Blessed day, any and all born-again Christians!

"For we being many are one bread, and one body;  for we are all partakers of that one bread."

    ALOHA!

No I'm not Hawaiian.  Just sayin' hello and goodbye, covering all the bases with one word!  LOL

    Well...

"In dreams", may He "seal our instruction."

"Though I seemeth to be talkin' only to meself,
    Yet will I speak
Judgement to thou who chooseth Wicked
    and Power to the weak."

Nah, that's not from the Bible.  I just love the olden way of language and mixed it with slang....

The book/chapter/verse of the previous post-----

Job 33: 12-30:  (God calls men to repent)---

12  Behold, in this thou art not just:
I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.

13  Why dost thou strive against him?
for he giveth not account of any of his matters.

    14  For God speaketh once,
yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.

15  In a dream, in a vision of the night,
when deep sleep falleth upon men,
    in slumberings upon the bed;

16  then he openeth the ears of men,
             and sealeth their instruction,

17  that he may withdraw man from his purpose,
             and hide pride from man.

18  He keepeth back his soul from the pit,
and his life from perishing by the sword.

19  He is chastened also with pain upon his bed,
and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:

20  so that his life abhorreth bread,
             and his soul dainty meat.

    21  His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen;
and his bones that were not seen stick out.

22  Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave,
and his life to the destroyers.

23 If there be a messenger with him,
an interpreter, one among a thousand,
    to show unto man his uprightness;

24  then he is gracious unto him, and saith,
Deliver him from going down to the pit:
    I have found a ransom.

25  His flesh shall be fresher than a child's:
he shall return to the days of his youth:

26  he shall pray unto God, and he will be favorable unto him:
and he shall see his face with joy:
for he will render unto man his righteousness.

27  He looketh upon men, and if any say,
I have sinned, and perverted that which was right,
    and it profited me not;

28  he will deliver his soul from going into the pit,
and his life shall see the light.

29  Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,

30  to bring back his soul from the pit,
to be enlightened with the light of the living.

"I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Even as Sodom and Gomorrha,  and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication,  and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example,  suffering the vengeance of eternal fire."

    Jude 5-7.

one of my many favorites: from Luke

"And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ[a] the Lord"

I worry about declaring Witch some years back, that Wicca garbage, I walked off from it, it was ridiculous, and since have never returned at all. Never looked back actually

I did find a Pastor that accepted my background, and made the move to accept Jesus as my Lord and savior, my doorway, I  baptized as a symbol of obedience,  Pastor Craig worked with me a lot we went through several sessions of prayer and asking, talking to god. He acted to baptise me  "In the Blood", because that is how God sees us. I feel right about all of that

but I do wonder at times. Its in my mind sometimes. Did it matter, did I kill my whiteness.  Am I in vein.

He is just, but not necessarily with us in all of our decisions, and thus I wonder.

                it comes from that background.
not doubt of God, but myself- what I did.

I don't understand what you mean by did it kill your "whiteness"...
Are you talking about the aspect of good within you?

If you've truly given your heart to Christ, you will know or come to know that it isn't in vain at all!

I also know someone who has a background in witchcraft and who leans sometimes toward other pagan beliefs.....but the man has said that he's since become born-again, so I will not deny his statement;  however, sometimes I do question it, because he's not very fervent about his Faith.....and his temptations do seem to be in those areas of witchcraft and other manipulations.

I will say that sometimes the road to salvation is a progressive one.   I just wish people wouldn't take the chances they do sometimes, because one never knows when our time is up on this earth, and it's best to use that time to grow closer to the Lord and show others the way....

I chose to be Baptised in the Blood, and seek, and I do not go back and or waver. I have never looked back actualy.

I walked off a mid-night field and away from an altar in  mid celibration on a High Sabat, and left for good. I was scared, but I did it. I refused to go any further in it. The good is still there, I refuse to loose that, give that up...no way.

