Hello HubMobsters, hope you all had a great weekend. A big thanks to all of you who joined in the fun last week. We had some awesome hubs (gathering around 60 views a day each) and it was really great to see some of the HubMobbers baby photos. They are so cute!

If you check the Category page for baby apparel you will see that most of last week's HubMobs have made it to the front page with some of you having a featured article on it, and guess who is in this week's list of featured authors for the baby apparel category?  Frieda Babbley and she only joined HubPages 2 months ago!  Well done Frieda smile

Keep an eye on the HubPages blog, Ryan Hupfer will be soon blogging there about last week's best HubMob.

This week's topic is about a holiday that we all love:  Mother's Day.  Remember that if you are one of the first Hubbers to write on the proposed category, your hub will be on the front page as a featured hub when someone looks for that category giving you and your hubs more exposure which means more views to your hubs.

So here we go, this week's HubMob Topic is: Mother's day

Some ideas to write a HubMob on the topic are:

    History of mother's day
Who celebrates mother's day, how and when?
    Best presents for new moms
    Presents under 10$, 20$, 30$, 40$ and 50$
    Mother's day cards
    Worst mother's day presents
    Best presents for grandmothers
    Presents for moms to be
Presents for the glamorous mom, the eco mom, the home diva mom.
    Most expensive mother's day presents
    Home made mother's day presents
    Your memories of mother's day
    Letter to a mom
    Poems for mother's day

Take advantage of the topic and use your Amazon and e-bay capsules wisely to your advantage to generate some extra money.

To join this week's HubMob please follow the steps below:

    1. click this link and answer the Request that I entered in for all of you HubMobsters.

    2. Choose a relevant title for your HubMob To get a good ranking in the search engines make your title relevant to your hub content and avoid starting your title with "Weekly HubMob"

    3. If necessary change the category for your hub according to your content.

    4. Include the HubMob RSS Feed in your hub: http://hubpages.com/request/11933/best?new&rss

    5. Add the Mother's day HubMob graphic specially made by ProCW for the occasion to your Hub so that everyone who reads it will know that it is part of the official HubMob topic of the week.

    6. After you publish your HubMob Hub, come back to the forum and post a link to your hub with a brief description of what you wrote about and why.  Take advantage of the free publicity!

    7. Keep track of your Hub and keep us updated on any traffic that you're getting and post some screenshots if you end up HubMobbing a few search keywords over on Google.

Yep, that's about it - have fun writing your HubMob Hub this week and please let us all know if you have any questions. Have fun, you crazy HubMobsters. smile

I just created a HubMob on Mothers Day.

    Hub: http://hubpages.com/hub/I-am-sorry-Mother

The hub is about my apology to my mother on forgetting the Mothers Day last year. And some thoughts on how should we celebrate Mothers Day.

Interesting - I didn't realise that American Mother's Day was different from ours. Mothering Sunday in the UK is in March and Father's Day is in June. Do you have a Father's Day as well?

    1. profile image0
pgrundyposted 15 years agoin reply to this

We do! It's June 21st this year.

My dad died on Father's Day, of lung cancer. I'll never forget it--we were all standing in the hall at the hospital and no one wanted to go in to the room. My brother said, "What, am I supposed to say, 'Happy Father's day Dad. I got you a tie.'"

We all laughed until we felt sick but I guess it was gallows humor, as now that I write this it doesn't seem all that hilarious.

I went in the room first finally. No tie though.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I suppose the way to look at it is that it was a terrible tragedy to occur at any time and that the "day" on which it occurred was essentially mere coincidence.

My personal belief in such instances - and I have been through similar situations! - is that my Lord and my God has always a greater purpose. I always draw great comfort from same and it is my fervent hope that you can do likewise.

        Best wishes and take care.

This is going to sound really (and I mean "really") stupid, but I don't really "get" what HubMob is.  I've read some stuff, and kind of always assumed it just some separate thing that had nothing to do with me.

Just because I've seen so much talk about Mother's Day, I was "inspired" to post a "blog-type" of Hub, that's pretty much a "Motherhood Fest", with a bunch of different writing and video tributes to mothers.  I didn't know what makes a "Hub Mob thing", or whether the Hub I put together is even qualified.

Anyway, this is the "thing" (I say "thing" because it's really a kind of weird, big, thing   smile  ).  I put it together because I thought it would nice to "give people an experience" related to mothers/mothering - but, again, I think it's kind of weird (and it doesn't contain any practical, useful, information).

    http://hubpages.com/hub/On-Mothers-and-Being-A-Mother

If I "should" be doing something else with it maybe someone can let me know - otherwise I'll just leave it as is, in all it's "creative weirdness".

Hub has been updated:  A Mother's Day HubMob

Hi, Lisa.  You need to submit your hub through the HubMob request link, and add the HubMob graphic and RSS feed.

All the instructions and links are in the first post in this thread.  Sorry, I didn't get them before I started typing this.

Shirley, thanks.  I just have one other question to bother people with:  I went to the request link, and I see that it pretty much "assumes" the Hub has not yet been written.  I my case, it has been written (and has a big, load, of stuff in it).  Now that it already has an address, there's no way to change that (without deleting the old one and re-putting-it-together under a new address)?

  37. Lisa HW profile image63
    Lisa HWposted 15 years ago

Princessa, I'm back, now that I've seen the link you offered.  I just have a few of questions.

    1.  If the Hub was already written does that make a difference?

    2.  Does the Hub have to meet some standard, in terms of "purpose"?  For example, do they have to be practical, useful, "tips" or informational type Hubs; or can they just be any writing about the topic at all?  (The Hub I created is more of a big "creative writing fest", rather than informational.)

    3.  Is there a waiting-for-approval process that has to take place after requesting?

    4.  Do people have to sign up/join for a "general membership" into the "HubMob" thing first (in other words, it is a "mini'thing "club" within HubPages' general membership), in order to participate - or is it just a "per Hub" type of thing?

    1. Princessa profile image83
Princessaposted 15 years agoin reply to this

Hi Lisa, again, sorry for the delay, I've been having a rather busy weekend smile

      To answer your questions:
      1) Yes, you cannot submit a hub that has already been writen. You must start your hub with the "Answer the request".

      2) You are free to write your hub in any style you like.

      3) There is no waiting for approval.

      4) Anyone can join in a hubmob.  You can join in every week or just whenever you like the hubmob topic.

      Have a fun filled Sunday!
