CBP Chief Bovino, federal agents seen roaming Chicago's Southwest Side...

    ROAMING???

    What about the targeted arrests?

The heavily armed Border Patrol agents stopped and got out of their vehicles holding their weapons closely at numerous spots in various neighborhoods.

"People were just going on their normal day, and here they come and harass and terrorize our community," Little Village Community Council President Baltazar Enriquez said..

He was seen making numerous stops in the middle of intersections with agents to make a show of force and get back into their vehicles and continue.

    Random stops?

Everyone of the ice or border patrol goons that piled onto a disabled citizen should be fired and prosecuted... It has become glaringly obvious that there are no targeted arrests happening in these cities.  What they have are roaming bands of gestapo harassing and arresting anyone in their path.  Absolutely appalling, that Trump's personal army are aimlessly marching through neighborhoods for the sole purpose of intimidation.

Good point — we’re only seeing a short 10-second clip. From what I can tell in these clips, the individuals are resisting arrest, struggling while being handcuffed, or refusing to exit their vehicles. It seems that ICE officers would not need to use force if the person complied peacefully. We also know very little about what was said or done before the officers felt it necessary to act. What we do know is that those being detained are provided due process and are released if it’s determined they should not be held.

I recall one a couple of days ago that Willow posted.  Seems some woman attacked ICE, then ran.  Into a day care, from where they removed her.

Somehow she was apparently hired in those few seconds as a "teacher", making it SO much worse when she was "dragged" (read: forced) out in front of "her" children.

Yes, I saw that post, and looked into it --- To clarify, the woman in question, Diana Patricia Santillana Galeano, is currently in ICE custody awaiting deportation. She entered the U.S. illegally in 2023 and brought her teenage children with her, according to DHS. The incident began when ICE attempted to stop her vehicle; she reportedly resisted arrest and ran into the Rayito de Sol Spanish Immersion Early Learning Center in Chicago. Officers followed and removed her from the facility in front of children after she continued to resist. While her attorneys note that she has a valid work permit through a pending asylum application, that does not prevent ICE from detaining her. A federal judge has temporarily blocked her removal from the region while her case proceeds. This situation underscores the difficult balance ICE faces in enforcing immigration laws while operating in sensitive locations like schools and daycares.  Many being apprehended resist arrest.

In the video you posted showing migrants being arrested, I haven’t seen any instances where the individuals weren’t resisting arrest, struggling while being handcuffed, or refusing to exit a vehicle when asked. I think it is also relevant that we only see a very small segment on video of an arrest.  Seems to be getting only what the poster wants one to see.

But you won't give that.  Only unproven insinuations that ICE is evil, illegal and operating outside the law.  Perhaps you can provide a court case proving that even a single ICE agent was found guilty of illegal activity in an arrest by a jury of his peers?

On my way home from shopping today, I heard a report that ICE agents in Chicago were shot at. They managed to drive away, but the suspects are still being sought. No one was hurt. I can only imagine we will see more of this. There are people out there who feel they can become violent to suit their cause. Someone is going to be killed.

ICE pours large canister of pepper spray directly into family car—hitting 1-year-old baby.

"They were simply shopping at Sam's Club," said Matt, who filmed this video.

"ICE agents drove by and sprayed pepper spray directly inside—where their baby and 16-year-old sister sat."

"We got the family to Lawndale Christian Health Center for care and support."

The incident occurred outside Sam's Club near 26th Street and Ogden Avenue in Cicero, Illinois.

Masked ICE agents put damper on Oak Park Girl Scout food drive: ‘It’s heartbreaking as a mom’

When a group of Oak Park Girl Scouts and their parents set out for the group’s annual food drive Saturday morning, they imagined it would be a day of helping in their community.

Instead, the girls encountered masked U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents with weapons and vehicles with dark-tinted windows as the sounds of whistles pierced the air.

“It just went from a morning of us trying to do something good and teaching the kids about helping others,” said Brooke Groulx, an Oak Park parent. “ICE turned it into a scary and what felt like an unsafe environment for us to be out with these kids.”

    Question to AI....

