   I'm finding this week's topic sadly ironic, considering I wanted desperately to blow my savings on a shiny i-pad. My parents voted the idea down quickly and lectured me on being frugal.

      You can show your parents how frugal you are by buying a Nook Tablet or Kindle Fire - not quite the same as the shiny i-Pad but still really cool! Just bought the Tablet myself!
      
      Gonna write a hub based on why I chose the Nook instead of the iPad and link it to being Frugal!

    Living in California all of my life, I don't plan on moving.  When it comes to saving water, I have programmed myself to think "drought," and I make an effort not to waste water.  Once you get into the habit of conserving water, it becomes automatic.

    I'm always dumbfounded at how expensive it is for families to go see a movie together. A family of four can easily spend $60 for tickets and a little popcorn for 90 minutes entertainment.

    February 2012 is my 10th year into retirement, and it is the best time of my life.  I am happy and grateful for what I have, including my inner circle of family and friends.

             k:  Too funny!  Love it!  Since Valentine's Day, I simply cannot stop making things!  Yes, one does see retirement differently.  I don't even get upset in traffic.  When someone cuts me off, I just smile and wave.  I'm no hurry to get to my destination.  I'll get there when I get there.

          Thank you, Simone!  I'd better know something about retirement.  I've been at it for 10 years, and some of it wasn't all that peachy.  It took me 7 years to adjust to the fact that I wasn't going back to work.  DUH!  Others are fortunate to jump right in and enjoy it.  Of course, I'm the oddball on this one.  What else is new?  Ha!

    I wrote about three wild green foods you can pick on a country walk and turn into wonderful meals, that will surely save on your family food bills - and make you feel well and happy because living frugally can mean a lot of fun.
