Okay, time to take on the Green Stars. Now, before you do this, you have to defeat Bowser twice on World 6.
Sky Station Galaxy
Green Star 1
This one is easy to find, as it is around the big round house at the beginning. You will see and hear its sparkly sound floating up near these weird “C” section. You will then need to do a backwards somersault off the wall, and get the star.
Green Star 2
Eventually, you will reach the area with the yellow platforms and grassy area. There is a Star Launcher here, but don’t take it. Instead, leap over the picket fence and get the green star.
Green Star 3
You will soon get to that wooden tube where you need to leap and leap. You will need to avoid the Star Launcher, and go to the warp pad. You will see the Green Star floating high above, and you can backwards somersault and wall-jump to it.
Yoshi Star Galaxy
Green Star 1
There is a small pill shaped hill that you can get on a flexing trampoline device that will put you on the top. You can use Yoshi to get there, and then jump straight up. Hover up there as long as you can, and then do a flutter jump.
Green Star 2
You will then go to the area with big fruit to make the Star Launcher. If you go to the right, you will see a cave in the big rock wall that you can jump over with Yoshi. Do a hover jump, and you will get it.
Green Star 3
This green star is located after one of the main stars. Don’t free it from the crystal, or you might get it accidentally. You and Yoshi will then need to get the “spindles” until you get underneath the green star. You can then hover and use the dismount jump (Z plus A) to reach the star.
Spin-Dig Galaxy
Green Star 1
You might remember that weird area where you must drill to get higher and higher to the Star Launcher. You will see the Green Star in the area, but it is in between the two sides. If you can stand on the fence, and then do a backwards somersault with a spin-jump and get it.
Green Star 2
This particular star is located on the area with all the yellow platforms. You will see it hovering over a yellow platform with a shadow. You can do a backwards somersault with a spin-jump, and you’ll snag that pretty star with ease.
Green Star 3
This is one of the times where obtaining a green star requires a loss of health. It requires that you get to the area where you dig with a drill, and you will see the green star hanging there. The problem is, you will have the drill, and you won’t be able to get to it. The trick is to lose the drill by being hit with the evil yellow drill guy. You can then do a backwards somersault wall jump to get the star.
Flip-Swap Galaxy
Green Star 1
You will find the first green star by the electric fences, and you will see this star floating high. You will see the shadow of it when the flipped tiles are red. I found that a backwards somersault follow by a spin-jump will get it.
Green Star 2
The next area is the one with the Chomps. You will see its shadow as well, and you can do the backwards somersault with the spin-jump to snag it again.
Fluffy Bluff Galaxy
Green Star 1
Now the first star is hovering very far up, right where you entered the level. You will see it high in the air, but can’t get to it without a cloud mushroom. Fortunately, there is one on a dais in the water, and you need to grab it and do a long jump back to the first area. Don’t touch the water, or you will lose the much needed mushroom. You can then do a backwards somersault up high, make a cloud, and keep doing it until you reach it.
Green Star 2
Okay, this one star was somewhat hard to find, but it is a cliff wall at the beginning. If you can use a cloud mushroom to get to the top of the tree. You can then use the launcher to get to the top of the cloud with the Luma shop. If you go to the corner, you will find the green star at this cliff.
Hopefully, you will have two clouds left, and I decided one of the best strategies is to leap from the edge of the cloud, and fall until you get to about the level of the star and make a cloud. This is hard because the camera angle changes. You should be able to get it after your last cloud, and keep trying until you do.
Green Star 3
You’ll notice the Green Star by the star that you would normally seek. I found that I had to figure out which direction to jump to, and then long jump that direction. You need to have a cloud mushroom, and then work your way to the Green Star.
Rightside Down Galaxy
Green Star 1
You will find this green star hanging around after the whole fire flower area. There is a green area where the gravity shifts, which makes it really hard to get the green star. Start at the green area and then do a long jump, followed by a spin on the green star. I don’t know why it works sometimes and not others, but you will get it.
Green Star 2
Just before you get to the star, you will encounter the Thwomps. You can backwards somersault on the one all the way to the right, and then run off the top of it with a long jump and get to an area with a toad mushroom, and then wall jump to the green star.
Bowser Jr.’s Fiery Flotilla
Green Star 1
There is a green star here that can be obtained in two hard ways. I probably didn’t do it right.
When you get to the area with the Dry Bones and Mini Launcher, you can do a long jump past the launcher and purposely fall in the lava, you have two bounces to get to the top of the gate on that side, and then go left to the tower. Do a backwards somersault and wall jump up to this gap in the tower, and then one more jump with a spin to get to the top. You will have the star.
Now, here is the other way. Remember when you got the Comet Medal on the Thwomp before? Well, you can backwards somersault and then spin jump to the top of the wall. Go left and pick up the 1UP, and then go on the wall to the top of the tower and get the green star that way.
Green Star 2
There is a section here where the green star hovers above a globe of lava. You should probably grab a Six-Life mushroom, as it will be needed. Like one of the ways I described getting Green Star 1 at this level, you have to jump into the lava, and then bounce until you get the green star. Fortunately, you can control your bouncing.
