Go to the learning center here:

          http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/contents

Scroll down about halfway, and on the right you will see a heading called "Affiliate Settings." There are quite a few articles there explaining the different ways of making money and how to get them set up.

Another way to find the learning center is to hover your mouse over your screen name in the black bar at the top of the screen. A gray drop-down menu box will pop up and you'll see an option for the learning center there.

I've seen several people profiled as HP success stories who are making more than $1000 per month.  Thus, I do believe that $5000/month is possible, but it will probably take a massive amount of work to get to that level.

As to the question itself, although it seems to have given some people heartburn I don't have a problem with it.  I see nothing wrong with someone trying to gauge the potential of the site and determine how much of their time and effort to devote to it.

Look, nobody makes that kind of money off of this site exclusively.

This site is the BEST site...but you have to branch out to other revenue sharing sites that allow you to link back to here to be able to pull that kind of cash out of the world wide web.

No, I've done nothing like that - but you can bet that I know the game now, and will get to that level if I am able to continue on uninterrupted.

Highest earner I heard of here was on $100 a day, and even then not every day.

            100 x 30 = $3000.

Izzy - if you are referring to Misha...that was just adsense!!!!

I'd be doing nothing but firing shots in the dark.

I'd think that Sunforged made a ton with both - and he is certainly a huge amazon.com guy.

I don't see how he COULDN'T be a huge adsense guy too!

There is a profile here for a woman called "Isabella Snow" or something like that, and before she changed her profile to hide her accolades she had a traffic accolade for THIRTEEN MILLION PAGE VIEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd guess she's the absolute QUEEN of this entire website - but of course that is speculation.

I no of nobody with better traffic stats - she's probably at twenty million page views now.

Nelle Hoxie comes to mind.  She commented that before Panda and HP changes destroyed her here on HP she had met her goal of topping $5000 each month.  Of course that was almost exclusively Amazon - Nelle never did truly learn the Adsense end of it, but no one was better than she was at Amazon sales.

                    Ahh..Nelle..I miss her!

It's never been my business to ask what other people earn, but considering that Hubpages is just one possible income stream online, no I'm pretty sure Nelle never saw a $5000 month with just HP either.

Most of these guys, Sunforged included, have a wide portfolio.

They may well earn a lot more than this, but not through HP alone.

No I would stick my neck out on this one, and say definitely not on HP alone.

BUT, HP may have given them good backlinks to other places and the combined income may well have exceeded this amount.

Because the people you are talking about were good writers too - what a combo, good writers AND SEO experts.

I guess for me personally, it seems like $5000 is impossible, but maybe there are some hubbers who earn that much. Nothing is impossible. It certainly doesn't hurt to shoot for $5000. After basically giving up and letting my first few sit for over a year and making maybe 50 cents a month, I have been working on adding hubs and it I'm appears I'm on target for $50 next month. After that I guess I could shoot for $500, and then why not $5000? It's a roller coaster, so who knows?

Many things are possible, but not overnight. Also, often what's told in secret is often told in secret because little of it is true...

It seems to me that earning money is very important these days so this is a motivational forum for us to target good money so spend and live good lives.

          hi iefox,

Do you believe so? My friend told that before I write here but I did not believe. Few years later I started here so it was depressing.

        In Nelle's own words...

.... I did delete most of my Nelle hubs. It was just time for them to go. I have started a new website using my real name - which is Nelle Hoxie and it is about Cape Cod travel, culture and arts. I also want to write these kinds of hubs under my name as well. It just didn't seem like a good idea to me, to have people come here to read about Cape Cod and then see that I sell pressure cookers on the side. So the only hubs left are those relating to Cape Cod travel and the arts.

        and

Well those Nelle hubs didn't stand the test of time. And no lrohner they weren't the ones I just edited. I've had it in the back of my mind for a while. So when the rules changed I worked on other identities first. When I saw how much work I have to do to make them first class hubs, I couldn't let them stay on my flagship identity.

Will, one thing she didn't want was her real name used in the forums as she was wanting to let it die off, and not front the search engines. Could you edit your post where you quoted Nelle?
        Nelle ***** should confuse Google.

I am quoting stuff that is already online. Izzy. It wouldn't make any difference.
