Super Mario Galaxy 2 Walkthrough Part 17: World Three Prankster Comet Stars
Tall Trunk Galaxy
Tall Trunk's Purple Coin Slide
This is another time where you have to go down the slide. Only this time, you have to get 100 purple coins. There are actually 140 of them there, but it is still tricky to get the 100 of those.
Start by getting the 4 there, and then you really have to carefully steer so you do not miss those in the way here. You will really need to learn some level of control.
Go through the tunnel. You then need to leap over the prickly bushes, and then go to the left to get about ten or so, if you are lucky. Keep going, and follow the curves to the next tunnel.
You should probably go left when you are in this tunnel, as you can get a lot more purple coins this way. Then keep following the path, jumping when appropriate. There is about ten after a jump here that are worth getting.
From then on, it is about taking curves, jumping, and going through tunnels. You should be able to get to the end with over 100.
If you see that you are not even going to get close to that amount, just hit Go to Starship Mario, and play the level again. That, or just lose the life and save time.
Cloudy Court Galaxy
The Shadow Lining
The first step in this level is to run on one of these self-making platforms, and keep going until you get all five pieces of a Star Launcher. Keep in mind that you will be pursued by Cosmic Clones, so make this run as fast as possible, or they will catch up to you. Go ahead and take the Star Launcher.
You will then be going on a place where you must rely on pieces falling into place so you can wall-jump to reach the next level. When you get on some level ground, keep going, and don't forget to wall-jump again and get the Mini-launcher. Launch off and you will be on a pathway again.
Keep following the path until you reach another mini-Launcher. Then there is nothing to do but launch off, where you will land at a place near the star. Quickly crack the crystal before the Cosmic clones show up. You will have the Star. Not very hard, this one.
Haunty Halls Galaxy
Spooky Cosmic Clone Chase
Okay, this is nothing but something that I believe that you have done before. You just have to run on the carpets and watch out for the carpet chompers.
Unfortunately, there are the Cosmic Clones following you. This means that you had better move quickly, and do not double back.
After you get past two stages of carpet chompers, you will need to go across this one area that is kind of easy to fall through the cracks.
Then you need to go on this other area with those green tiles that disappear when you touch them.
The Star is encased in crystal, so smash it to get it out.
Rolling Masterpiece Galaxy
Masterpiece Speed Run
Okay, this is just like before, but you have two minutes to get through it.
Just like before, but faster. When you get to the paintbrushes thing, get the key by rolling around the ball. When you get the key, just turn around and roll the other way. If you keep rolling the way that you are on, then you will just get yourself trapped in a brush prison with no way out.
Very quicky handle the path that appears as you roll, if necessary, do jumps. Those will speed you up.
Nothing to do but ride the elevator.
Get on those blue tiles fast. Don't you dare double back. Just get the one in front, then two, then the three.
Roll to the cannon, and go through this one area very speedily. Watch out for the bomb guys, who make do more than knock you off course.
Take risks to get rid of the Chomp guy. I find that just bouncing up next to him by jumping does a great number on him. You will probably not have a lot of time by then.
Beat Block Galaxy
Silver Stars in Double Time
Okay, this is where it gets tricky as the tiles switch quickly. The first two areas you can jump around, and when you get to the four in a row, just wait until you have a solid tile, and then run on it and then do a long jump before it disappears. You might want to do a spin jump to make certain that you get to the other side.
I think you can get yourself a Yoshi, but I found that it was easier to do it without him. If you want, he is good for his hovering skills.
There will be a step here, and you should quickly hop on it. (Preferably when the tile is not in place, as that will insure it is in place when you land on it.
You can then do a long jump to pass up those dangerous tile areas. You can then get the checkpoint flag and do some tricky maneuvering.
It is about jumping from one tile to the next, and jumping before the one you are standing on disappears.
You will soon make it to this one area where there is a checkpoint flag.
You can then run and long jump across the tiles, You then have to make it across tiles until you get the five silver stars. This is very tricky.
The first one is easy, just go on the solid ground and do a backward somersault to the safe area above it. You can then hang off the safe area and get the first one
Work your way around to get the second and third, which requires some trick timing. You got to learn how long it takes to jump to one tile to the other, especailly when one is up from the other. You can jump to the solid ground on top, and then jump down one to get the fourth star.
The fifth star is in the corner, but you might be able to make a long jump to it from the top. That, or work your way down. It is tricky.
When you get the silver star, all you need to do is jump to get up to the top and get the Star.
Bowser Jr's Fearsome Fleet
Megahammer's Daredevil Dash
This happens just like before, but you start out at the area where you face Bowser Jr. and his mighty robot. The problem is, you only have one life. So if you get hit, you die. I could just reprint what I wrote last time, but go ahead and read the last part of World Three Normal Stars.
