I don't know what seems to be the problem, I can't still see the kontera ads on my pages, even after I sign out. But whenever I check my kontera account I have page impression close to my the number of page impression I get from google.

From what I understand, you will not see the links on your own page when you are signed in to HubPages. If you sign out then check your hubs you will see them.

Anybody know how long it takes to get accepted, it`s been more than 5 days and I have not heard of  anyone yet, thanks!

You have probably been accepted but because of the large influx of signups from HubPAges, it will take a little longer to get the email. Try signing into Kontera and see if your account has been approved.

    Hi Mike,

I have been accepted, signed up, logged in, filled all the forms out and see ads on my hubs, but I get this message when I log in:

"MemCache Error: No connection to server"

And get no stats. What would I need to do to fix that?

    Thanks,

    Mark

No.  Just be sure you've entered your Kontera publisher id on the affiliate settings page.

One of the Kontera ads in my Beatles hub is funny.  It's on the words, Magical Mystery Tour and the ad is for learning about microwaves.  Humorous, had to chuckle.

    Hi Mike,

Is it possible to track individual urls? Also, I see big difference in adsense impressions compared with Kontera. Although Paul clarified it in another thread, I would like to know more about it.

I tried logging in yesterday, after successfully getting into the site the first time. And it now says that my password/username is invalid.

I tried requesting a new password but I didn't receive it in my inbox.

I tried again just now and the same deal.

I have been approved and sent my links. I clicked for all my hubs to have Kontera text links on them, but didn't paste the ad code anywhere. I thought I didn't have to paste the code if I set it to default as all hubs having Kontera? None of my hubs are actually showing text links though. What should be done? Thanks!

I want to ask the other hubbers if kontera has affected their adsense earning, because my page eCPM went down more than half since I placed kontera ads on my hubs, sometimes I get more clicks on my kontera which is nice, but the earnings there is just about 20% of what i get from google, so I disabled kontera for now, to see if it is the cause of my adsense low eCPM.

      If Louie and PGrund,

If you've been waiting that long, I'd suggest you try logging into http://publishers.kontera.com with the email and password you provided when you signed up.  If you're not able to login then there must have been a problem with your application in that not all of the necessary information was submitted.

If you can provide me with the URL and/or approx time you signed up with, I can double check for you but from what my team is telling me, all of the Hubpage accounts have been created and have been cleared to go.

Also, Mark Knowles, my apologies for the lapse in response over the holiday weekend- are you still experiencing an error when logging in?  I am seeing traction under your account and will be happy to get this sorted out so that you can see how things are looking.  Please let me know when you can.

        Hi Mike,

I signed up on June 27, received the email from Kontera saying my application will be reviewed, but never heard anything again.  I followed your advice from above, and it logs me in (even says: Hello Stacie Naczelnik), but also gives me the notice:

"We're sorry, but something went wrong.

We've been notified about this issue and we'll take a look at it shortly."

When I applied, I couldn't use my profile URL because it has a space, so I followed the HubPages instructions and entered http://www.hubpages.com/affiliate.  Then added my profile URL into the comments section.
I see now that the instructions are different.

        What should I do next?

Sir: Please have a look at my Kontera Income in the Shot below (I Guess I am not doing anything wrong by sharing this Data):

    http://hubpages.com/u/407884_f496.jpg

The income is $ 6.36 with a Total of 87 Clicks. This cannot be considered good at all.

I am also watching a downfall in my Google Adsense Income. Is it really because of Kontera ? I am confused.

Please Help with your valuable advice.

    Thanks & Best Regards!

I love the 8 impressions that paid 0.05 cents. How's that work.

By my calculations you should reach the $100 payout threshold in 15.72 weeks.

  16. Inspirepub profile image76
    Inspirepubposted 17 years ago

Ray, I guess the question is whether your Adsense earnings are down by more than $6.36.

If so, then you're better off switching off the Kontera ads - although you'd want to give it longer before making a decision on that - Adsense revenue seemed to slump across the board over the holiday weekend, for example.

If you lose $5 in Adsense, but gain $6.36 from Kontera, then you're ahead.

Our CTR for Adsense on HubPages hasn't dropped since we added Kontera - if anything, it has increased. And it seems our Adsense eCPM on HubPages has also increased. But it's too early to say for sure.

      Dear Jenny :

      Thank you for writing.

My Kontera Income so far is $6.36 but by Adsense Income has dropped by around $3-4 per Day.

