I once had a rottweiler-dalmation mix (much prettier than it sounds, btw) whose name was Pumpernickel. Somehow, it just fit her...
My all time favorite pet name, though, has got to be Princess Enid Evelyn Penelope. She was my aunt's cat; we called her P.E.E.P. for short.
Wow, some fantastic names...One of my favorites was the name of a Pug I met in a park -- Dumpling. Dumpling the Pug; that one cracked me up.
hahaha, Dumpling sounds perfect for a little dog like a pug! Welcome to HP
My boys are D-fa and Ozzy,my girls called Kaedi and my iguanas name is Chopper
I have a 13 years old dog German Shorthair Pointer and my mom named him DIC without the forth letter. I had a Rottweiler named Rocky and a few more named Lolla, Azorel, Shumi etc.
my friend's dog - Griz - he was a beautiful smart big dog...
I have a red doberman named Moose...he actually looked like a Moose when he was younger...LOL..

I HAVE A DOG NAMED BULLET HE SMALL DACHSHUND. WAS A GIFT FROM A FRIEND AND LOVE HIM HES ADORABLE.
My Jack Russell dog is called Zoidberg and his mate is called Leela after 2 characters on the cartoon Futurarma. Zoidberg was thus called because he went crazy every time the character zoidberg made a whooping noise on the telly.
My dog is Chasey Lane... I think its a great name, she is 10 years old, and I can't fathom the day she is no longer with me.
a friend of mine named his dog "pusa" (which means cat in english)
A dog named Dog.
Never knew why the owner named him that. He was usually short on words. I'm sure that's the reason why.
A friend says he wants to name his dog Phydeaux. LOL But it's only cute if you just write it and never say it out loud.
We had a dog named Tiny, because she's so small. And we named her 2 cute puppies Tyno and Tyna. So sad we don't have them anymore.
A few years ago, when my son was still in high school the family of a friend of his got a new malti-poo puppy. His friend chose the name Mofo for the new pup and his mum thought it was a cute name that really suited. That is until his friends came over to meet Mofo and their snorting and snickering alerted the mother to something being up with the name other than just cute. The pups name was quickly changed.
I had a puppy we got from the animal shelter, she was a rat terrier, and her markings on her back looked like a ghost face, with big black spots on her shoulder blades and a big black spot right in the middle of her back. In low light it did look kinda creepy ghost like so we started to call her Casper but since she was a female we settled on Cassie. Which she reponded to right away. Like it was her name all along.
I knew a chef whose nickname was "Wishbone" he had an English setter named "Sparerib"
I have three little angels, molly mcdolly, zuzu's petals, and jake sulley. Can anyone guess where zuzu's name comes from????
Rosey Basset! That's the name of my sweet little baby. She's a Pitbull/Staffordshire. Rosey is the name that shows how sweet she is. Basset(African for DEVOUR)is the name that shows how dangerous she could be, if I had choosen to train her that way.

if you call your dog, stay..... it will be confused every day of it's life.... I quite like confused dogs.
Slade...it was the name of my beloved boston terrier R.I.P.
Jack. Not too original, I admit, but so fitting...for a Jack Russell terrier...
We have a scottish terrier that was already named Scottie when we got him. If I were to give him a new name it would probably be Scooter because he spins on his back legs and kind of scoots about. Scotty dogs are cute to watch running around in a unique fashion
Nero is a good name for a big, male, black dog. That's why I decided to call my little, female, black cat Nero
Mac, because the small dog was one of those who's body was bigger in the front than the back. He leaned forward when he stood, and his face looked like it had been hit by a mac truck:)
Our friends named their dog (Labrador x Short haired German Shepherd) Columbus as he was a great one for exploring when he was a puppy. Sadly he is no longer with us. They went on to give their next two dogs normal names of Poppy and Rosie, they were sisters.
Have recently come across a guide dog puppy in training called Polo. He as very large, as in tall and lanky Golden Retriever.
hubbers
My daughter's English bulldog was named Bogadoodle on papers but was called Bogart in our family world.A terrific companion and great with the kids. I had the pleasure to dog sit one time. I took him out, gave him a command '' come on bog'' let's go back in. Bogart heard me call, stopped and turned to look at me with a '' why are you bothering me look''. English bulldogs can be stubborn at times and will try to let you know who's the boss. Bogart passed away, is missed and will always be remembered.
End of story!
We have a standard schnauzer and his name is Grizwald. We also have a Tibetan Terrier named Winston.
I have a dog named Peanut, because when he was a puppy, he looked like a peanut.
I have another dog named Bowser, named after a Mario character.
And I have another dog named Cookie, just cause she was Peanut's girlfriend.

Her first name comes from the name of a dog in a book I read, her second for my sister, who loves Radley handbags. My sister's a clever devil too
