Hire An HP Writer For Good PR

Has HP ever hired an HP writer? Probably the #1 complaint I have heard from HP writers during my eight years, other than poor payments, is that HP doesn't really listen to the writers, that writers feel detached from the HP staff.  So  I'm suggesting a new HP position...a writer who will serve as a go-between, who will read various hubs, give positive feedback, encourage writers, and make them feel like the articles they write really matter to the HP staff.

And yes, I would be happy to take on this challenge.  I am well-known in the HP community, and I am known to be encouraging and helpful.  No, I won't work for free, but HP can definitely afford me, and my contribution would be invaluable to HP  and appreciated by the writers I'm sure.

I think you would be very helpful in our community. You spend time and energy helping us be better writers each week, answering our question's, giving us tips and just encouraging us. I vote yes!

I second that.  The one thing HubPages is missing is a 'Simone' - perhaps you can change your name:)  She really made HubPages writers feel as if they mattered and I know you do Billy.

Bill, as I was reading, I thought you'd be perfect for the job. I know how much this means to you because, as a rule, you stay away from the forums.

I think your suggestion is a much-needed position to support the writers who keep this site alive. Constructive criticism and mentoring is what aspiring writers need, rather than getting cold "your article has been snipped" emails from editors who may or may not be writers.

Community is all about helping others. HP is (supposed to be) a community. Let's make it so!

I'm behind your one thousand percent, my friend!

        Love,
        Sha

Oh, how I wish HP would consider this! When thinking of our online community, my mind immediately goes to Bill. Even though he's not on the forums often, he's known for his weekly mailbag with its helpful advice and generous encouragement. When I read it, I feel connected to this community and motivated to write. Otherwise, I feel alone. HP, you'd be so fortunate to have Bill!

Great idea, Bill. If you got paid for all the good you do for us writers on HP, nobody could afford you. I mean it.

I upvote this too. Great idea. So many lonely voices crying "please help me". It would be good to have someone who knows how to do this.

Simone's job has been taken over by Samantha Cubbison
who is a Curator and Copy Editor / and ... Community Manager (see Meet the Team). Could it be the case that Samantha has too many other duties (curator and copy editor) to fully devote herself to community management? She did say: "there are only about 2 people who actually moderate the forum regularly, so it can sometimes take time to process each thread smile"

So yes, I agree that the job of Community Manager, i.e. liaising with writers should be
      a) an independent job on its own and
      b) the job should go to an experienced HP writer

Bill Holland, long term Best All-Around Hubber and also Most Helpful Hubber could replace Samantha as community manager to give her more time to devote herself to curating and copy editing.

      I propose that:
The winner of the title "Best Hubber and Most Helpful Hubber automatically qualifies for the post of Community Manager.

If the recommendations of the writers are of any value. I recommend you. Another such invaluable writer is WriterFox.

This is the best forum suggestion I have read in ages, and there would be no one better for the job. We just have to let HP know what an asset such a position would be to them. I support your proposal 100% Bill.

Great idea. I am all for this. You help us all a lot with your Writers Mailbag, Bill. I think you would be ideal in this role. You definitely get my vote. A labourer is worthy of his hire too. So I'm in favour of remuneration for the position.

Thanks to all of you. I really don't care if it is me or not, but I do think that HP needs to add a more personal touch to this site.  We are all one big virtual family; it would be nice if HP acted like it.

I like the idea, Bill. But this seems to be the last choice if hoped to be. I would love to see you writing for HP and working as their editor. Well, fingers crossed to that.
      You never know!
Stay rosy and cosy, my friend.
I hope, Bev feels better soon.

You would be perfect for this job at HP, Bill.  I hope that those in power seriously consider this proposal of yours.  You would get my vote!
