Obama under the guise of not making new citizens pledge allegiance to this country has removed it from other places including the schools! Surely all others in power will not let this stand, do you think? So many wanted to deny the absence of flags at the DNC but clearly this is what it is all about. The democrats want to do away with America altogether it would appear. Surely the democratic party has some patriots left in it to stand up against this. Do you think?
I guess this answers Obama's reluctance to place his hand over his heart to this country which has given him so much!

@ Jackie, I read a very interesting article a few weeks ago about Hillary being into Globalism and how she would "tenderly" lead her sheep (us) into the ways and ideologies of the world and other nations and in the process, dismantle under the guise or disguise rather of being more tolerant of other races.
Pretty much the thinking of Obama and even George W. Bush was slightly mentioned in this article along with Rumsfield, so to be fair, it is not "just" Clinton who thinks that America, the name and foundation should be washed away with laws and easy-to-eat slop from her bucket, so can we stand against this cold and unfeeling Globalism?
Sure. Vote in November is one way.

I don't know where you are getting your information from, but it is completely false.

My wife is in her 42nd year working as a school teacher and I know, for a fact, her kids say the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of each school day.

The problem is more that they don't know what the pledge means and THAT  isn't being taught to them !

No, the bigger problem is people who don't understand the difference between bogus news and real news inflicting their ignorance upon us by voting.. They have that right, but can't they be responsible about it?

Well, until you have walked a day in my wife's shoes and observed exactly what happens in her classroom, then you really don't know what is happening in the real world. This is the propaganda that is tearing this country apart. My wife's kids know all too well about the meaning of the Pledge, the sacrifice of Americans and what it means to be American. Sorry for those who go through life with blinders on.

Jackie, the site behind the url you post is not the real ABC news, but a spoof.  If you type in abcnews.com (not abcnews.com.co) it will redirect to http://abcnews.go.com/ which is the real ABC news site. The spoof is so poorly done, they don't even do the ABC news logo correctly - they use the wrong font for "abc". Plus, the rest of the stories on the site obviously would not be posted by the real ABC news.

All the more reason for being able to discern reality from fiction .

Both online and on television, CNN edited out Sherelle Smith calling for rioters to take their violence “to the suburbs.”

Correspondent Ana Cabrera reported Ms. Smith was “calling for peace” in a nationally televised segment Monday on CNN Newsroom, the Washington Times reported.

This is the kind of sleezy editing that is done to paint Trump in a negative light, while painting Clinton is a positive light.  They spread disinformation!  The Clinton News Network (CNN) is the most dishonest, which is owned by Time Warner, big supporter of the Clinton campaign.

<snipped>, uh back, if you check the ownership of the liberal media, you will find that their owners are extremely conservative masters of dissension. They love to let their media stir up controversy and make it look like "liberals" did it. It makes them lots of greenbacks. Do some research on ownership. Rupert Mucdoch, for instance.

But it has been known that conservatives discredit independent thought and inquiry by any student. There is nothing more dangerous within the Rightwing universe than an independent thinker, thus your constant war against the very idea of universal public school and higher education.

          The dark side ?

The exact definition of the dark side is the systematic indoctrination of undeveloped minds of our youth through out  our education system .    While the practices  and principles of structural  socialism could never stand on their own ;  it is the  subsidization by tax dollars and the NEA and  thus the  acquired attention in classrooms by extreme liberal ideology that  IS of the dark side .

Your idea of independent thought of liberals - is  the greatest joke of all ! Turning our kids into the   Little Eichmann's  of a Nazi like  thinking process and  leaving this mess  that is   our education system ,   isn't independence , it is actually systematic  mind control !    I'm not even a conspiracy theorist -but one visit to a school these days  is all one needs to see it!

Proof ?    Look at the inner cities  in America , look at the university systems  ,  look at the welfare systems  ,   look at our health care systems .  Can you spell b-r-o--k-e-n ?  Our kids are dumber  than  fifty  percent of the rest of the world.    Yea ,    liberals can take credit for a lot !

PrettyPanther hit the nail on the head. Fundamentally, educated people don't believe all these conspiracy theories. I think it's probably unfair to call people who believe this stuff morons. It's largely lack of education. They haven't been trained to think objectively. Sadly, a lot of these people are highly religious and they've been brainwashed by their religious institutions.

Fox News, Breitbart, Drudge - all these sites have been objectively shown to be full of lies (not entirely, but mostly. Which is not to say mainstream media doesn't peddle some untruths). Just look at what Fox is peddling now: the polls are fake, not accurate. Hillary Clinton has some kind of health crisis. It's just a joke.

And the fact we're even talking about this is a joke. The right-wing has cast science as a liberal institution. Science is no longer trustworthy. Climate change is a hoax. There's no such thing as the greenhouse gas effect! If the right-wing understood the science, they would be able to draw accurate conclusions. However, not only does the right-wing not understand the science (or just want to shill for big oil, who is mostly behind all the "climate change is a hoax" stuff), they simply believe the conclusions drawn by their media. This is simply just a debate between the uneducated and the educated.

Poor education is certainly a factor but I'm not sure you can blame all this on that. A person of my acquaintance has a degree in economics from a decent university. Here is a recent conversation:
          Him: "Obama is a Muslim."
          Me: "No he's not."
          Him: "Where have you been?"
Back to the education thing, it's noticeable that many of the apologists for the right-wing in this thread use very poor grammar and spelling.

Whatever. You are the side of anti-science (otherwise known as anti-fact). You are the side of paranoia and fear. Just look at all the imagined stuff Trump has come up with. Trump supporters are cowering in fear of ISIS supporters coming across our borders and ISIS attacks on our soil. Trump supporters are afraid of Mexican rapists. Trump supporters believe he will build a wall. While you can certainly find an example of some of this stuff, it's hardly an issue in the daily lives of 99.9%of Americans. Meanwhile, more people are being deported in this country than ever before and the vetting of people coming into this country is more thorough than ever before. And amazingly, there's an incredibly simple solution to the illegal immigrant problem - punish companies that hire them. Put those companies out of business if they use illegal immigrant labor. Problem solved. If there are no jobs here, there is no illegal immigration problem. Your side covets stupidity and promotes stupidity and fear.

That said, the way media feed us the news is largely a reflection of a very stupid population of non-thinkers.
