It is when you use the suggested links on the top right tab of your hub & add those suggested links. The more links you have across your hub gives you a HUBKarma score
so the more you link, the higher the score?
does the score count towards your overall profile score?
Yes the more you use the suggested links the higher your HubKarma Score. Not sure if your other score goes higher but its supposed to if people click on the links I guess...
81 and I don't know either, but I think it might have to do with what you did as a hubber in a previous life.
Mine's only 61 - maybe because my previous life predated computers! Or maybe I'm just a bad person...
I'm so sorry, wilderness. Please, try to find solace in the fact that mine is lower. 57
..i noticed mine...it has really gone down
i haven't done anything differently, however today i actually read what it meant because i noticed it jumped about 15 or so points and it states something about linking your hubs...i don't link them at all
mine is 41 i think,... and this is different from the number next to my "avatar",... i have no idea what it means, as with the # next to my chosen profile pict, aka "avatar",... nor do i care.
the moment that i ceased caring about these #'s i got instantly happier!
The number by your avatar is your PROFILE score. This goes up when you post hubs and have a lot of community activity. It fluctuates several times during the week depending on your comments, your questions, your answers, etc. Right now mine is 90. It was 91 this morning. People do look at your profile score before deciding to read your hubs. There are some with scores as low as 1 and as high as 100.
The HubKarma score is the score you get based on your accolades. Mine is 74.
Your Hub score is the number on each hub. When you first publish a hub it is pretty low. 49 or 50. If you leave your hub saved unpublished for a few days, the score will creep up on its own. I have a hub I have been working on for several days but haven't published it yet. It has a score of 61 which is higher than some of my published hubs.
Believe it or not, writing this will count toward by profile score and my hubkarma but toward not my individual hubs.
No, HubKarma score isn't based on accolades, it is based on linking to other hubs or topics or using the 'Suggest Links' feature, (my other post explains this better)
HubKarma score is totally based on your linking to other hubs or topics, either by using the 'Suggest Links' feature before you publish your newly written hub, or by linking to the other hubs manually. Basically the more you link, the higher your HubKarma score, (mine is currently 91). It is important to be sure the links suggested are relevant though, as many of the suggested links are not really appropriate to your hubs. Your HubKarma score does have a small impact on your overall Hubber score (the number by your profile picture). The general opinion from Hubbers seems to be it is wise not to worry too much about your HubKarma score, as linking to other people's hubs only takes traffic away from your own hubs, so probably isn't a great move. It is a good idea to link to your own hubs through it though.
Quote from Help Section of Hubpages
"HubKarma is a score that reflects the degree to which you link to others' Hubs and to Topic pages in your own Hubs. Hubs that point to other relevant, high quality Hubs enhance readers' experience on HubPages and improve HubPages credibility as a trusted resource. HubKarma has some influence on your Hubber Score and is on a 0-100 scale. The link suggestion tool makes linking to other Hubs and Topic pages easier."

mistyhorizon2003, thanks for the clarification. That's what we are here for, right?
Absolutely, always nice to help, and by the way, really gorgeous profile pic, sooooo sweeeeeet
LOL, no I didn't Barry, but it seemed so many others had and were coming up with bizarre answers to the question, that I simply answered it correctly too (as you did), in the hope I might have better luck. Isn't it amazing how even many experienced Hubbers have no clue about what HubKarma is or how the score is calculated?
My Hub Karma is 96 and my Hub Score is 86 . It has took me forever to break 85 on the score.
http://hubpages.com/faq/#hubkarma < explained there ,or
if you look at the very top right of your profile page
Mine is 93,so hope my karma brings me chocolate.
my hubkarma score is 95 whilst my hubscore is 83 - i hope the hubscore improves fast as i know many take that into consideration when backlinking from other hubs...
Mine is 87. But my total score has been as high as 98. I am back down to 96. But I have been over 90 for several months. So, I'm happy with my score. Would be nice to get to 100 though.
Mine is 95 and I always do the suggested link thing. But I never do the backlink stuff on other sites. So is karma bringing me hubkarma??

Just had a big drop on my profile score. And all my hubs were featured along with a steady 10 Editors Choice. I say 'were' because 3 were just unfeatured and I don't know what to do about that. My views are over 945,000. Boo-hoo. Hubpages doesn't love me anymore!

I would also like to know what determines my profile score. Does anyone know?I am always happy to see my profile score up in the 90's, but what determines it? What makes it go up or down?
