Are the majority of online writers obsessed with religion? Or is it just those that write in hub pages forums that have nothing else to talk about?

You mean to say that sometimes they have the time to write about other things as well as posting in online religious forums? smile

You have me there! There seem to be a high ratio of comments versus hubs posted.

Maybe all the major religions hire their own trolls to patrol the net?

he First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution is part of the Bill of Rights. The amendment prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion, impeding the free exercise of religion, abridging the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press, interfering with the right to peaceably assemble or prohibiting the petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances.

      thanks for sharing.

        Oh dear, here we go...

In response to that is moderating your hub comments contrary to that statement as it restricts free speech!

So long as they are in the right subforum, it matters not.

This thread, being 2 years old, is not.

At one time, it was possible to view the forums you were interested in, without seeing the political and religious threads. That can't be done now, so I simply don't go near the Topic forums.

There's a large contingent of people who joined HubPages purely to troll the political and religious forums, or to proselytize.  They are not writers at all.

You will find political and religious debates at the top all. Online and offline.

I suppose that is because most people reach their life-changing epiphanies on an online forums about something random.

I suppose it beats having them turn up on your doorstep to tell you the good news.  Also, nothing seems to produce a good row as quickly as a religious posting, which I am, told can be fun.  Personally, I have never found the words 'fun', 'religion' and 'theology' really go together.

I like your heading.  It'd be GREAT to have a religious free forum as I do not want to troll through it.  But.....then.... there'd be a call for a politically free forum..... now that's yet another great idea.  smile

There is about a core of 20 odd folk who are frequent in posting/replying in the religious forums on HubPages.

With a few thousand authors on the site....not that many really.

      There's way more than 20!

      20 'Odd' ones huh? sad

Well Oddly, after December this year....

The Religious and Santa Forums may no longer exist!

And if so... that will make way for more friendly subjects like Sports - Business - Social and of course, for the Extrovert people... Humor Forums!  smile

But hey... apparently.. it's all in the laps of the gods...
But believe me... it ain't too hard to visualize what the outcome of laps, gods and appropriate dance music could look like from the peanut seats! big_smile

I would love to see the bickering about religion and politics evaporate into thin air. However, I think even if those forums were removed by HP, the people who are bound and determined to argue with each other on these subjects would find a way to turn sports or humor threads into debates on religion or politics.

So Pearldiver, what do you know about the religion forums going away after December??? Spill it!

          @SmartAndFun...

I was merely playing the Fun role in the hope that you are better suited to the Smart role.. smile

          Does 12/21/2012 ring a bell?

If so, there is a Farewell Party at Randy's place..
and if you win the lucky dip draw on the day, you get to share a private taxi with us! smile

lol Well my screen name is what I aspire to be, not necessarily what I am!! lol

It pays to stay out of the religion forums, as ignorance truly is bliss. I am only vaguely aware of 12/21/12. I had to google it, actually, to be refresh my memory.

While I don't give a rat's behind about 12/21/12, a private taxi ride with you and Randy sounds quite enticing. Please put my name in the hat! I will wear my sparkliest party frock and my darkest shades.

            Sincerely,
            DumbAndHappilyIgnorant

Well... apparently in certain religious circles.. Rat's bottoms are far more important than many of us actually know or give a toss about! smile

I'll be sure to advise Randy to include you in the Red Carpet lineup then...

Oh by the way, all we aspiring smarties will be wearing the most up-to-the-moment designer aluminum hats! big_smile

There's PLENTY of religion free forums.  However, the religious forums are here to........STAY! Can't get rid of the religious forums for there are religious hubbers who have a right to express and post their views although we may not agree with their particular premise.

Back then, there was no division between HubPages forums and topical forums. I used a browser plugin to block out forums I found offensive--religious.
