If you are still interested in places to visit, Dominica in the West Indies is absolutely stunning. Hot sulphur springs, views of the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean, great local cuisine & beautiful rainforests with great hiking trails throughout the island...
I have just published a Hub on Dominica..It would be great if you could stop by and let me know what you think...its gorgeous!!! (the article is written from an insiders perspective as I live here with my husband).
Let's see:

Italy is where its at. I want to go back so bad. I have been to Rome and Florence, but I still want to go to Venice.
oh yes....Venice is breathtaking, but I think I fell in love with Rome.... never known a place more rich in such architectural beauty....
lol @ Origin, oh c'mon.... it's never too late to start! Get off the net and get going now! On second thoughts, forget it.... nothing beats the joy of whiling away your life on here!
Rome was gorgeous, full of history and the Vatican blew my mind. I also really liked Florence, I liked the more laid back feel, but Rome still takes the cheese.
Just got back from Rome in May. One week wasn't enough. I fell in love with Italy. I was really upset that I missed Pompeii and REALLY wanted to see Florence. I'll be back!
And I do plan on making a Hubpage about it soon!
Technically, I've visited dozens of countries.. if I count using the internet!!
okay at the risk of sounding like a nudge I was wondering why I am seeing so many great places listed here that I do not see on the Hubtrail Map?
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8& … 9&z=17
* gulp
but ohma....traveling is sooo much more fun than making a hub about it!
@ tony, stop it! You aren't!
But for those of us that can not travel seeing the world through your eyes is fantastic!
I tried...by adding the proper tags and including the rss feed. But my hubs never made it to the actually hubtrails site. *tear
I guess I am the shut in. I have only been to , Spain , Italy, and Jamaica. I don.t count Mexico , I can go there daily. Although back in the day there were many good times at Papas and Beer and Hussongs. Now I am old , sigh.

are you traveling or living/working in vietnam?
And which out of Scotland, Wales and England was your favourite?
Sorry I missed this question posed to me 3 months ago, Ryan! I know you're out now with your surgery so you may not see my reply for 3 months! LOL
In all fairness, my English husband primarily took me around England. I saw only small parts of Wales and a tiny bit of Scotland. I really haven't seen enough of them to tell you which I'd like better, but based on my two visits, I can tell you that all of the UK is beautiful and I felt right at home there. My in-laws still live there and I would love to come back for a visit.
Canada... Western Canada... Eastern Canada.
Like Derek D, I don't get out much lol
I've been to the US and Mexico on a family holiday...and on more family holidays and trips to Western Canada... Eastern Canada... back to Western Canada...oops, that wasn't actually EAST-Eastern Canada... just "out East" as they say (from the Prairies). I suppose Ontario's actually CENTRAL Canada?
Man, I gotta get on a plane soon or something, eh?
all over Canada - have to see where I live (north, south, east and west)
all over US - just have 3 more states to travel around
France - several places (love the art & culture - need to go back and see the art again)
Mexico - only 2 spots (and not the usual tourist destinations)
Netherlands - several places (loved seeing the works of the dutch masters - need to go back and see the art again)
and am trying to figure out how I can afford to travel through a few other countries but by motorcycle and with the right travelling companions.

I have thought about going to Denmark, as you can get there really easily and quite cheaply on a ferry from close to where I live. Is there much to do for children, ages 10 and 2? (especially the ten year old as he will moan otherwise!)

Out of curiosity How many of you have actually traveled around your own home bred and born country.
I have traveled right around Australia and Tasmania and Bali
and that is all I have done. But I have learned so much about my country by traveling it.
So many people visit other countries and have never traveled 100 k's down the road in there own home town.
Just thought I would ask out of curiosity
Hello EH
I've not ignored my own country in the pursuit of overseas travels. I've been to most places in New Zealand - cities, towns, small country areas, beaches, mountains, fjords and forests. It's a fascinating country and I'm a proud kiwi.
But....I still like to travel.
Your country is fascinating too and I have visited several places there. When I lived in Australia I also did a course in Aborigine studies which afforded a great insight into Australian history.
It's fun trying to remember. I was lucky enough to work in BBC Outside Broadcasts for a few years when still in Scotland, so we travelled all over the country, including some of the Western Isles: Skye, Mull, Islay, Jura, Arran, Colonsay, Oronsay. Some very beautiful places (and some very fine whiskies too)
I've only traveled to one country and that is the U. S. Traveling to other countries is kind of expensive what with our exchange rate and all.
But I've traveled here in my country especially in Luzon (our northern island) and Mindanao - our southern island and where I am right now. I've been to a lot of places here that some people are afraid to go to because of what they read in the newspapers.
I love traveling, I went to Malta, England, Germany, Brussels, Netherlands, Spain, France, Australia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, HongKong, Japan and most of all the place where I was born Philippines
Starting in Wales I have been to England, very briefly in Ireland, and also spent time in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and three of the Spanish Canary Islands.
I've been meaning to try to remember for a long time. I've probably missed a few, but so far:
Scotland, England, N. Ireland, Eire, Wales, France, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Austria, Croatia, Turkey, Greece, Albania, Andorra, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, USA, Canada, India, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Sudan, South Africa, Malaysia, UAE (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujeira, Al Ain)
Some day I'd like to see New York. All my US trips have been to the west, Oregon, California, Nevada.
That's an impressive list Paraglider! If you're anything like me, you may have missed a few more too!
I love reading all the comments. There are a lot of well travelled people out there. Most of my time I was raising my five kids and travelled a lot for their local activities. Leaving a big gap of my life too busy to travel alone. I,ve never been "across" the blue, but travelled my country, South Africa, quite a lot. Then I've been living for a long time in Mozambique. I,ve been to Zwaziland and Transkai. Have been in Botswana for a short visit in-and-out, but not travelled it. Never been to Zimbabwe, will go one day. Every year we go to Namibia in the hunting season. Nice place to visit, a lot to explore and see and beautiful people.

