'm so excited you want to meet other Hubbers! I suggest creating a Meetup community - you never know, someone in your area may sign up! You don't need to designate a time and place now; once others sign up you can schedule a meeting. Here's the HubPages Meetup url: http://www.meetup.com/HubPages/ Let me know if you need any help! Robin
You have already given me a tshirt a mug and sone stickers :p I would happily accept a branded iPod, laptop, or ps3 though
Hi Robin, meet ups is a wonderful idea! I wonder if there are many from the Philippines...esp. Cebu. So far, I know of 4 hubbers who are from Cebu since they are my friends.
I am new here and as such I am positive this will create more love for community and users of hub I say yes! If you don't mind I will like to be included I live in Asia and I think this is gonna rock down here !
Only two more weeks before our first HubMeet on Long Island (New York). We only have 3 people signed up so far. I wonder if there are any Hubbers east of New York City who would like to meet other Hubbers. I sure look forward to meeting other writers nearby. We'll have lots to talk about. Especially with the new changes coming about. Come join us... http://www.meetup.com/HubPages/Long-Island-NY/
You beat me to it Robin. I was just about to post a message here
We had a great success. Already had 6 people sign up and four attended. I just published a Hub about it... hubpages.com/hub/HubPages-Social-Meetups-HubMeets

I’ve been reading many questions on the forums about how to get more traffic to your hubs. I’m a great believer in testing something, analysing the results, refining and sharing, and I approached the subject of how to get hub views in a practical methodical way. I’ll share my techniques below and...
