   I can't help but think it isn't quite a coinscedence(sp) that my hub score dropped four points since changing my avatar to a real picture of me.  I know it goes off averages, too and I did add a new hub but that was yesterday and the score dropped three days ago and hasn't come up.  Are people really that superficial?

      Looking at you knew avatar, I'm pretty sure that you score went up 97 points and you are really t 193, but Hubpages isn't able to track 3 digit scores.

         You are too kind. {blushing} Normally I don't fret the score going up and down, it does that frequently but it hasn't been this low in some time and it certainly hasn't stayed low for more than a day, maybe two. I guess I'll just have to adjust or figure something out! LOL

            Don't worry mine was at its highest a few days ago and dropped 5 points from 96-91, the lowest Ive had in a long time.. as long as it doesn't go below 90 I am happy for now

      that happened when i changed mine from the pic you see here, to a different one in which my boobs werent involved. I wasnt sure if it was a coincidence or not, but i changed back because i like this picture. And guess what...my score went back up.

   come off it Chaotic, your new pic is great, and has no relationship to your hub score altering. When ever i publish a new hub my score drops by 1/2or 3 points then after a few days works its way back- so stop getting paranoid we all love you.

      Thank you guys!  I guess I did get a bit paranoid but it just seems odd that the score dropped before I added the new hub and then has stayed low.  I always feel that if my score dips too low for too long then I must be doing something wrong.

   Looking at your real picture, I can't begin to imagine why it should have any negative effect ...
   
   Besides, I used to have a horrible, passport-like photo of myself on my profile, and changing it made absolutely no difference to score etc..
   
   I think the drop has to do with something else, but I wouldn't worry about it.

         Okay ... but whenever (often) I get a drop, I never know why, and it goes up again anyway.
         
         Of course, I would worry if it kept going down ... and down ... and down ... Until that really starts happening (down to the late seventies?), don't worry

      Hmmm~now THAT I did not know...... I thought the administrators had at least a little something to do with it.  Although potential viewers do see it and their opinion does affect the score by their viewing [or not] of one's hubs.  Good to know though-thanks!

   I did a bunch of experimenting with avatar pics - I found that around Christmas I really got attention with a chesty gal in a santa costume - no face mainly focussed on her breasts!  But then I got so I felt kinda funny about that kind of thing and so I finally put the kitten on and I like it and now I know if my score goes down or up it ain't cuz of the pic.  But what I don't know is how to get my score to stay at 100!  I made it there twice in the past week but it only stays for about 1/2 a day and then it dives again.  I am working hard. 
   
   I'm sure your avatar pic didn't make your score dive - I don't think that is included in the calculations for hubber score - your avatar pic is really nice now.  Keep it that way!  Its nice to see what people look at.  I don't have mine on because I don't like to see my face everytime I post something   its kinda of scary  but yours isn't

      Mega~Your first paragraph kind of proves my point.  If people like what they see, they are more likely to look at more of your work and vice versa.
      
      As far as seeing your face, I know what you mean.  I am my own worst critic and all I see is the excess weight I've gained.  I appreciate your compliment, though and I think I will keep it.  At least for a while! LOL
