'Grats to all the daily drawing winners! Unfortunately, luck didn't smile on me. lol. I've read some great entries and have viewed some beautiful photos! I've really enjoyed writing for the contest and taking somewhat of a break from info hubs.

The problem with this contest has been the lack of notice. I started a few things but the way I write it takes weeks, if not months, to produce anything worthwhile.

If you intend to run a similar contest next year (kudos if you do) you should announce that well before any deadlines.

Well, you should be ready for the next contest with the stuff you started, Will! Just consider this contest your notice.  smile

Will, there was plenty of notice and talk about the contest. It was first introduced in Sept. on the HP blog. It was in weekly emails. I guess you were just busy and didn't notice. smile

I truly hope HubPages runs another contest with these categories every year!!!  This has been a wonderful way of meeting other hubbers and getting acquainted with their style of writing. I have read some awesome entries here.  I will build up a "Poetry Journal" for the next contest like this, so I will be ready. smile

Congrats to all of the daily winners! Judges have now received our final batch of entries and there are more than the middle week. I'm glad it's a holiday 4 day weekend, because I'll be busy reading a lot of poetry! It's great to see the creativity put into these hubs. Thanks for making our job pleasurable but difficult! Best to each of you. And keep composing. big_smile

Congratulations, Everyone...this was a win-win at least for me...the composing and exposing has awakened the dormant writer within...My life was so full I did not have time to really write...this is exciting and challenging. And having at my fingertips these collected works of others to read and ponder is for lack of a better phrase at this moment....the coolest.

    Hi everyone,

There were 1,710 total submissions as part of the HubPatron of the Arts contest in November. The judges overwhelmingly said they were impressed by the quality of entrants, and ranking their choices was very difficult. Looking at the winners, you'll no doubt agree with our judges that HubPages has some truly talented poets, fiction writers, and photographers.

So, without any further ado, and in no particular order, here are the winners!

    Poetry

Third Prize: RedElf's Through the Window of My Car: A Poem in Four Seasons - Adagio, Scherzo, Rondo
Second Prize: Pearldiver's And All the Time That You Are Alone: A Tribute to an Ancient Tree: A Life Circle
Grand Prize: Tom Rubenoff's Divesting of the Self

    Creative Writing

Third Prize: Mrs Menagerie's The Boy, the Butterfly, and the Broken Wing
Second Prize: WillStarr's Wolfer Diggs: A Thanksgiving Short Story

can we start again next month?  Can I be a judge?  Will I win then?  Did you maybe by mistake you overlooked my 500000 entries?  Jason, is it to late to retract and correct?  Jason this really rocked huge success I'd wish the winners congrats but I can't right at this moment, will be back to do so promise *sniff*

Oops, I guess my poem wasn't long enough. After all, it was a Haiku. didn't know I'd have to have 500 words to explain 17 sylables.

    I can't even really define it but this contest more than anything else for me in the past two years was amazing on so many levels, a few for me were;

    -felt teams involvement
    -creatively raised the bar
-not bogged down with rules or proceedures
    -allowed us to be ourselves
-met tons of great hubbers and I should say true multi-talented artists I would not have had the pleasure reading/meeting otherwise
    -got to laugh at ourselves
-some award winning messages were delivered beautifully
-made the community a community repeat made the community a community
-learned so many hubbing details and creative facets
    -judged by our own peers
-was really embraced and participated by many
-Simone lent us her bow for profile shots
    -Greek stayed serious
SirDent shared his rhymes in time
I for one just feel proud, mostly that I stuck it out here and belong to this site with a creative Team

    I thank you
Congratulations to each winner, I'm making my rounds now as I am truly thrilled for you!

I too am impressed with how this contest was managed and taken to it's finality.

      Congratulations to the winners....

Personally, and not to take away from the winners as I'm hardly objective as her good friend, I thought Kimberly won many times over, but hey, that's just my opinion.

This is obviously the beginning and not the end for her, as well as the other very talented participants.

Perhaps we could have a discussion about the many excellent submittals, while obviously not diminishing the honor and accolades and happiness due the winners.

It seems there were many, many winners here..well done!!!

Let's hope for many of these competitions...what fun....

      Thanks....