Scotland
Wales (going back there in 2 weeks)
France
Spain
Italy (and Vatican City)

Selrach you must be quite a big fan of football. You have been in a lot of places, just for that. Just wondering if you have joined us here in SA for the world Fifa cup. If so, I give you a sunny welcome. if not, it's never too late. The kids just say, if you come, remember your earplugs, when you've had enough of the noise of the Vuvuzela's. We are having a great time here.
I've been to:
India
Canada
Malaysia
and if you count airports:
Taiwan
England
I have also been to several US States (either lived there or visited):
Maine
Vermont
New Hampshire
Massachusetts
Maryland
West Virginia
Pennsylvania
New York
Ohio
Indiana
Michigan
Kentucky
Missouri
Illinois
Minnesota (airport)
California
Nickg480- great question. I think we should also start the list by identifying where we are from. So, I'm from the U.S. and my list includes several states here in the U.S., which I am not listing, (since they ARE states, LOL and not countries). My favorite thus far is Italy-I agree, great place & want to return someday.
1. Canada
2. Mexico
3. Jamaica
4. England
5. France
6. Switzerland
7. Monte Carlo
8. Italy
Meager compared to some, but treasured each country and the experiences they brought.
I'm from South Africa
been to
Israel
United Kingdom
Scotland
Ireland
Brazil

Switzerland
Swaziland
Lesotho
Namibia
in 2 months will be

can't wait!
Have fun on your next trip LW! Sounds excellent!
Texas. Cancun, Canada and I'm like tony, old. too old to travel anymore, and too scared
Awwww, don't be scared ralwus! Go with a group, or go for a small trip, JUST GO! Don't let that age thing get you down. There are ways...
My students often ask me where I have been in the world. Chinese students have limited travel experiences, so when I tell them I have been to New Zealand, Fiji, Noumea, Los Angeles (USA), London, Dublin, Singapore, Malaysia and I've lived in China for nearly two years, and South Korea for three months, they are in awe.
Well, I might as well list them here, roughly in the order I have been there
Yugoslavia (Birthplace)
U.S.S.R
Kenya
Holland
Italy
Zambia
Zimbabwe
Botswana
South Africa
Malta
France
Monaco
Commores
Gabon
Mozambique
Serbia
Sweden
Montenegro
Germany
Far too few mentions of South Africa in these lists! I live here and am passionate about the place - the people, the natural beauty, the history, the culture, just about everything! Born and bred here and have travelled it quite extensively, from north to south, from east to west, though there are still places I want to get to. And many I want to get back to!
In addition I have been to:
Zimbabwe,
Swaziland,
Botswana,
Lesotho,
Germany,
Sweden,
England,
Holland,
France,
Portugal,
Spain,
Italy,
Canada.
I still want to get to:
Brazil,
Greece,
Japan,
Austria,
Scotland
Ireland
(not necessarily in that order!).
SA is there on my tick-box, though it was only Jo'burg, with no time to travel beyond. Sandton & the Lion Park, and the CodFather Restaurants..
Tonight I noticed Linda. He contrived
to feign amusement when an overfed
disaster made a joke about his name,
impressing no-one. Lindewe, in spite
of all her training, aimed a quiet glare
less at the humorist from outer space
than at her husband's laugh of servitude.
Later, I crouched in shadows hoping for
a glimpse of the cicada whose top "C"
(fortissimo) had mesmerised my path
from restaurant to suite. An hour is long
to wait upon an insect, yet the time
seemed better spent upon this creeping thing
than squandered among slugs from Saville Row.
