Has anyone else been receiving emails from a female hubber telling you that you are cute and how they want a relationship with you?
Said hubber has strangely enough not written any hubs!
Also how can you tell from my avatar what I look like and does she (if in fact it is a she?) realise that I am also female?
Strange way to either solicit for a sexual relationship or spam. Some strange folks in the world and the profile and email is so flagged!
No , not I
Some admiration you have earned for yourself LOL
Strange are the ways of online relationships
I've also gotten a few in the past, definitely spam
it's either spam or someone out to get money. i'd just report them to hubpages and then forget about them.
The new online scam is sending people money as cyber criminals attempt to "wash" money. Once it hits your account they ask for it back with any number of excuses.
I've received 3-4 of these per week from men and women for over 10 years (before HubPages and today) and it's an ID Theft and a money-seeking scam .
Look at my avatar...an old trunk in an attic, and yes, your "admirer" is also mine. ! LOLOL
Use this picture as your profile image and you won't get asked on a date by another hubber EVER again...
Oh we should match make
Skip the emails ,lol
I'm thinking something to do with an online dating service or an adult site.
Or maybe they want to get an email relationship going and then start asking for money. A variation of the 'I need to get my late father's $27 million out of the Ivory Coast' type of thing.
I've been told I have strong features and classic all-American good looks, but the occasional marriage proposal aside, I haven't had many issues.
Greg, will you marry me, I like your strong microphonic features......
I prefer to think of them as "chiseled" good looks.
Well, it wasn't me - my mommy says I'm too young to date yet.
They are either wanting a valid email address or running a scam of some kind. Report it to HP and forget it unless they start sending diamond rings.
I find it weird that people sign up for an account and have not written anything in months. This is a writers site, A SITE FOR WRITERS.
I think some of these people are lonely and need attention.
I would avoid replying to any unsolicited mails - they are just after your email address. I was dim enough to reply to an unsolicited mail from an HP member and now get around 8 spam emails a day from the same source. I will get around to tracking it down at some point.
I had one ages ago.
On my facebook account I have had several requests for friendship from men who appear to be from Africa and all quite young!
However I do feel my husband would get a little upset about them so I deny them!!!
I've been receiving emails from someone telling me I'm cute and want to date me..is this the same person..LOL
could be someone who wants to move to your country and is looking for someone to marry - or maybe they're just lonely and looking for love in all the wrong places!
"Alas" , nobody has ever sent me any date offers through here. All the e.mail scammers I get seem to be overtly out to get my "masses" of money with which to help their prime ministers, foreign diplomats, and severely injured uncles. Oh - or that poor girl who's trapped in China and needs to get to the US urgently.
Are you saying this is a scam? I have just mailed fifty five pounds to Dr. Susan Nboku who needed the train fare to get to my place. Apparently she found my profile very sexy and is, I quote "in need of make babies".
Whoa. "In need of make babies" takes dating AND money-scamming to a-whole-nother level, doesn't it.... (Although... maybe the person hopes to make some cute little, stick-figure, cartoon-babies who don't eat, don't cry, and won't be needing college tuition in 18 years.) You never know. It's kind of sad that so many people are so quick to paint everyone else with such a broad brush, isn't it.... (and just in case anyone takes what I just said seriously: )
It's a scam??!! Crap, I just thought I was doing good.
If you report it the admins should be able to determine if its spam. Used to get those on myspace all the time which is why my profile just sits there in myperspace and collects dust. Wasnt even worth the trouble to delete it.
Geez, so it wasn't even an exclusive! LOL! Seems like it was a fairly hubber-wide scam!
I have already sent my last £10.21 to Sister Rose of Benin to pay for her father's false leg and to get their hamster back from the vet! So attention all spammers - no funds here!
What I have noticed is that I have been receiving at least 5 emails per day asking for a reply. The messages go on to say that my profile is very interesting and they find my photo very attractive. I don't reply since when I track the emails, they are usually from overseas, with the exception of one from right around the corner.
Right from around the corner? Would that be me, Luis?
I've only exchanged emails with a couple of hubbers and I've befriended a few of them via facebook, whether its been my initiative or theirs. But then again... since my real name is not Klara, and that facebook account is only for hubpages, I don't feel harassed in any way. And I think I speak on behalf of the small HP community that communicates via facebook when I say that we interact little, always friendly/respectful chat, reading each other's hubs, and I've never meant any harm to anyone when I've requested to add them to my friends.
If anything, I've always made it a point to let the person know that I've requested their friendship and that there is no pressure. If they want to keep their privacy, that's fine. I never get upset at something like that. I understand.
A few times I've exchanged emails with hubbers, only whenever I feel that whatever I have to tell them doesn't need to be made public, but always in relation to whatever subject they've written about in forums. But as in the case of Luis or CMHypno, I've never sent or received emails telling people how hot they are and how much I want to be with them. In cyber-HP-language, that would take me at least 13 months. And I've only been here for 12. Next month... well... THAT will be a different story!!!
No Klara it wasn't you...I wish...It's from somewhere in Key Largo.
That's not right around the corner... but if you want I'll pester you via email
who can blame them? your profile pic sure look very attractive indeed. i'm very tempted to send you an email myself. i'm from overseas and need a green card... and a loan to buy my son medicine... he calls it weeds.
Perhaps Hubpages should have a sister site 'The HubberXchange' or 'HubLoveFinder.com'
Yep, sounds like the same email I received a few days ago. Didn't reply and reported the hubber. Something about the way she described how cute I was made me suspicious of her message. I could be mistaken, though!
...thanks for the chuckles all....awwwwww spam...it's getting better and better all the time...some of the spam i get at work can really look convincing, like i know the person - biz related messages...they're good!
thankfully, I'm too ugly to be spammed in that way.
I don't even have a photo up to begin with, and I won't put one up of myself anyways.
but good luck with that.
no, I've not received any date offers here in Hubpages... still waiting though. Miracles do happen after all...
I haven't received any date offers either....but I'm fairly new.
Don't worry the spammers will get around to you soon enough! The offers will soon come rolling in!
What's the matter with these people?! Are they so gruesome that they can't find dates by going up to a person and asking them out?!
I asked many man out back when I was single, and ended up marrying the one I met online.
Yes, flagged hubber in question and notified HubPages Staff about spammer email. Seems to happen a few times a year - oh well

I have received two unsolicited emails now from a hubber requesting me to send him my email address. I find it a bit creepy. I just deleted the first one. Should I ignore it or report it? I have had legitimate email contact from other which I have welcomed and responded to.

I stopped receiving e-mails of any kind from HP during the past few days. I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this snafu. It's especially odd since when I tried to change my password, I received the following error message: "This e-mail address has already been used to...

Several people recently (after reading a hub) wished to contact me for more information. They clicked on the contact envelope and sent a message but I never received it. I know this from comments they are leaving in the hubs. One of them (I discovered) went into the spam folder...