Greg Bovino has appeared before a federal judge in Illinois on at least four occasions for court hearings, in addition to being ordered to make daily appearances for a period, which was stayed by an appeals court.
Here is a summary of his documented federal court appearances in Illinois, all related to a civil lawsuit filed by protesters and news organizations over the use of force by federal immigration agents during "Operation Midway Blitz" in late 2025:
October 28, 2025 (Tuesday): Bovino was ordered by U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis to appear for a hearing and testified for over an hour regarding federal agents' use of force and compliance with a temporary restraining order (TRO).
October 29, 2025 (Wednesday): He was initially ordered to begin daily evening check-ins with Judge Ellis, but this order was temporarily blocked by the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals via an emergency stay hours before his first scheduled appearance.
October 30, 2025 (Thursday): Bovino appeared in federal court for a sworn, videotaped deposition that was expected to last several hours.
November 4, 2025 (Tuesday): Bovino was deposed in federal court again as part of the suit.
November 6, 2025 (Thursday): A federal judge issued a preliminary injunction against federal agents over their use of force, and a judge stated that Bovino had lied under oath during his deposition testimony regarding his actions at protests. While he was the subject of the ruling, it is not explicitly clear if he was physically in the courtroom for this specific ruling, but he was certainly a central figure in the proceedings.
All these appearances were in the context of civil litigation (not a criminal trial for Bovino personally) in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

You need to offer a link to your source.  What AI offered me was that he had been in court, before the bench, once. All the rest you offered is far different than being in court, as you put it ----

      "Willowarbor wrote:

This was the only time he was before a judge.

October 28, 2025 (Tuesday): Bovino was ordered by U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis to appear for a hearing and testified for over an hour regarding federal agents' use of force and compliance with a temporary restraining order (TRO).

Sny other procedures were not before a judge, nor was one present.

BLOCKED   October 29, 2025 (Wednesday): He was initially ordered to begin daily evening check-ins with Judge Ellis, but this order was temporarily blocked by the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals via an emergency stay hours before his first scheduled appearance.

      What is confirmed

Bovino did indeed appear for a deposition as part of a federal case in the Chicago area. One source states he was deposed “on Nov. 4, 2025 … as part of a suit over immigration agents’ use of force” in the Chicago area.
      All Rise News

A federal judge (Sara Ellis of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois) said that Bovino “admitted that he lied” during the deposition about certain events.
      All Rise News

Bovino was ordered by the judge to appear for a five‑hour deposition (or what is described as such) in a case challenging federal agents’ use of force.
      All Rise News

The deposition was videotaped (one article says “sworn, videotaped deposition” references appear in coverage).
      All Rise News

❓ What is not clearly confirmed or is ambiguous

I did not find a credible source that confirms Bovino was deposed on October 30, 2025 (Thursday) and appeared in federal court that day for a sworn videotaped deposition expected to last several hours.

The statement that Bovino appeared in court on Oct 30 for the deposition is not clearly substantiated. While an appeals‑court article mentions he was scheduled for a five‑hour deposition “on Thursday” (which could correspond to Oct 30) in one piece.
      NPR Illinois

But scheduling a deposition is not the same as appearing in court for a hearing.

The statement for November 4, 2025 is supported: source says he was deposed on Nov 4.
      WTTW

Whether a judge was present during the deposition is not explicitly spelled out in the sources I found. Some depositions are conducted by attorneys (sides) and not necessarily in open court before a judge; others may be court‑ordered and overseen by a court. The sources show the judge ordered the deposition, but they don’t state the judge was present at the deposition itself.

The claim “in federal court” can be partially supported: this is a federal suit in the Northern District of Illinois, so in that sense yes. But whether the deposition took place in open court (in a courtroom with the judge) versus in an attorney’s office or remote deposition is not clearly specified.  AI

What AI offered me is that there is verification that Bovine was in court once...

ICE accused of pepper-spraying 1-year-old girl and her dad near Chicago

A father, his 1-year-old daughter and other family members were pepper-sprayed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents when they were going grocery shopping in a Chicago suburb last week, the family and supporters said Sunday at a news conference.

The episode unfolded on Saturday in the parking lot of a Sam’s Club in Cicero, Illinois, a Chicago suburb, said Rafael Veraza, the father. The family — who are all U.S. citizens, according to their supporters — canceled plans to buy groceries and was trying to drive out of the area after seeing a helicopter and hearing sirens that suggested a protest nearby.

