Christians and non-Christians What do you think of this sign?
Found this being passed around facebook. Curious what others thought.
Oh man! No more vegetables for me! I guess I shouldn't sleep in the park anymore, either.
My first thought is, it looks photo-shopped. Assuming that it's real, it's hardly surprising. There is a quote by Gandhi that pretty much sums it up:
"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."
~ Mahatma Gandhi
It's inflammatory and feeds the need for attention of the person(s) who posted this drivel on a public sign (assuming it isn't photoshopped). You know the old saying negative attention is better than no attention at all. I'd say based on this sign's rant Hell will be a much more fun place to hang out I'll have more in common with those folks than the angry hate-filled person who created this sign lol.
I love God, but hate the sh!t heads at places like this. Jesus came to save the sinners, not rebuke them. There were many in the Bible the judged the sinners, but Jesus said those were the people that he came to save. We're all sinners, including the a$$hole that wrote that sign.
I always thought it was funny how people think so highly of themselves. The lot of us has the audacity to actually believe that we are bigger than our little, frail bodies and we know the truth about so many things. I think this trait is the reason we are so judgmental towards each other.
Honestly, if we were sophisticated enough to know everything we think we know, we would have been made decision makers in the plan and not just pawns awaiting the truth.
I heard somewhere that if you want to know where your heart is, look to what gets most of your attention. This person or church seems to have all their attention on taking attendance in hell so perhaps they will be the first ones there.
FYI - I am christian...
If the person who wrote the sign were truly following the teachings of christ the sign would end with "are all welcome here, come join us." Jesus was renowned in his time for dining with thieves and prostitutes; this sign does not convey his teachings at all.
this is a reason why there is so much hate towards churches etc ... no one apart from God knows who will go to hell and who will enter the gates of heaven ... the priests of various religions including my own could even be the first in line to enter hell ...
its about intentions (not about actions), and no one has the right in this world to tell anyone that they will go to hell. this shows arrogance which God does not like at all.
Apparently that paster isn't aware that he doesn't sit at the right hand of God .. we don't have the right to judge .. only God does .. seems like he needs to remember that!!
IF this is authentic, I would never set foot inside that church. It is a terrible thing for so Christians to post.
I can't stand to be in the company of 'holier than thou' pious, judgmental individuals. What do I think of this sign? It's awful.
Blessings, Sparklea
I have a feeling that it is photo shop and that it was meant to point fun at religious fanaticism. But if it was real and it was meant to be serious then it is narrow minded and hateful. It also contradicts the teachings of Christ.
This is a prime example of the BS that drives others away from churches and Christian preaching. The outrageousness of the message appears to be a last ditch effort to attract attention, and it has worked! Unfortunately, it serves to harm the credibility of God's word and makes a mockery of Christian faith.
You run people off with hate, not draw them in. This sign is not needed.
Stay Well
Where in the bible does it say you can't skateboard?! To me it seems that the pastor's the one who should 'repent now'!
Looks like the same hate mongering rhetoric that all religions use to scare and intimidate people. I am just glad they made it so incredibly stupid. To give an ounce of respect to anyone who has these views is almost as vile as the views themselves.
I would prefer it if the last two lines said "are all welcome here." Christ said that he would tell those who do not serve the poor and needy that he had never met them. He also said, "judge not, lest you be judged." So, I don't know if all the folks listed on the sign are going to hell, but the author of the sign is certainly in deep doo-doo, and Jesus would call him to repent!
It doesn't make me angry, because the pastor has obviously lost his mind. Or he's just trying to drum up business.
I think this sign proves just how judgmental the Christians really are in any event. SO sad.
Is this the church where Glenn Beck prays??????? That sign is some of his idiocy, almost word-for-word........
I don't think there are many of us out there that do not fall under one of those categories. I find it amusing and quite ridiculous.
If it's real, I think it's unfortunate, but I don't think a list like that is representative of most churches.
We have a choice to make that will shape our eternal destiny: Heaven or Hell? Are we going to say to God thy will be done or is He going to say to us thy will be done? Turn to Him today. read more
not cool...I'm thinking either it's not real or it's a cult
The pastor who has put this sign definitely does not know Christianity or Christ. Christ stood for forgiveness and sat and dined with sinners. Is this pastor trying to be something more than Christ?
the irony of this sign is that the church will still have followers. these followers are part of the people the sign says will go to hell but the followers will act like they are not like that. it's sad.
I think it is a hoax and is not something to be taken seriously.
No offense to anyone but this sign is hilarious!!!! I think it's a good advert for drawing in the curious and the nervous! Who ever wrote the sign is in the wrong job, they would have made a good copywriter! OOPS!!! But Copywriters are probably going to hell as well!
That sign looks like something that will spark off enmity and aggression.
Everyone is different. Everyone has a different approach in seeing life and dealing with situations. Even if a person advocated a faith or belief, this does not mean that everyone in the world supports it.
In the words of Forrest Gump "Stupid is as stupid does."
I don't know if that sign is real but this one unfortunately is. This sign was held by a guy who calls himself Shawn the Baptist (www.shawnthebaptist.com) and his friend John at Southwest Minnesota State University. Luckily they're not legally allowed to do that so they got kicked off campus. Shawn travels but John continues to bother students at the campus.
Awkwardly enough John likes to go to Christian Music festivals (Like Sonshine in Minnesota) and yell at the little Christian children for not being Christian enough.
Every group has it's wierd ones, sometimes they get a soap box.
I am a Christian and I think the sign is very sad. I believe in grace through faith. We don't have to "earn" our way into heaven because we can't. Jesus died on the cross so that all who believed would be saved and have eternal life and that includes surfers, skateboarders, musicians, artists, vegetarians, occupiers, activists, addicts, fornicators, and hubpagers
Looks like hell's the place to go. More action and excitement. Playing a harp on a cloud would be dull stuff compared with that other stuff. Not sure what an 'occupier' is. Addicts - depending on what they're on - are probably already in hell anyway. Fornicators. Does that mean that Nature's gift to one of our greatest pleasures, sex, is out? Surely not. And vegetarians! You poor sods! You go out of your way not to be cruel to God's creatures by killing and eating them only to end up shovelling coal in the stoke hold.
I think whoever wrote this is simply either joking or very, very mentally sick.
The sign is true, but I don't know if it does a good job at achieving it's intended goal. You could insert any category of people in that list because there's someone from every walk of life going to hell right now.
I think it's just plain sad and it makes me sick with it's message of hate. The sign would be so uplifting if it was welcoming instead of comdemning.
Vegetarians! lol How dare you not eat the meat I gave you! Satan, can you come collect this naughty child.

There's a lot of going back and forth about how Christians are this that or another. Yet no one ever pins down exactly what specific belief it is that makes Christians delusional, or hateful or whatever. The fact is that not all Christians believe the same thing, and not even members of our own...

If you claim to be christian, what difference does it make to your life? If I hear your proclamation, your words professing your “faith,” what am I likely to notice about you that is different than if you did not profess christianity? If you are a successful business person, and you have “squeezed”...

Can another person decide who is and is not a Christian?I will just leave it at that. I am really interested about views on this. Thank you if you would write a note.

If Jesus was companions to sinners and criminals, then why do Christians demoralize them?Jesus was always around these peoples, the sinners and the criminals and the tax collectors, the poor and homeless in his day and even dined with them. Why do Christians shun these people? Jesus did...

Christians, could you ever love or even like an atheist?I'm an atheist and at least 90% of the people I love are Christians. I only have a problem with Christians who use religion as a weapon to harm or control others. Obviously, I know Christians can love atheists because, well, all those people I...
