This one was more for holiday fun, I had created the poems for family cards and fun, then I got carried away and realized I had added so much that the title didn't really reflect everything that was in the hub.  Hope you enjoy it at least.

Actually, the rules say one "image." I think I'm cool. Would hate to gum up the story. Hopefully get an answer for sure though.

Here is the question I asked on the blog back in October about photos and images.

      The answer is below.

I realize she mentioned photo galleries which is why I said I was not sure about the image.  I do know that I have been using photos myself but at least one daily winner used a digital graphic.

      LOL anyway, good luck.

This story is quite different from anything I've done before; Snatched at birth and raised amid freezing temperatures, Yach has never felt warmth, and save for the images in his mind, has never seen colour... or anything else for that matter.  It's called: Colour of Bleak.  I hope you enjoy and thank you for reading.

Can someone help me out by taking a look at these poems?
They were entered in the contest,...but they're kind of weird?  I know it's poetry, but my real question is, can anyone decipher its meaning or any meaning or is it too ambiguous.
It makes perfect sense to me, but that probably happens to everybody speaking in riddles.

    Fresh poetry and some insight.

Thanks, Barry.  I will try it again - but, every time I have tried it so far, it takes me to the comment box that is for the other contest thread. A big comment box comes up and to the left of that box is a smaller grayed-out box that says "if a post links to your hubs your account may be closed."

I have tried everything I can think of to start a NEW post in this thread and it is not working.

Hi Phyliss that is there for stopping people promoting their hubs and spamming in the main forums, we have the staff's permission to post links here (like in the hub make over forum). Just go for it - as described by Barry - preview it and post it it will be OK. smile

Thank you, 2uesday. Yet when I tried that before, I got a reply that  said "Wrong Thread, we cannot post links here, go the the Post & Discuss thread."

It's ok, we only have about nine days left. I will think of something.

Are you posting in Threaded or Chronological order?  When you say you are so far to the right, it sounds like you're posting in Threaded order. Have you tried clicking on Chronological at the top right of the forum? The mode button you are using is highlighted with a blue background.

If so, I don't know, try emailing staff or posting your problem in the Report a Problem forum.

I hope everything is in accordance to the rules.  I can handle losing out to a better writer, but to be disqualified on a technicality would be a real drag.

Okay, I decided after the huge response of my last Sunday's popular zany entry: "Would you relive the last hour exactly the same, or change it?" That I would take a break from vexing waxing literal as I've tried to do for the rest of the week, that I'd enter another comedy... perhaps even make it a habit to write something nonsensical, call it Sunday Satire, maybe.

This guy wonders if his son is actually his because he looks to be a different race, and takes great measures to find out.  Be warned, it is completely and utterly ridiculous

There are many excellent entries, so it is hard to judge. After reading many entries, I will add a bit of advice. This is what we're judging on:
The quality of writing or photos
The originality of writing or photos
The emotional/aesthetic impact of writing or photos
        Good, attractive formatting

I can't emphasize enough the last point. Just like any hub, we want the reader to be immediately impressed with the title and the overall layout of the hub.
Is it easy or cumbersome to read?
Do the opening lines catch the readers attention and make them want to keep reading?
Would someone coming in from a search on my poem title want to keep reading?

When I first click on a hub, I look at the overall format before reading.
It doesn't have to be fancy, but is it attractive.
Are there breaks for ease of reading?
Just a few things I have noted that I felt I could share with you.
Poetry does get searched, so don't forget keywords in your title.
Best to each of you. smile