Veraza, who was driving, said he noticed ICE trucks entering the parking lot as he was leaving with his windows rolled down. As his car and the ICE truck passed each other,  masked agent in the truck sprayed Veraza’s vehicle, Veraza said.

“Basically, I got sprayed all over my face,” Veraza told reporters. He soon noticed that the rest of his family had also been doused, including his daughter, who appeared to struggle to breathe. The family subsequently received medical treatment, he said.

Doctors called poison control for his daughter, while Veraza’s face had gone completely numb.

In a statement to the AP, the DHS denied that the pepper-spraying happened.

“There was no crowd control or pepper spray deployed in a Sam’s Club parking lot,” DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin told the AP in a statement Monday.

ICE has been accused of overstepping its authority in recent crackdowns in Chicago that the Trump administration has labeled “Operation Midway Blitz.”

A federal judge last week issued a preliminary injunction that bans immigration officers involved in the operation from using tear gas or pepper spray on those who don’t pose a threat.

The judge, Sara Ellis, singled out Gregory Bovino, a senior U.S. Border Patrol commander overseeing the operation, as she gave her decision, saying that Bovino “admitted that he lied” about getting struck in the head by a rock before deploying tear gas.

Yes, I read that vignette of terror tactics from ICE. There is something wrong with our legal system if the City of Chicago can't bring criminal charges against ICE.

Fortunately, the statute of limitations will not have run out by 2029 when the next DOJ can and should bring charges against individual agents and their supervisors.

I think if you are in the country illegally you need to be deported.

There is really no reason for anyone to be here illegally.

The state department has a program where you can self deport.  The US Government will pay for your flight back to your country of origin and give you $1,000.  You are then able to come back into the United States following the immigration laws.  I have no idea why anyone would not partake in this program.

      USCIS Supports “Project Homecoming” Self-Deportation

If you are here illegally and you want to go home, the Department of Homeland Security now offers use of the CBP Home Mobile App so that you can voluntarily self-deport. Through the CBP Home Mobile App, you receive a complimentary plane ticket home, receive a $1,000 exit bonus upon your return, and will have any unpaid fines for failing to timely depart forgiven.

The process is easy! Download the CBP Home Mobile App and fill out your personal information, including taking a picture, and hit submit to start the streamlined process. To learn more about this offer, visit dhs.gov/cbphome.

After you register, you will be contacted at the phone number you provided to book your one-way plane ticket. If DHS needs more information to complete processing and confirm your eligibility, you will receive an email with instructions on next steps. Someone will be available to help you at each stage of the process!

Unless you are the only person in the US who turns themselves in to law enforcement each time they run a red light or speed or jay walk, then statements like

"I think if you are in the country illegally you need to be deported.

There is really no reason for anyone to be here illegally."

are simply hypocritical and should be considered faux-outrage. It is also an attempt to bring America back to its ugly overtly racist past.

I assume you r4ealize that America was created and built on racism, the same kind racism that generates such faux-outrage. The Constitution literally had to count enslaved Black people as three-fifths of a person to keep slaveholders in the Union. Slavery itself was an open wound, a legal endorsement of white supremacy. And when Congress first wrote national citizenship rules in 1790, the Naturalization Act said only “free white persons” could become American. Our first immigration-related law was explicitly racist.

At the same time, for the “right” kind of people the borders were effectively open. If you were white and could get here, you mostly stayed. There were no numerical caps, no 20-year “line” to stand in. The gate was wide open for some, and welded shut for others.

As we grew as a country, we did start to become more decent and civilized people - on paper. The 13th Amendment abolished slavery. The 14th made anyone born here a citizen (currently under attack). The 15th promised Black men the vote (which White America promptly found away to take away from him). Later the 19th finally gave women the vote. You can watch the written Constitution inch away from its original racism.

But the culture didn’t magically follow. Beginning in the late 1800s, a fusion of white supremacy, nativism, and conservative Protestantism (MAGA today) pushes back hard. Reconstruction is rolled back. Jim Crow locks Black Americans out of real citizenship. At the same time, Congress starts writing immigration laws explicitly designed to keep the “Other” out of white America:

The Page Act and Chinese Exclusion Act target Chinese and other Asians.

Later quota laws in the 1920s ration immigration by “national origins,” favoring northern Europeans and slashing entries from southern/eastern Europe and almost everywhere else.