I sometimes worry about my past actions though, you cannot help it once you really take up the Study of the History and follow God. You start to realise how real and correct he really is, and how powerfull he truly is. you Start to really see Him as he is.

its just un-surity about my past actions, seperating from him..

For what I know now as truth, nothing at all changed what so ever, and thats is so calming to know, I just wish I had been smarter, earlier in life.

not at all. you did not kill anything. This is the love of God to be on standby until you returned and now all is as before, your sins are gone and you run the race to obtain the crown.
                  Glorious!

    Romans 8: 35-39:

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?  shall tribulation,  or distress,  or persecution,  or famine,  or nakedness,  or peril,  or sword?

As it is written,  'For Thy sake we are killed all the day long;  we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter,'

Nay,  in all these things we are more than conquerers through him that loved us.

For I am persuaded,  that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God,  which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

My favorite verse is GENESIS:1:1 "IN THE BEGINNING GOD CREATED" not the earth evolved from but "GOD CREATED" God already was, and Jesus already was and "GOD CREATED" DURING CREATION IT IS ALWAYS "US" GOD DOING THE CREATING, US OUR FATHER, US CHRIST JESUS, US HOLY SPIRIT TOO FOR WE ARE TOLD THAT THE SPIRIT OF GOD MOVED UPON THE FACE OF THE EARTH.

    Who Are You Looking For?

Did you come here to look for Jesus?
The little baby in the manger's shield
Did you follow the bright Star here
to see what it would yield?

Do you want to meet the Savior?
The one so powerful from birth
Or would you steal Him from his cradle
and sell Him for Herod's worth?

He's no longer small and helpless
    needing protection from evil's face
    He became mankind's Salvation
Yes the whole of the human race.

Did you come here to find the baby?
Or the child grown into a man?
He's not here except in Spirit
He's at the Father's right hand.

    Crucified but RISEN,
and He sees where you are now.
I hope you come to find the Savior?
And at His feet to bow.

    Thanks Daniel;  I appreciate it.

I've gotten a couple of similar ones in my e-mails before;  one of them supposedly originated from HubPages.  It was also somebody claiming to be a woman looking for "companionship" or some such nonsense.
Could be a Hubber around here who doesn't like me, or Christian stuff, or just a random trick.  Whatever.  I thought I'd give 'em a reply to chew on since they were bold enough to spam.

Manners are not the issue - I am entitled to express an opinion - and my opinion relates to the posts in this thread - which I expressed in the humourous way it deserves.  It is your choice to respond, it wasn't necessary as no question was asked.

And yes I teach at University where the students are bright intelligent and studious, quite unlike most standard US University where the focus is on drinking and sex.

And yes I include discussion about christianity in my lessons where appropriate, along with Buddhism etc - and yes the students are bright enough to recognise that the local bible pushers are less than average intelligence - so all is right with the world.

So....from your last comment about "Bible pushers", I suppose one can deduce that you're teaching Chinese students that Christians aren't as intelligent as they and you are.
        What a crock!

In another thread I also told how there are christian churches in pretty much every substantial city with fairly normal christians in them who are every bit as intelligent as I am. Not saying I am intelligent, it just means that they are as intelligent or more intelligent. Just the bible pushers that are dim.

I hope you will agree with me in prayer for God to continue to draw all those who are lost toward Him.   I know the Word says His mercy endures forever, but the Word also says His Spirit will not always strive with mankind.  It is His will (and my prayer) that NO ONE personally gets caught in between those two Truths.  Not a good place to be.  Yet the Bible speaks of that happening.  Some will not listen nor look at what He's done for them....

I've just about given up watching tv preachin', seems like they all end up veering off into some other tangent.  But I happened to be flipping channels the other day and Dwight Thompson was on.  He preached (God forbid! wink) on hellfire!  And stuck to Scripture quite well.  It was an awesome (and rather rare from what I've seen these days) message that illustrated the seriousness of what Christians are called to do,  and ended of course with telling the ONE WAY to avoid hell, that it's Jesus who paid the price for us.
Thank God. In this day of political correctness when the Word of God is under fire from all corners, the man had the guts to preach from the core of Scripture.  Amen to it.

