I live on the convergence of the Suwannee, Itchetucknee, and Santafe rivers in FL. I am less than minute walking time out my door from the Santafe, two minutes driving up the road from the Itchetucknee.... and about 4 mins from the Suwanee.

And it is quite peaceful, and very beautiful to the eyes.

Of course it is also boring as all hell and miles from anywhere or anyone... but it is great in its own way.

I live in Johnson City, Tennessee.  During the time of Prohibition, it was known as "Little Chicago" because Al Capone used the town as a hideout.  Johnson City was a big railroad depot back in the 1920's, so it was a logical place for him to have a base.  There are lots of buildings here that are linked with Capone and his men.

I live in California, but I'm originally from Maryland--Mason-Dixon line. Very best blue crabs in the world, my mother is the best steamer that I know.  And in other news, there is an animal called "nutria" near the Eastern Shore of MD, and it's also found down south.  It's essentially a large rodent, and it was (and is) consumed (yes, eaten), by residents partially due to its rapid over population.

    Well, I live here:

    Cologne.

During WWII, Cologne was bombed to the ground, so all the old buildings you see in this photograph were re-built and are, in fact, new. Except one; Der Kölner Dom (Cologne Cathedral - the large building with the twin steeples). In remained more or less in tact, but this was no act of God. Its steeples were useful as a land mark for the allies during air-raids.

I wouldn't really call Donny all that 'small', it is large for a market town, it would be very small for a city.

If you go 60 miles south you will be in Erie Pa.Living in a little town that's no where, I can get some where in about  1 1/2 half. That's where I like living.

Not a nice thing to say ...

If somebody lives on an island, it doesn't mean they're a social reject, even if it could be true that a social reject would feel comfortable living on a lonely island ...

Paul McCartney enjoys living on Mull of Kintyre - does that make him a social reject?

Where I live in the valley of Sonoma, California - (Bennett Valley) the air is always fresh, the fog rolls in and rolls out in summer keeping us cool and refreshed - the grapes are ripening on the vines and in the distance Mt. St. Helena presides.  In winter it rains, sometimes alot, but only gets cold (30degrees or so) for a short time.  Its a great place to grow flowers and grapes.  It is maybe too idyllic, I get used to it and take it for granted.  But really our weather here is pretty perfect and I'm fortunate to be here because I could never afford to live in a place like this if I didn't work for someone whose grandparents bought into it long ago.

We were rated #2 at one point on the list of our nations cities with the worst air qualities... Nothing too great other than being mentioned by Tom Hanks as he read our city aloud as it was labeled on a porta potty in a movie LOL! Last time it snowed here was in 1999. Summers are hot, even by 8pm it's only cooled down to 85 degrees....and I'll gladly take the heat over living in the cold and snow anyday! smile