So the modern idea of people being “here illegally” doesn’t fall from the sky. It grows out of a system that was consciously redesigned to say: these kinds of people are welcome, those kinds are not.

Over time, though, a different moral story starts to emerge alongside the ugly one. In 1903, Emma Lazarus’s poem—“Give me your tired, your poor…”—is mounted on the Statue of Liberty. It’s not a founding document and it’s not law; it’s something more dangerous than that. It’s an aspiration. Through the 20th century it gets picked up by immigrant-aid groups, by refugee advocates, by presidents of both parties, and eventually by Congress, schoolbooks and naturalization ceremonies. It becomes the story America tells itself and the world about what we want to be: a refuge for the tired, the poor, the huddled masses, not just a fortress for the already-comfortable.

That’s why the current right-wing “if they’re here illegally, deport them, no questions asked” posture is not some timeless, neutral love of the rule of law. It’s a return to an older, explicitly racial vision of who counts as “really” American—very much like the retrenchment of the 1880s and 1920s. It ignores how our laws created “illegality” in the first place, and it shrugs off the aspirational ideal we’ve been teaching our own children for more than a century.

So when someone says, “If you’re here illegally, you need to be deported, there’s no reason to be here illegally,” the answer is:

The category of “illegal” immigrant was built on top of racism and fear of the Other, and for decades we’ve claimed a higher standard—embodied in that Statue of Liberty poem. You’re free to side with the older, exclusionary America if you want. Just don’t pretend that’s the only, or even the better, American tradition.

Ho hum, again, sorry, but if you're here by not following the laws of the United States, you are here illegally.  You are an illegal alien.  It has nothing to do with race but everything to do with following immigration law.

There is no reason for anyone to not come into the United States legally and follow our immigration law.  I've seen it.  Experienced it through relatives.  Legal immigrants are more than welcome and I encourage people to come here legally.  Respecting the law is the first step in building a good relationship with a new country.

The United States, as all countries around the world, have a right to control our border as well as determine who is and is not permitted to enter our country and stay here.

Every country has their own immigration laws.

Again you prove my point.  democrats care more about illegal aliens and criminals than legal immigrants and law-abiding American citizens.

It all comes down to following and respecting the law.

democrats may want to try such a thing some day.

Once again, until you start obeying ALL laws, you have no moral authority to make such pronouncements.

That statement is one for the books.  I have shared this with many people telling them this is today's democrat party when it comes to immigration.

              Unbelievable.

Using your criteria, I would imagine nobody would qualify for jury duty or even to be a trial judge.

              This is one to remember.

Another excellent statement for me to share with others.  Keep them coming.  We enjoy them.

You do represent today's democrat party.

ECO,    I’m going to be blunt here, because your entire comment is an emotional detour that never addresses the basic point.

I don’t need to turn myself in for speeding or jaywalking to believe laws should be enforced. That comparison is illogical. A traffic ticket is not the same thing as entering and remaining in a country in violation of federal law. One is a minor civil infraction; the other is a legal status that determines whether someone has the right to stay in the country at all. If you can’t distinguish those two, you’re arguing from emotion, not logic.

And pointing out that the U.S. has an ugly racial history has nothing to do with whether current immigration laws should be ignored. We can acknowledge historical wrongs and still say that a sovereign nation has the right, actually, the obligation, to determine who enters, who stays, and under what conditions. That is not racism. That is basic national governance.

Today’s immigration laws were written by Congress, elected by voters, upheld in courts, and enforced by agencies. When someone is here illegally, the law already provides the process: removal proceedings, asylum review when applicable, appeals when warranted, and deportation when those avenues are exhausted. That’s how the legal system works. Pretending that enforcing laws equals racism is just a way to avoid admitting you don’t like the law itself.

You also jump back and forth between moral aspiration and legal reality as if they’re interchangeable. Emma Lazarus’s poem is beautiful, but it is not the Constitution. It isn’t policy. It doesn’t override statutory law. It certainly doesn’t mean anyone who crosses the border should automatically be allowed to stay because they’re “tired” or “poor.” Aspirations don’t replace actual immigration codes.

And let’s be honest: deportation is not “white supremacy.” It is literally the standard procedure used in every country on earth, including the most diverse ones. Enforcing borders is not some special American sin. It’s normal.