Hi Brenda, Very interesting, Thank you for sharing this. The true preaching of the Gospel of Christ is not complete without speaking on hellfire. Your message is  right on time. I have recently stated in the forum on what the bible says about avoiding hell. I have been accused of being judgemental and threathening unbelievers simply for stating the truth. I have to be obedient to the holy spirit. I will not hold back on what God has for me to say at the given time. It's like saying: "Don't speak the word of God, it may insult someone." Jesus is compassionate, and I am demonstating his love by sharing what the word of God speak of. God bless you Sister. smile

You are mistaken yet again - nobody accused you of threatening anybody - the argument is that the concept of hell is a threat.  If you don't understand stuff don't respond to it or you just make yourself look foolish mostly.  To explain this to you -  the idea of hell in theological (religious) terms is the same as prison for political terms, you do somethign bad so you get locked up, over in the religious world you think that you do something bad you go to hell. It is the SAME idea. And heaven is the same, if you do something good your Mama gave you candy, if you did bad - your Mama with-held it.

So on any level heaven and hell is a 'reward and threat' concept.

If you still don't get it I can try to explain another way for you.

    Broken

My heart is broken. . . I don't know why
Tears keep falling. . . from my eyes
Too much hurt and too much pain
Too much conviction, guilt and shame

    I see a man . . . arms stretched wide
He gives up the ghost. . . does he have to die?
To pay for my sins. . . redeem me from hell
Is it all worth it. . . only time will tell

As I walk I fall. . . I get up to walk again
The Lord is with me. . . He is my helmsman
To guide and direct me to where I need to go
To keep from harm from my enemy and my foe

True life begins. . . when repentance comes
Now I am alive. . .  singing the Lord's anthems
I run with patience the course set before me
To help those in need. . . I can't just let them be.

Eze 3:17  Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

My day was blessed, thank you for asking.
And by that I mean that I'm alive and kickin' and God's in His Heaven, though not all is well with the world!
Life isn't fun sometimes, and sometimes it seems hellish.  Yet it isn't hell, though I've heard some people say they believe hell is in this life.   The Truth is that the Spirit is right here with us, in the hearts of those who believe in Christ;  so we have a little "slice of Heaven" so-to-speak already, so we must be grateful.  But it's nothing compared to what awaits us in the real Heaven!  Praise God!   And any of my complaints or problems can be dealt with with the help of God.  Look what Jesus went through!====He lived a short life on earth and was killed after suffering horribly.  Yet He knew His mission and didn't veer from it.  He came to offer Salvation to anyone who wants it.  Difficulties in this life are nothing compared to actual hell that awaits us if we deny Christ.  And that's the Christian's goal and responsibility---to point people to the Way to Life, eternal life.   This life is not eternal.   So, I guess, when I'm having a bad day, I just remember that.

Well, that was a long answer, but it seems so trivial sometimes to answer people with just "I'm okay".......
While we have the ability to think, we think on Him, right?  While we have breath and life in us, we preach and teach about Him, right?
I'm confident you're having a Blessed day as well, Woman of Courage!

Hi Brenda, I understand where you coming from smile Sometimes we may not be happy with things that are going on in our lives, but the Joy of the Lord is our strength. big_smile I can't help but think about what Jesus went through. His suffering was far more greater than ours. I thank God for the holy spirit which dwells inside of me. I agree with you about the Christian responsibility. Sharing the gospel is not complete if we don't point people to the way of eternal life. I love your long answer. Yes, we think on him, and I agree that we teach and preach on him also. Good your day was blessed. I am having a blessed day. There are so many things to be grateful for. God bless you my Sister!