Yes, I agree with you that it is too early to say anything for sure. I will wait and watch for 2-3 months and see what happens.

      Regards!

    2. Kontera Team profile image61
Kontera Teamposted 17 years agoin reply to this

      Jenny,

You are right on point here and thank you for providing the clarification.  I want to stress that our intention is not to replace your current revenue streams, but provide an additional layer or revenue that is in line with what you are talking about and providing value to the readers.  Google is keeping much of the internet in business, their AdSense product is hands down about as good as it gets, but of the 13,000 publishers currently working with us, I would say that over 99% of them use us with AdSense and I know that we can find that fit within the HubPages community.

Out of the gate there is bound to be some optimizing on our end to fine tune the product with your pages/topics.  Please don't let this discourage you from giving this an honest try.  There are over 400 of you now signed up with Kontera (more people actually need to go live with our tags though!) and given that each of you are talking about different ideas/topics, it's a process to get each one of you set up with the right blend of ads, the right CPCs to match your goals, the right number of links, etc.

I again stress to go through support to get the fine tuning of your tags in place (more links, less links, blocking of advertisers), to use this forum to ask if certain things are possible and to share successes/frustrations with our product.  We'll work to make it right and I hope that we can bring our technology and advertisers to all of the HubPages but that is for each writer to determine if that's right for them.

Thanks to everyone for sharing what's working and not working along the way, I've posted my email in this forum should you need help with expediting certain things, please understand that it may take me awhile to get back to each and everyone of you, but so far so good with what we've seen from the limited roll out with those of you who have started.

      Thanks everyone,
      Mike

Kontera Teamposted 17 years agoin reply to this

Yes, you can.  We default the settings to limit the number of links per paragraph and also put in a setting that allows for monetization throughout the page, without clumping of the links.  If you'd prefer to have a max number, just email support with your publisher id and ask to set the max number of links to whichever number you choose.

            Thanks,
            Mike

If you have entered the Published ID in your Affiliate Settings and it is Active and you are Not able to see the Kontera Ads (Double Underlines) then it is, most probably, because you are signed-in to Hubpages. Kontera won't show the Ads when Hubbers are signed in. Plz sign-out and you will surely be able to see those Double underlines on your Hubs. Make sure that you have activated Kontera Ads on your hubs.

Where did you put the HTML Code? You don't have to place any HTML code in HP. Just the Affiliate Number (Publisher ID). If you have put the Affiliate Code and it is showing "Active" then it is done. Just Log out of HP and look at your Hubs. Remember to Log out.

This is stupid of me, but I'm getting nowhere faster and faster with Kontera signup.

First i used hubpages "affiliate" url and was rejected. Then Profile url, rejected for having symbols in it. After emails sent, i tried url of my first hubpage - accepted, but of course, i cannot post html links necessary, as i soon found out that i needed to do (grammar lol).

I filled out Help from. Perhaps I can't use Kontera at all. lol

Patty, if you have spaces/symbols in your profile url, then you have to use your profile url without the symbols, and then in the comments section at the bottom of that page you paste your real profile url.  I believe that's how it works, the instructions are somewhere around here.

jyvua, yes, poorly worded on my part, but it seems to be working now.  I guess it just took some time.

I got 94 clicks on July 15, 08 with a CTR of 11.12% and made a revenue of $10.73. This looks little suspicious to me. Is this a matter of concern? I had never expected such Revenue from Kontera in a single day. What should I do ? Is there something going wrong.

The same happened to me with Google Adsense with 198 clicks in one single day and an Income of $ 20.17.

    Please Help !

I heard that Google does not allow us to show our account figure, especially CTR and CPM.
Does Kontera allow this? I just want to know.

It seems that you did a good job with your Adsense and Kontera. I haven't been able to login to Kontera  yet. Kontera Team, what should I do? It has been more than 2 weeks now I guess.

      Thanks

I posted a comment on this thread few days back with my stats fearing if it is allowed or not. Mr. Mike from Kontera saw it and did not say if it is allowed or not.

I don't share the adsense stats because i know their rules.

            Hi Ronald,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.  What my initial guess would be is that your account was not approved due to the URL you provided or the application not being complete.  We can do one of two things, you can re-apply and make sure that the URL is a unique URL to  your posts (if there are + within it, when the applilcation asks you to include your URL, just do it without the + and then in the comments section, paste the proper URL with the +'s) or you can send me an email- mike@kontera.com with the email you used when signing up and the approx time you signed up.  I'll look it up and get it squared away for you.