So let me put this simply:

I believe that if someone is in the country illegally, they should be deported because that is what the law requires, not because of emotions, not because of history, and not because of race. The law exists. A process exists. And pretending that enforcing it is a moral failure is just a way to avoid dealing with the real issue: we either have a country that enforces its borders or we don’t.

You’re free to argue that the law should change. But accusing everyone who believes in enforcing existing law of racism is an emotional argument, not a logical one. And it doesn’t make your case; it just replaces reason with outrage.

Trump has found another PEACEFUL city to TERRORIZE.

"Federal immigration crackdown begins in Charlotte, North Carolina, spreading fear and prompting some businesses to shutter"

In interviews I have heard, the mayor may be ready to arrest federal agents who break the law.  More power to her.

      The LIE

"“Americans should be able to live without fear of violent criminal illegal aliens hurting them, their families, or their neighbors,” Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement. “We are surging DHS law enforcement to Charlotte to ensure Americans are safe and public safety threats are removed.”

What She Should Have Said: The TRUTH

"“Americans should be able to live without fear of violent criminal FEDERAL AGENTS hurting them, their families, or their neighbors,” Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement. “We are surging DHS law enforcement nevertheless to Charlotte to TERRORIZE Americans and make them unsafe and public safety threats are increased”"

Went to AI on this one.

As of November 2025, the Trump administration's current deportation numbers are lower than those of the Biden administration's final year in office. In fiscal year 2024, ICE deported approximately 271,000 unauthorized immigrants under Biden—the highest figure since 2014 and higher than any single year during the previous Trump administration. As of April 2025, the Trump administration reported roughly 140,000 people deported, although some estimates place the actual figure closer to half that number, and monthly averages remain below those seen in Biden's last year. Recent data confirm that monthly deportations in Trump’s second term have not exceeded the outstanding pace set by the Biden administration in 2024.

AI provides 10 different sources for this information.

Interesting.   If I were to venture a guess as to the reason?  Biden was deporting at the border rather than rooting through communities in a random fashion using an untrained militarized force.

      What AI says:

Most deportations in 2024 involved people apprehended by border officials rather than those arrested within U.S. communities, reflecting the majority of removals being migrants who had just arrived rather than long-term residents.

ICE improved the efficiency of the deportation process by streamlining removal logistics and securing diplomatic agreements for countries to accept more deportees, including nations that had previously refused. In addition, the Biden administration implemented stricter asylum eligibility rules and expanded expedited removal proceedings, making it more difficult for migrants to remain in the U.S. after arriving without lawful status. These factors led to the substantial surge in deportations during fiscal year 2024.

You're absolutely right.  Biden deported a great many that were caught as they crossed the border.  Of course, he also brought a great many illegal border crossers into the interior and set them in plush hotels at our expense.

What he did NOT do, and Trump IS doing, is deporting from the interior.  Now that the crossings have decreased to near zero there aren't many caught there to be deported.

Had Biden (or Obama) done their job Trump would not have the tens of millions of illegal aliens within our borders to deal with.  But they did not, we finally have a President that takes his oath seriously, and the result is what we see now; great rivers of tears from both the illegal aliens inhabiting our shores and those that are using them for cheap (and illegal) labor.

You were doing great until you got to "he also brought " and then went off the rails with the myths.

As to your other myth - Saying “Biden doesn’t deport from the interior” is like saying “the IRS doesn’t audit rich people anymore” because they’re doing fewer audits than a prior year. The numbers and priorities changed, but the activity never stopped.

Biden and Obama did do their job, they just didn't break the law doing it like Trump is.

You know the other thing Biden or Obama, or any other president for that matter, is TERRORIZING the interior in chasing hard working, tax-paying immigrants like Trump is.

If Biden and Obama HAD done their job, both at the border and in the interior, we would not have Trump doing what he is now.  Blame them, then, for the terrorizing (your exaggerated term, not reality) going on.  Though I will grant you that illegal aliens are likely afraid - criminals usually are when being actively chased.

Give me a break. Your logic makes no sense. You don't think Trump wouldn't be doing this anyway? It makes his base very happy that he is terrorizing brown people.

He would have deported...who?  Had Obama and Biden done their job we wouldn't have 20 million illegal aliens roaming our streets, running from Trump and law enforcement.

Does it give you pleasure to insult people, insults without even a hint of truth in it?  Pretty disgusting, actually.
