If I Could See My Mama Run
If I Could See My Mama Run
Life would be a lot more fun,
If I could see my "Mama" run.
I tried to think of things to say
About my "Mama" and her passing away.
It was hard to think, words just wouldn't come.
Often-times, words don't come easy for some.
When I'm having problems, trouble, and the like,
I might visit some back-roads on my bike.
Maybe a hike, maybe a run.
Quite often my problems are gone when I'm done.
I'm gonna ride for my "Mama" today,
Cause I've never seen her run or play.
I remember my "Mama" when I was small.
She wore braces and crutches which made her fall.
Broken feet, broken legs, broken hips,
But she tried to always have a smile on her lips.
For every child, grandchild, nephew, and niece,
Her devotion, praise, and love never ceased.
My "Mama" is free of her pain today.
Her physical imperfections are taken away.
No more falling, no more falling.
And now I can hear my "Mama" calling,
"Let's go for a walk, a run, or a ride.
It's easy now to be at your side."
So don't take for granted your physical traits,
A beautiful, wide-open world awaits.
Take your kids for a walk.
Take your kids for a talk.
Cherish the moments, cherish the fun.
It won't be long till our journey's done.
I'm gonna ride for my "Mama" today.
Now I can see my "Mama" play.
You can be sure that life is more fun,
When we all can see everybody run.
I still love you "Mama".