Thanks for your patience and my apologies for the delay.

With regards to showing your earnings, it's not something that we've officially prohibited but given that there are publishers with so many varying degrees of content, readership, geographic location of their readers and so on, there really aren't 2 publishers who will see the same CPCs, CTR, etc.

If you have questions about all of the factors within the reporting, then I would suggest going through support to see where certain factors can be optimized, or as it seems this forum has a number of extremely helpful people, if it's easier to get answers through here, then great.

Thanks for all of the help on the replies JYUVA, much appreciated!

guidebaba, sometimes you just get those days. I know since I've implemented Kontera, my adsense has increased like $2 more a day. I'm still trying to figure if it's coincidence or what, as I see no reason why one would make the other go up, but yea...

It's been a couple of days since I've logged into Kontera, and when I type in my email address and password I get this: Invalid email/password combination

    What?

This has happened in my case also. It showed wrong password though password was correct.I clicked "forgot password" and after receiving new password, I again login with new password and it worked. You may try this.

I had to do that a week or so ago.

It'll get frustrating having to request a new password every week if there's a glitch in the system.

But it's to know I'm not the only one! smile

I can hear it now, oh sorry we don't have a record of your account, or when did you sign up, or my favorite, what's your account number. Or my special favorite "EMAIL DELETED WITHOUT READING".

    Hi,

I emailed Mike about this issue I was having and I thought I'd also post it here! I'm getting the same problem as on page 7, where that person had the following error when logging into their publisher account:

"We're sorry, but something went wrong.

We've been notified about this issue and we'll take a look at it shortly."

    http://flickcabin.com/public/view/full/1008

I get this error inside my publisher account to whichever tab I click in the Kontera control panel.

    Any help would be appreciated.

      Hi All,

What's happening to those who are getting error messages when you are trying to login is that most likely you do not have a numeric symble in your PW.  I will need to adjust your PW to include a number and once that happens you will be able to login with the new information.

If you are getting error messages when logging in, but you've been approved, just email me your email and PW and I'll have it sorted out.

      Thanks,
      Mike

I want to pass on some important information about Kontera.
During the sign-up process, In the terms and conditions I noticed
that they state that they do not pay out amounts less than $100.
To verify that this could possibly mean even in the case of termination,
I asked them and found out that even in the case of termination of a partnership,
they do not pay out money owed if the amount is under $100.
You can read my hub on the subject at the address below:

Interesting - I was going to ask a similar question.

As an itty-bitty publisher, it would appear that I will earn about $40 this month, which fits in with Paul's estimate of the earnings -  Which means I need to wait 3 months before getting paid.

As you are paying with paypal - why is it necessary to wait this long and will you be paying interest on this?

Although, I accept that interest rates are low at the moment to protect us from terrorists. big_smile

Surely you could just pay at the end of the month seeing as it makes no difference in cost to the amount paid out.

I worked for a guy once so cheap he always paid us a week late. His book keeper told us it was so he could collect on a week's interest, which probably amounted to not much more than a couple of dollars. 3 months is standard practice in some circles. Guess its the principle of the thing.

  42. Mark Knowles profile image59

Well, if I was earning more, I would be paid faster. But I only get about 50,000 page views a month. smile

And if that doesn't mean what I think it means - it needs to be able to be placed whereever I want it to go!

Also, why does it take so long from sign up (like 4 to 5 days) to inception of the links being live? (24 hours or more??)

        Hi, Jonathan

Sory for the late reply. Yes, Mike e-mailed me (i guess after 24 hours from the time when my I sent my e-mail to him) and he told me to make another account with different e-mail because my previous e-mail was already stored in their system. But I think not everyone will get the same answer. He has to check first what is wrong with the application. My mistake was adding + in the URL of my profile when applying. Be patience, my friend! smile

I don't see you as having any impressions in our system and the email you provided me was different then the one that the account was set up under.  For security reasons, I need to have the proper email in place before changes are made.  I shot a few emails your way and we should most likely be able to clear this up today.

        Thanks,

Google has apparently put the fear of God into their publishers who click on their own ads.  We get people asking us this question all of the time and while you are not allowed to click on your ads, we have several tiers of click-fraud managment to ensure that our advertisers budgets are upheld and we will not charge them, or pay publishers, for fraudulent clicks.  However, if you accidentally click on your ad we will not dock you for it, but if we find that it happens several times, we will.

      Thanks,
      Mike
