      Yes, I do still buy CDs. I just bought the new Megadeth CD about a month ago. I refuse to go digital. Nope. Nope nope nope. Ain't gonna happen. (crosses arms, stands firm)

      Only when I can't find the music I want to buy through Amazon or iTunes. Or when the album comes from my favorite artist, Thomas Dolby.

   I haven't bought a CD in ages, I just purchase my music online now. Having a CD is nice in one sense, but it's wasteful and is becoming unnecessary. Books look to be heading the same way, with  Kindle and Ipad on the market.

   Of course. I bought 2 CDs at a folk festival two weeks ago.
   
   It's far easier to find a CD and play it than to mess around with randomly named files.
   
   Somebody thought they were doing me a favour and made mp3 files from my CDs once. I was never been able to get a symphony to play with the movements in the right order using these, even after trying to rename the files to consecutive numbers. I gave up trying to use them about two years ago.
   
   And I refuse to use anything which has an i in front of the name, because I hate Macintosh, so itunes, ipods etc are anathema to me.

   I don't buy any music cds or movie dvds anymore, just blanks of both. I haven't for years. I use a program to download music and movies, then burn them myself.

   I stop buying them a couple years ago since the inception of iTunes from Apple. It is much more convenient to download the music now and when I use to buy CDs I would always transfer them to my iPod for my listening pleasure.

      That's the same for me. I see no reason to buy cd's now.  I like the convenience of digital music, and lack of clutter. My IPod touch goes wherever I go, it does everything but make a phone call and I love it.

    Yes I still buy Cds the last one I bought a few months ago it was more of a inspirational or calming CD I usually by them for my CD player in the car. I listening to them when I am driving  and sometimes around the holidays if I see  a new one that is out.

    No. I have an iPod. I back up my songs from iTunes on blank CDs but beyond that I don't. Now there are still exceptions of artists who are still iTunes holdouts for one reason or another so I will buy a CD but it hasn't happened in a few years.

    I buy cds because I am technologicly challanged, just this year I learned how to send an email. Go me right? What I don't do anymore is listen to the crap on the radio. I listen to Pandora and have discovered that I love folk music! Who knew?

    (raises hand sheepishly) I still buy CD's.
    Heck I still have cassette tapes.
    (You know you're old when you're mentoring a 13 year old and stare at you blankly when you mention a cassette tape.)
    23 years old and counting...better start making my will...

    Yeah I am a fan of the CD nature that and records.  I will admit that my band uses the gimmick of selling cassette tapes as well you know for those poor kids that still don't have a CD player in their car ha.

    I bought a CD for a friend for Christmas because she is older and doesn't have an iphone, ipod, mp3, etc. She's happy with her situation, she likes to read the lyrics and stuff on the jacket. To each his/her own!

    I haven't bought an actual CD in over 3 years. With today's internet radio as well as youtube and traditional radio, I haven't felt the need to actually buy any music for a long time now.

    Yes, I absolutely still buy CDs, in the same way that I buy books (hardcovers with dust jackets, preferably the first editions), rather than just the content in Kindle. I prefer the whole of the artist's work, it's full arc, rather than pieces of his/her vision.

    Last couple of times I bought CDs they were punk rock collection simply because they were so cheap. About $3 on average for about 50 songs seems like a reasonable price. But that has been at least five years since those occurences. Really no need to buy CDs any more.

    Yes, I do. In fact I collect them. I have quite a collection of CDs, pretty much an entire bookcase. I mostly buy Asian CDs, especially those that are really rare and I would never find elsewise. When it comes to American artists/bands I mostly only buy my most favorites.
    
    And I rarely buy brand new CDs - pretty much only my faves I want for my collection right away. Otherwise I buy them used. Used CD shops are the best, I buy most of my collection for about 2-5 dollars a piece.
